I highly doubt that this experience will be duplicated. It was truly a once in a lifetime affair.0 -
This thread reminds me of the Pittsburgh 03 show at Mellon Arena. A friend and I made the treck across state and crashed at a friend of a friend's apartment near the University of Pitt. We spent all day drinking. My friend just started the Atkins diet so he was dead set on no beer, just rum and coke. His body was not used to liquor!!!! About 3 songs in (during Save You -- how ironic!) he took a header into the row in front of us. Blood gushing from his nose, he started puking everywhere.
It was gross, I knew if I got help he would've been tossed and I would have gone to babysit him in the parking lot! The blood stopped, along with the puking after about 5 minutes and he passed out until 2nd encore. I have my ticket stub (upper level, 200 section) at home, but I still can't thank the fans around me enough for being supportive. They could've easily called security and gotten us both kicked out, but everyone played it cool. My friend was "that guy", I was guilty by association, rightfully so I stood in his puke the rest of the show for being "that guys" friend.
We spent the night in the parking lot until I sobered up and eventually made it back to our friends apartment around 5 AM. My friend proceeded to call his (then fiance, now ex-wife) to tell her about the night. I got the "why weren't you babysitting my soon to be 28 year old husband lecture." Turns out he didn't bust his nose, but gashed his upper lip and because a certain time frame had passed before seeking medical attention, he was forced to go to a plastic surgeon to get part of his lip reattatched!
Needless to say, he refers to Pittsburgh as his 1/2 show. If the stars allign we'll be hitting Camden 1 and 2 (if added), DC, MSG 1 & 2, Hartford and Mansfield Saturday show (if added) this tour. Don't worry, he's built up a tolerance, haha. And I'll be bringing old sneakers just in case!0 -

my plan is to be at as many of these shows new england area shows as possible. I will have my digital camera. I will be on the look-out for massive piles of vomit. I think that we have all grown so much in the three years since this incident occurred.
It still ranks as one of the highlights of my life. When I really, really think about it, I can smell it.
wow. i can't believe that i have achieved so much attention over witnessing another grown man vomit. i am sure that kenny would say the same thing, achieving immortaility from puking was never something he dreamed his like would become.
please make up and distribute t-shirts for the new enlgand shows. i think we need to take this incident to the next level.Lalapalooza 1992, Orphium Boston 1994, Hartford 1998, Mansfield 1998, Mansfield 2000, Mansfield 2003(1&3), West Palm 2003, State College 2003, Boston 2004, Albany 2006, Hartford 2006, Chicago 2006, Boston 2006, Mansfield 2008(1&2), Hartford 2008, Hartford 2010, Boston 2010, Worcester 2013 (1&2), All Four Fenway shows 2016 & 2018.0 -

I like:
I survived the boston puker (on the front)
Puke Free Zone (on the back)
I think that I can make a color match from the actual color of the puke itself and make the t-shirts that color. It will go over really well.Lalapalooza 1992, Orphium Boston 1994, Hartford 1998, Mansfield 1998, Mansfield 2000, Mansfield 2003(1&3), West Palm 2003, State College 2003, Boston 2004, Albany 2006, Hartford 2006, Chicago 2006, Boston 2006, Mansfield 2008(1&2), Hartford 2008, Hartford 2010, Boston 2010, Worcester 2013 (1&2), All Four Fenway shows 2016 & 2018.0 -
You should do the shirts! The color idea sounds great, but I’d include chunks in there some how as well. Sell them at the fundraiser.
Also for the Mansfield fundraiser they could auction off preparty drinking (beer bongs and whiskey) with Kenny and a seat next to him at the show. All exclusively photographed and documented by UNH1995 for the Message Pit. Kenny’s a sport he’d go for it.Three Fish
