so thats it 4 shows, 81 songs with only seek and destroy repeated at the end of each set, a ton of amazing special guests too many to name here, and all for members only $9 a show.
what more can you ask for.

the fan club packages are cooler, i think. you don't get a record, but you get a t-shirt, a band photo, a note photo from 1 member & 4 magazines a year. plus the downloads to cool stuff & ALL of their live shows have downloadable/printable artwork as well as mp3/flac. you don't get a chance for hard copies of shows, but they're avaliable a couple of days later. shorter shows are only 4.99/6.99 too. not to mention all the web content for members-exclusive video & audio. you can order back issues of their magazines, vinyl, lots of goodies. no boards, if i'm correct, though. pearl jam is still my favorite, but metallica is a close second, then zeppelin.
Yup, all that plus all delivered on time with no delay. And if there is, then a good reason is given. And not to sound like I'm correcting you but there is a boards. Two actually - one exclusive for clubbers and one for everyone else. And don't forget all the great competitions (M&G opportunities at every show, chance to name the tour in 07, plus many more). By the way, I am no way affiliated with the MetClub! Just wanted to give them the praise they deserve.
Regarding the final night, the mini-Sabbath reunion would be great. And I suppose Mustaine playing would be unique enough as well. Just not a fan of him or Megadeth. I'll admit I'm not happy to see Bob Rock and the resurface of two St. Anger tracks. Especially on the last night. Frantic is good but Dirty Window...
Anyway, can't wait for these boots. Funny how we'll probably hear these before the PJ20 ones.
it's all good i never knew there were boards. i justed started posting on the the boards here. it is funny that met's anniversary shows they said they were taking a little extra time to make sure quality is great-will be up before pj20. what's the hold up pearl jam? i'm just super stoked i got a free e.p. from those shows. they sent a download for every night.

Looking forward to hearing these boots. I've just listened to all four of the new tracks... Rebel of Babylon is so effin good! It's right up there with All Nightmare Long as one of the best from that album session. I don't know how it didn't make the album. Just A Bullet Away should have been on there too. I would favored those two tracks over Cyanide and The Unforgiven III, easily. Leaving off Hate Train and Hell and Back is understandable, but they're still pretty damn good songs.
Looking at these set lists and all the special guests... I really can't imagine how these anniversary shows could possibly have been better. Considering they just put out what might be the worst album of the century, this was a good way to redeem themselves. Even with Lou Reed there, it would have been a trip to see that go down live. I heard that when Lars introduced Lou to the crowd, he said something like "Be nice to him, or we'll play all of Lulu!"
Got home from last night's show at 4:30 am. Waited outside the venue to see if I could get some autograph's on my night 2 posters. I got everyone except for James... he walked out of the venue and bolted. People were begging him to sign stuff and just walked on by. That was upsetting to me.
All in all, I was super lucky to attend 3 of the 4 shows and witness history! The Metallica shows this week and PJ20 in East Troy are the top 2 concert "series" I've every been too. 2011 has kicked as concert wise. I'm hoping the fillmore shows are released in the next few days so I can relive my Metallica experiences.
Oh yeah... I picked up a shit ton of merch this week too.
Black 30th Anniversary Jersey and Orange 30th Anniversary Jersey
Night 2, 3 and 4 event shirts (Night 2 was yellow, 3 was Silver and 4 was red)
XXX shirt with all for dates on the back.
Metallica - First 30 years shirt with X's all over it.
Guitar Pick Tin "Fillmore Exclusive Picks"
4 Pack of posters - Night 2 is signed by Kirk, Lars and Rob.
Coins (Large and Small) from nights 2, 3 and 4. Working on a trade to get night 1 coins.
Ticket stubs for the 3 shows I attended.
So, with all this merch... I'm going to do a custom frame that with include the black jersey, all ticket stubs, large and small coins for each night, picks featuring all band members (caught from the stage.. not in the pick tin). This should be pretty cool. I'll post a picture when it's complete.

