Charlize Theron was sitting 3 rows in back of us. Anyone else see any of these types? She was all done up and hiding underneath her black beret. She came out with her party of 8 from backstage around 2 minutes before EV started. We were center in Row J, so she must have been in row M maybe?

LA should be full of this shit

That's who that was. I saw this hot blonde but I couldn't stare to long cuz I was sitting next to my gf. hehehe.

I posted about the show in another thread but it was easily one of the best shows I've ever been too.

I will say I enjoyed it AS MUCH as a PJ show, but in a completely different way.

Few notes..Ed came out in a #34 Chicago Bears jersey, which was cool, a homage to Walter Payton.

after coming down the balcony on a rope he said starting with two lullabys like walking the cow and around the bend probably wasn't the best trasition, but that a good man takes his time...

As a UCSB alumni the poem was perfect. He metioned UCSB, IV, living by the sea, TA burritoes at 3:38 in the morning, smoking weed under a tree by the mission in the grass, and Montecito..a subtle diss....

Crowd was pretty dead. Ed mentioned that not all places are as nice as Santa Barbara, the world is a dark place..no wonder everyone was so happy at the show...

Ed had to tell some in the crowd to shut the fuck up (friendly Dave Grohl style voice) and that he wasn't negociating when it came to them being quiet in return for song requests. He played the Beatles song because he said some said the into the wild songs were too short..he said the beatles had an even shorter one and then covered it.

could hear him mumble to himself after several slow songs on the ukelele that he needed to speed it up and then roared though porch...the only point in which everyone got up and rocked out..no one sitting at all

glad to hear throw your arms, won't back down, porch, your're true.

I was there. I have so many thoughts on this. I am sure this will be very disjointed. I only slept a few hours last night and am working right now, but I really want to give this the attention it deserves.

Starting with the pre-party. I can't express enough how generous and awesome the Pearl Jam community is. For you people who were at Dargan's beforehand, I was the guy in the black shirt whose girlfriend did not have a ticket to the show. That is actually part of the story.

Rewind to a few weeks ago. I got locked out of each and every pre-sale. However, when the TM pre-sale came on, a guy by the name of ballbag bought a ticket for the sole purpose of selling it at face value to a fellow PJ fan on the message board. By doing that, he got me in the door.

My girlfriend, who is awesome, went up with me yesterday so that I could not worry about driving back. I have a tendency of falling asleep at the wheel when I am tired. Anyway, so at Dargan's yesterday, we met a couple from Long Beach. (I am sorry, I forgot your names. I am bad with names). Anyway, I mentioned to them the fact that my girlfriend did not have a ticket because we were looking at the raffle prizes, one of which was a ticket to the show.

So I bought 8 raffle tickets and let her ride. I did not win the ticket. BUT I won 50 DVDs. Holy crap! I was so stoked. So THEN the person who won the ticket, giventofly34, comes up to my girlfriend and says "You don't have a ticket? Have fun." And gives my girlfriend the ticket!

At this point, we were thanking her profusely and I said. "Can I give you anything? Some of these DVD's? Can I buy you beer? Can I buy you merchandise at the show?" She just smiles and says "Have fun."

How fucking awesome. I just can't believe how awesome this community is.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of you guys who organized the pre-party and the charity stuff, to the couple from Long Beach, and to giventofly34. You guys are saints. All I was able to do for someone is give them some extra rubber bands I had for their posters.

    The show....

If he had packed up after Throw Your Arms Around Me, I would have been happy. Add to that Her Majesty, the UCSB poem (he mentioned my burrito place when I was at UCSB -- TA's), Ben Harper, the rope at the beginning, the Arlington Theatre and Eddie Vedder. I could just go on and on. It far surpassed my expectations. I will be back at LAI, ready to return some of this PJ karma!

    Peace.

    Great show Ed kicked A…….

Throw you’re arms around me live and acoustic was my favorite.
I have always wanted to hear that live and acoustic.
My only gripe is the DAM Security F…s
They kept going back and forth getting in the way almost like prison or something….
On security guy was kneeling down in the walk way trying to catch people with cameras.
I looked at him like give me a break man; personally I left my phone a respected Ed’s wishes not to take pics etc….
I have to say the Santa Cruz security was really cool.
Thank you TEN CLUB for great seats you guys are the BEST....

But all and all Ed did really good, seemed to be really relaxed and
    On top of his game.

Smut peddlars. There was a lady who kept yelling "Smut peddlars!" over and over again after that. She kept wanting everyone to know that she knew that band. We get it. You've heard of them. Now let everyone hear what Ed is saying.

As a UCSB alumni the poem was perfect. He metioned UCSB, IV, living by the sea, TA burritoes at 3:38 in the morning, smoking weed under a tree by the mission in the grass, and Montecito..a subtle diss....
    .

Can someone please share the details of this Poem?
A PROUD former Guacho anxiously awaits.
