  • This is cool as shit. Rob playing Anesthesia (Pulling Teeth). It's the first time it's been played live since Cliff died. The first video is of Rob playing it, the second video is of James while Rob is playing it. He gets all teared up and shit, it's cool.

they've sent me 2 mp3s of the new songs so far. there's 2 more shows, so now i'm wondering if there's going to be 2 more songs from beyond magnetic? i hope so- i am loving this shit! the first 2 nights setlists were kick ass. the next 2 are on friday & saturday. love being a fan of metallica! they're going to be recording with rick rubin again very soon. they're a non stop touring machine these days..

  • I would have went completely ape shit nuts when they opened with To Live is to Die.

This. I kinda lost my shit when I saw that.

  • So I've only been semi-keeping up with this. Have they said if they plan on releasing these shows via download like everything else or are they doing something special like a box or something?

i've not heard, i'm on the fence, because i'd love to hear them ASAP, but on the otherhand, a special box set of sorts would be ace. either cd or cd/dvd would be cool.

another show another new song..just got the email & downloaded. i'm definitely thinking that there will be 1 more at this point. they've got the shows avaliable for preorder at livemetallica.com. i'm in the metclub so i'll keep everyone updated as to whether these shows get a special release. they might be part of fan can 7. last years was the copenhagen shows in honor of lars hometown.

those new songs are badass! i love how they came back to their roots with death magnetic. these shows they are pulling out all the stops. night 4 is probably going to be the best yet. i'm glad 'tallica gets some love on this board. i wish i could've been at bonnaroo 08....there was probably some pissed off hippies about metallica & pearl jam-maybe not so much pj. lolla 96 there was outrage because of met's involvement, but come on- those dudes deliver the goods live.

Exactly. Free downloads of unreleased songs to the club members, special BBQs/events, meet and greet opportunities (at every show), the shows set at a special low price (exclusive for clubbers as well) and generally constantly keeping fans up to date with what is going on. 10c should take notes.

    YUP

It's just so simple to get someone to relay, they arn't embracing what's available to them. Probably something to do with Eddie being a stubborn stuck up retard about technology and vinyls. OH AND METALLICA ARE RELEASING THESE BOOTS VERY SOON AFTER THE SHOWS..Where are PJ20 lol. Better be a good boxset!

just making sure i checked correctly, but is seek and destroy the only repeat so far. i'm sure it is, if so thats awsome, considering metallica don't usually shake their setlists up too much, but i guess these arn't any ordinary shows

Yeah, it certainly is. Hoping they have some merch available with it. Thanks for the links as well.

I think it is. And that's even different since there's different guests jamming on it every night.

On a somewhat unrelated note, I have to say that while they don't change their sets up that much, they still always play a unique set every night. And the constants that they play every night (Sandman, NEM, One, Sad, Seek plus Creep, Bellz are fairly omni-present as well) are pure classics that you couldn't go without really. I look at PJ's recent sets and keep seeing the same stuff over and over again (and I'm not even looking at Alive, Even Flow here. I'm more talking bout Fixer, Animal, Small Town, etc.) Not much variety IMO anyway. Plus, Met always play with full energy (hint, hint).

I'm guessing it's leading to this. Not a fan (at all actually) but would be interesting to see it.

I'm a big metallica fan, incase you hadn't guess.. and i know there setlist are different every night, but as you say usually only by maybe 2-4 songs with the rest more or less the same, but i agree with the classics, if you were only seeing tica the once, you'd want to hear these song, i would... and i know about the full energy.
and finally, dave mustaine has to come out tonight, it wouldn't be fully complete if he didn't.

I was lucky enough to get tickets for the Saturday night show. Flying out from Tampa

I'll see you tonight! I met another cool Ten-Clubber last night and we talked PJ for over an hour waiting in the non-ticket holder line praying for a chance to get in. 70 people made it in and we were the last to get in! I took Lydia as my plus one. The lady at the box office was cool enough to get the other 4 people in our group in even though no tickets were left. What an incredible evening!! Jerry Cantrell, Glenn Danzig, Jason Newsted and Rob Halford. I mean... Metallica concerts from this point forth will seem boring and bland in comparison.

the fan club packages are cooler, i think. you don't get a record, but you get a t-shirt, a band photo, a note photo from 1 member & 4 magazines a year. plus the downloads to cool stuff & ALL of their live shows have downloadable/printable artwork as well as mp3/flac. you don't get a chance for hard copies of shows, but they're avaliable a couple of days later. shorter shows are only 4.99/6.99 too. not to mention all the web content for members-exclusive video & audio. you can order back issues of their magazines, vinyl, lots of goodies. no boards, if i'm correct, though. pearl jam is still my favorite, but metallica is a close second, then zeppelin.
