ChrissySistrum and I had fresh pineapple the day we left at the restaurant next to the beach. That was the closest I got.

Not a big fan of spiced rum... but that's definitely got the tropical vibe I'll be looking for. Will have to search recipes online for this one.


If we want to combine the cake toss with a pineapple/coconut beverage, keep in mind that I have a recipe for Fuzzy Navel cake and it kicks a**. I'm sure substitutions could be made to take it in the pineapple / coconut direction. YUM! ****I have the sudden urge to search for a Bundt cake pan****

My brother took a ton of photos at the show so I downloaded those when he was in town for Christmas. So together there are about 120 pics from the show, 80 from island adventures with other jammers- DiamondHead, North Shore and Duke's, etc. Not all of these photos are great by any means, but most of them are pretty decent.

I also have photos from the Gorge this summer that I can share too.

Just a word of warning, but stay away from the un-ripened passion fruit. It is sour as hell and ties your guts in knots for a few days. Take my word on this one, cuz me and the kidz and wife went up to the North shore after the show and just had to stop at a local vendor and have fresh pineapple, mango, and coconut. All of that would have been good,but I had to ask what that little green thing was... it was the un ripened passion fruit and I hope I made the Hawaii'n couples day when they watched me choke it down. And the "spoon coconut" was kinda hard to swallow to.

Been 1 month today since we were there and I am still stoked...

As I realized at the time -- this experience - the trip, the show, the friends, the Ocean - had the most profound effect on me. It gives me waves of happiness to even recall the events.

I was pleased to read the interview w/ Eddie this week and to hear that he thought it was something special too.

My husband and I took the trip as our long delayed honeymoon. Just weeks before our 25th anniversary. And yes, it was utterly worth the wait. I can still smell the Hawaiian air, hear the ukeleles from the cafe in front of the hotel, feel the wind and the rain. See the plumeria blooms...

I'm goin' back, no doubt about it. Hope PJ goes back too.
