Download Festival??
It can't clash with PJ as Matt Cameron will need to do both.

Yeah, I agree. I want to see them play somewhere like Brixton Academy.

Download Festival is on 8-10 June and Sonisphere is 6-8 July.
So it looks like it'll be Download or possibly even Reading if Soundgarden do festivals in England.
I just want a Brixton gig.

I don't think they could sell out one arena night in London.
They didn't have much momentum when the reunion was first announced in January 2010 and they have even less now.

So here is hoping for a Soundgarden only show.
last time i was at pinkpop was in 2000
yeah right.. keep the area clean

Soundgarden are one group of Seattle grunge-legends who have never strayed far from industry rumour mill. It was you-know-my-name Cornell, their secret tongue-slipping frontman, who ushered on their 2010 reunion shows at Lollapalooza.
The festival marked Soundgarden's first shows in 13 years, and the multi-million selling alternative-rock act were now in retrospective mode with greatest hit collections and Guitar Hero promotion opportunities to be worked out.
It wasn't until earlier this year however that the superunknown question would be answered and the band confirmed officially they had new material penned. Fr the first time in more than a decade they'd be recording with Pearl Jam producer Adam Kasper.
As the band this week confirmed they'll play the New Orlean's Voodoo Experience Festival next month, it comes to the spoonman to ask when they'll finally come to play the UK festival arena?
If they do in 2012 will it be long-established rock giant Download or it's fiery younger cousin Sonisphere who gets the ultimate look in?
Chris Cornell played a solo set in 2009 at Download, dipping into Soundgarden and Audioslave material. Audioslave played the first Download event in 2003, replacing Limp Bizkit and Download Festival booker Andy Copping only today teased with his official Twitter feed;
"Do yourselves a favour...go & put 'Rusty Cage' on by Soundgarden, crank it up & then tell me you don't love it!"
But there's no certainties in this business and Sonisphere man Stuart Galbraith revealed he was still in discussion with a lot of acts for 2012, though paid no particular mention to Soundgarden.
Other rumours for Download 2012 and Sonisphere 2012 include Red Hot Chili Peppers, No Doubt, Green Day, Foo Fighters and Tenacious D.
Click here for our Sonisphere line up 2012 rumours and Download line up 2012 rumours.
Another option for Soundgarden 2012 festival shows include Reading and Leeds Festivals 2011, Soundgarden last played Reading Festival in 1995.

Prodigy, Metallica and Black Sabbath are the three headliners on the main stage for Download 2012.
Soundgarden would probably be a second stage headliner.

My money would be on them being before Metallica or sabbath

There'd be something right about them warming up the crowd for Black Sabbath.

So why did you post here?

Hard Rock Calling is one of the worst though mate.
The sound levels there are appalling and it practically ruined Pearl Jam for me in 2010 it was so quiet. Hyde Park is a shit location because of the amount of residential around it.
Download, being isolated in the countryside, cranks it up really loud and that is excellent. Sonisphere didn't really impress me when I went in 2009, but it was a lot louder than HRC.

Thet dates wouldn't overlap with the PJ dates...But it would mean the Soundgarden tour would be split in two with PJ in the middle.
I hope they do a London date...
