Most of them are festivals, so they can't announce until the festivals are ready to do so.

Good point, I was thinking about why they're doing it this way, but this makes perfect sense. I'd say they're dead certs for Download in the UK followed by a show or 2 at Brixton to be announced nearer the time. I hope so anyway!
    My PJ shows:
    London 28/10/96, Las Vegas 11/7/98, London 29/5/00, Nurnburg 11/6/00, Prague 14/6/00, Salzburg 18/6/00, Verona 20/6/00, Milan 22/6/00, Zurich 23/6/00, New York 8-9/7/03, Boston 11/7/03, Reading Festival 27/8/06, Shepards Bush 11/8/09, Berlin 15/8/09, Manchester 17/8/09, London 18/8/09, Dublin 22/6/10, Belfast 23/6/10, London (HRC) 25/6/10, Alpine Valley (PJ20) 3-4/9/11, Manchester 20-21/6/12, Leeds 8/7/14, Milton Keynes 11/7/14 To be continued....

they should play at Nova Rock festival in Austria beside Metallica, Machine Head and Slayer
    8-10 June.
I've been keeping my fingers crossed since their first reunion announcement...and getting tired of that :-)

I fully support this notion. :D
Metallica will play the whole black album, really need to see this.

Probably getting tickets to the Soundgarden show in Milan, though I'd really prefer an Austrian/German date (non-festival)...the venue's bad, the people there are super badly organized (I went to rock in idrho festival at the same place last year, it was super hot and they were out of water by 6 pm), and the accoustics suck (huge concrete building right next to it causing echoes)...but better than not seeing them at all!

A Brixton show (or 2) Would be awesome... :)
  • Was thinking of splashing the cash and going to the Milan show, but just seen it's an outdoor venue... don't fancy running the risk of spending £££s and getting rained on all day. Hunkering down for some UK shows... come on Soundgarden don't let us down!

There's no way they'll leave the UK out, it just depends on whether they go solely for a festival.

I'd be amazed if it was anything other than a festival. At least it wont clash with the PJ show at the IOW!

    berlin tickets on sale now.

they're 20€ cheaper than those for Milan, which is probably some kind of mini-festival anyway, and the location looks awesome...need to see how much this would cost me in total.

Damn it. I HAVE to see them in Berlin. It's just that I'm so fucking broke because of the PJ tour ;) But I just have to
  • Paris has randomly gone on sale 2 days early!

It's annoying they're drip feeding the dates. I'm tempted by both Berlin and Milan, I have friends in Milan, but I don't want to commit to those until UK dates are announced. From what I read though people who've been to these venues say the sound isn't that loud or too great, still I'm sure it will be fine and probably depends where you are.

It is very irritating that they are gradually releasing dates.

The whole reunion has been slow.

Purchased my Berlin ticket an hour ago.. Yaaaay...can't wait. This will be an awesome opener for this years concerts madness

It's incredibly annoying - Soundgarden and Radiohead are doing my head in at the moment.

I don't mind waiting for something, but this drip... drip... ... ...drip... of dates is getting frustrating. Just announce a "Euro" tour or a "World" tour or a "UK" tour already!

It's really hard to keep up with date announcements when they're like this, and I know I'm inevitably going to miss "the one" that I will want to go to. Plus, it really can't be any good for them, can it? They're not going to make much of an impact publicity-wise, just randomly announcing a date every couple of weeks. GAH!! :D

Indeed. Makes it impossible to plan! Milan is just a 4 hour drive from my hometown, but as you mentioned, the sound at the venue isn't that great, neither is the organization. I don't see that show selling out anytime soon though, they had a festival last June with Foo Fighters who are bigger in Italy than Soundgarden, and that never even got close to selling out. I'm personally still hoping for a Munich, or even better, a Vienna date.

    Berlin is the latest announcement.

Getting tired of this wait that started over two years ago.

Can't believe it's been over 2 years... that is pretty ridiculous to have only come out with a greatest hits, a live album that was compiled in 97, and some US shows to date. Bit of a damp squib of a reunion, at least it's starting to pick up with the impending Oz tour and Euro dates getting announced. Then things should hopefully click into gear when the new album gets released this year.

Epic lol @ Soundgarden leaking all the bands so they took down their original FB page n reposted their date..

So before Sabbath is interesting. Looks like it will just be a bonus seeing them then as I'm going to hit them at a real show.

Disgusting to think SG don't headline a festival like WTF, Prodigy omfg, um what happened to people who played instruments.

Prodigy will pack that field out as well, the laughable bit is that they've been essentially playing the very same set for the last 4 years. Download must be their last festival for a while.

Sucks for the UK SG fans who would've been hoping for a proper show, but unlikely that it'll happen this time. The day ticket price for this one will be in the region of £70 I expect... for the same money I expect you could get a sleazyjet/Ryanair flight and tickets to see a full show? I've not looked at ticket prices for the shows so may be way off the mark with that!

Yeah I know it's all about demand etc but it's so sad, the announcement Download Festival announcement said it was SPECIAL but didn't give them headline pfft...

I don't know too much about them, but they have been playing the same set?

They will play a proper show, Faith No More and tonnes of other bands have announced UK dates despite saying it's exclusive. A flight to Amsterdam from East Midlands is £20!

Pretty much the same set, yeah. Friends have seen them at multiple festivals and won't bother any more.

That's ridiculously cheap for a flight! The "special" in the announcement I think is probably putting a limit on what they can announce, i.e. once day tickets are sold above a certain percentage they can announce a night at Hammersmith, Brixton or Wembley (can't see it being anywhere other than those three). So not exclusivity but keeping it to seeming like a one-off type thing. If that makes any sense!

  • Will they definitely be doing day tickets? I'm not really that fussed about the first two days, but Soundgarden and Sabbath is a pretty good proposition.
  • download always does day tickets

they just don't go on sale until they judge how many weekend tickets they've sold

i'll be hoping to get a sunday day ticket now
    2006 - Astoria, Dublin, Leeds
    2007 - London
    2009 - London, Manchester, London
    2010 - Dublin, Belfast, London
    2011 - Alpine Valley x2
    2012 - Isle of Wight, Manchester x2
  • That's cool, I've only been for the weekend before....I know some festivals don't bother with day tickets. Still holding out for a London date though.
