oh, and one other thing lost in the SF/NE game ... one of the game balls should go to Andy Lee, the 49ers punter.
In those conditions he averaged over 55 yards on 5 punts, putting the Pats deep in their own territory (inside 20 three times) and limiting Welker to about 2 yards per return.

I'm starting to hate fantasy football. Without it, I wouldn't feel compelled to watch this horseshit MNF game0

Wanna hear something really bad? I don't even play fantasy football, yet I'm still watching this horseshit MNF game.
And I'm a fan of neither team. Though I do get a kick out of seeing Rex (and Rob for that matter) lose. If the Jets win, then this will all be for nothing."See a broad to get dat booty yak 'em, leg 'er down, a smack 'em yak 'em!"0 -

Is ESPN's love affair with Tebow over? Tirico and Gruden are sure letting him have it, blaming him for killing the Jets "momentum" (the momentum from a field goal?) and just tearing apart that series.
I guess they have RG3 now and Tebow is yesterday's news. I was expecting them to freak out when Tebow took the field, but really all they did was compare him to RG3 (in that they feel RG3 is better) and talk shit.
What a difference a year makes, last year I remember watching a MNF game where Gruden wouldn't shut up about Tebow, was showing highlight packages, etc. And by the way, it wasn't a Broncos game. Now Gruden acts like Tebow ate the last slice or something."See a broad to get dat booty yak 'em, leg 'er down, a smack 'em yak 'em!"0 -

Interesting. I had read the Gottlieb story a while back, and found the "you can't talk enough Tebow" thing pretty funny. Interesting to see that the President and VP of ESPN are now owning up to it and admitting they didn't handle it all that well."See a broad to get dat booty yak 'em, leg 'er down, a smack 'em yak 'em!"0 -

Because Teblow is his backup, and he came in for a series earlier and looked like shit.
On a side note, from now on whenever I have to take a dump, I'm going to say "I have to go take a Gruden Grinder"."See a broad to get dat booty yak 'em, leg 'er down, a smack 'em yak 'em!"0 -

They should start their 3rd string QB. I forget dude's name, but he looked good last time he played when Sanchez got hurt.8/28/98- Camden, NJ

What impressed me most was that when it seemed like San Fran was "trying" they kicked the living shit out of New England physically. That usually only happens when they play the Giants.
As for gimmicky/creativity...all I meant by that was that it is easy to look really good when teams can't match up with you. As soon as they do (New England vs. AZ/Sea/SF/Bal) they have a much tougher time scoring. The 31 from last night doesn't strike me as an indicator for a full game in the Super Bowl against San Fran. Particularly (if they still are healthy and only playing 12) because during the Super Bowl you get MASSIVE rest breaks that overwhelmingly goes against New England on offense which tries to pull an NFL-Oregon and try wearing everyone out.
here are brady's numbers vs denver (4th ranked defense in league, 4th in points allowed)
C/ATT YDS AVG TD INT SACKS QBR RTG
T. Brady 23/31 223 7.2 1 0 4-30 82.1 104.
here are brady's numbers vs houston (7th ranked defense in league, 6th in points allowed)
C/ATT YDS AVG TD INT SACKS QBR RTG
T. Brady 21/35 296 8.5 4 0 1-7 95.6 125.4
here is his game vs the ravens that you mentioned (despite struggles, still 10th in pts allowed):
C/ATT YDS AVG TD INT SACKS QBR RTG
T. Brady 28/41 335 8.2 1 0 2-16 86.0 101.2
you're not implying that tom brady only plays well against inferior opponets are you? come on rw. yes he struggled in the pats losses, but had 2 of his best games against 2 of the league's best defenses in the league and also played very well in the other game you mentioned.
All three of those teams you pointed out are from the AFC...inferior conference putting up numbers against inferior teams. Plus the HOU defense was on their 7th, 8th, and 9th string LBs by then. No Tom Brady doesn't only play well against bad teams, he's a pretty awesome QB. He's been excellent for a LONG time, and I'm not doubting that. Plus I said he made some sick throws last night. It's just that whenever it mattered last night, and against SEA and AZ (teams with defenses that can cover up his guys with 4 down rushers) he hasn't been so hot. Yes NE offense has been a gimmick offense since they got Randy Moss and had the old throw it up for a miracle play for him to reach back for. Before that they ran clock killin' Corey Dillon and basically took the pressure off of Brady late in many cases, and before that they had Adam Vinateri to kick field goals to make up for stalled drives now they go for it on 4th downs. Unfortunately for them w/o Gronk (the new Corey Dillion) it all revolves around his little guys getting open, and it works A FUCKING LOT (as someone married into a Pats loving fam I know more than most).
Given all of this, my main contention with the Pats and Brady is that we are all for questioning the Schaubs, Matty Ices, Paytons, and others of that ilk but he always gets a pass. I'm already thinking that another Super Bowl loss puts him in the rare George W. air of being both a step away from having the most love in the world (4 SB wins) and the most hate in the world (4 SB losses). Of course getting to that many title games speaks to his abilities and I'd love having him on my team. It's just weird that he doesn't get critiqued for this.0 -
Doesn't look like either one of these teams want to win."See a broad to get dat booty yak 'em, leg 'er down, a smack 'em yak 'em!"0