I didn't win the lottery but I bought a plus one (Night 2) off a German fellow named Thomas for $400. That night he bought be $100 in drinks with the money I gave him so that was really cool. The 3rd show I got in for $12! I stood in the no-ticket line for nearly 4 hours on Friday praying for a chance to get in. Apparantly, lots of people didn't make it to the show so they let 70 people in. I was the last person to get in... so I choose to take Lydia Hampton as my plus one. She is also a Tenclubber. Night 4, I was the plus 1 of a guy named Eric who picked me because I took another guy for free to the Dreamforce show back in August. He PM'd me a month ago and said he saw my postings on the Metallica forum and how I was a cool dude for taking another clubber for free... when most people rape other fans to make a profit. Karma he said.
So that's how I got in to 3 of the 4 shows. I wish I had gone Monday and stood in the non-ticket holder line. Apparantly, they let 50 people in so I feel I would have lucked out then too.
Anyway, I will get some pics of my merch and concert memorabilia and post it here.
2010: Mountain View, CA (10/23)
2011: East Troy, WI (9/3-9/4)
2012: Missoula, MT (09/30) - San Francisco, CA (10/03)

Here's a few pics... One shirt I'm wearing now and the other is in the wash. The shirts in this picture are not going to be worn. I will keep them as memorabilia. I bought and extra yellow skull shirt to wear. Also, I'm having my silver ticket sent from Lydia this week... that's why it's not pictured.
the beyond magnetic e.p. is a great way to tide us over until a new record comes. redemption from lulu i love these fuckin songs! it's so cool that they included everyone from the history of the band. especially dave mustaine & jason newsted. i got into metallica in '87. somebody gave me master of puppets & my 11 year old mind absorbed it. here we are 24 years later. i never understood the bitching about load & reload, or "black" for that matter, just a bluesy side trip. st. anger was them getting artsy & introspectrive. death magnetic- return to form. lulu- another artsy side project with lou reed. beyond magnetic- a reminder -hey we can kick your fuckin face in if we want. psyched up for album #2 with rob!

All those shirts are going in some kind of memorabilia frame with the coins dropped each night, guitar picks thrown from the stage and my ticket stubs. There are rumors that the metclub store will be selling left-over merch from the shows... and there was a lot left over so stay tuned. I plan on buying a night 1 shirt with the green skull.
Don't buy anything off ebay just yet.

James just finished thanking the best fans in the world for making this whole week of shows possible! The boys are joined by Dave, Ron, Lloyd, Hugh, Jason, Mark Osegueda, and the Soul Rebels for Seek! And with that, this week of celebrations have come to a close! Thank you so much for following along... look for recordings of the shows in the coming days at LiveMetallica.com.
so i think we'll see those bootlegs this week, can't wait.

Some items you have to be a metclub member to buy... not sure if that will be the case with leftover merch from the Fillmore shows. I'll keep you posted on that.
As far as the bootlegs... I've pre-ordered all of them. It would be so cool if Pearl Jam did something like this. 4 club shows for Tenclubbers. Use a lottery system to determine the winners and give each winner a plus 1 ticket option.

the setlists are up as notes on livemetallica.com! just a bullet away...from owning these! good news for all non clubbers, the "new songs" are going to itunes. i've seen them elsewhere, though... can't wait to see what 2012 has in store! new soundgarden, pearl jam , maybe metallica....i thought this year was pretty good for nostalgias sake, but next year looks like it's gonna be better. i would be floored if met put a new record out, but the way they're working now, anything is possible.

Funny how we'll probably hear these before the PJ20 ones.
normally these shows would be up by now, but i'm sure we'll see them all before the end of the coming week, can't wait to here them.

As far as the bootlegs... I've pre-ordered all of them. It would be so cool if Pearl Jam did something like this. 4 club shows for Tenclubbers. Use a lottery system to determine the winners and give each winner a plus 1 ticket option.
