    Nice to know you.

  • Would love to see the reaction on Ed's Grandma Margaret's face after she sees the video of 2000 people singing happy birthday to her. And then the neat trick Ed thought up to have 90 people hold up a lighter, ask her to make a wish and blow out the "candles", and then everyone shuts their lighter as if she blew them all out. Awesome. Timing was perfect.
Yeah, that was WAY cool. Except it really didn't look like we could produce 90 lighters. No wonder the zippos are in such high demand. They have like 30 of them that they're trying to sell to 2000 people :D

Not b/c I am starstruck, but just because it is interesting to see who attends (i.e. Phil Jackson who promptly kicked the Lakers ass the next day, Cameron Crowe, Lithgow, etc. Saturday)...did anyone run into anyone famous Sunday night? Ed pointed out the director of I am Sam (Hide your love away) whom he had never met before the night, which was cool. Wiltern was an awesome venue for EV, got a poster, unbelievable set, and even though I think the band has improved with Matt Cameron, I loved seeing Jack Irons again.

Unfortunately, I too had the line shut down on me about 10-15 people away but here's who I saw go in.....Danny Masterson, Jonathan Silverman, Tom Brady & Gisele, and a bunch of TV actors who's names I don't know...One of the girls from "Friday Night Lights", two actors who I remember from "Felicity" and some other stuff. Jeanne Tripplehorn on Sat.

I didn't know that there were that many famous fans of PJ/EV.

  • I dont think there are that many famous PJ fans(except Phil Jackson, who famously took the bottle and drank it down in Irvine a few years back).... i think it's mostly about getting that free ticket out here in LA... these idiots don't know what it's like to have to go through ticketmaster... everything is just handed to them... like Bijou Phillips to the dope from That 70's Show for instance lol :).... along wit her came 2 comp ticket each night to see EV... :-)

I mean how does Charlize Theron get a row of 8 tickets to see the show in SB??? :-) Cause they are handed to her! Cause she's famous... Sad but true

$50 says Jack was the sweeper under the mask.

The sweeper is Eddie. You can catch the broom bit on IIC too. I believe it's in reference to his wife, who once thought he "cleaned up" at a venue, literally.

I'll take the 50 bones, now.

  • Wow. Arc was phenomenal. Absolutely mezmerising. I was lucky enough to get the selist from the sound guy from last night's show, and as i look down it, i get amazing memories from every song. I met some wonderful people at the pre-party, including Ed early in the afternoon.

Where do you start though? I mean, everyone's pretty much said everything i wanted to say. Just being in that building will be in my memories forever. It's up there w/the best Pearl Jam show i've seen, and i'm not at all jealous of the East Coast tour anymore. I was one of the 2000 luckiest people in the world last night, and i'll take that to my grave.

    Amazing. Phenomenal. Brilliant.

All from one of the most wonderful, genuine guys of this musical generation.
It was so good to see Jack Irons again. Last time i saw him was Brisbane 1998. 10 years. First time seeing Ben Harper and it was awesome. Was blown away by No More, and Watchtower...

Oh... and did anyone find it interesting when he talked about TYAAM? How it was dedicated to Neil Finn? And about his influences on Liam, and Australian music? Being from Australia, this interested me.. considering the song was written by Mark Seymour, from the band Hunters and Collectors. I kinda just shrugged it off, and the version was amazing!

Hey SOLAT319........thanks for a wonderful day on sunday. The Santa Monica pier was beautiful, especially the tribute to the people that died in the war.

    ps...thanks for the ride.

Like it or not, there are perks to being famous. I'm sure even Charlize had to call in some favors to get those seats, if she didn't in fact buy them.

What upsets me are the scalpers who somehow immediately hoard up the tickets. I hope they all get severe cases of Gonorrhea (sp?)

Duh, Ed has a broom on IIC. But LA2 was the first I've seen/heard about the masked sweeper. Unless I'm just missing something. And I'll tell you right now it was NOT Ed. Didn't have white pants and was more than 5 feet tall....

I can also confirm the sweeper was NOT Ed. Height was the biggest giveaway. Clothing also did not match. Kind of a weird moment actually. Came out before the show in SB (where there is no stage curtain) - everyone kinda ignored it.

I just can't stand this USWeekly, papparazzi, Entertainment Report shit and like Cosmo said, there were ton of them out there last night!
I came in from Texas and waited Sunday night...didn't notice TMZ folks but did see what seemed to be ebayers. That was probably why Ed was carried out on the shoulder of the big guy. Can't blame him but I was disappointed...I wanted to ask him what he thought about the Sonics leaving Seattle...somebody please ask him...also, if that douchebag know-it-all who was shoving the girl on the bike racks, is reading, dude get a fucking life. If you had shoved that girl one more time, I was personally going to throw your ass to the curb. I'm from Texas and we don't treat ladies like that. Maybe in LA, but you shouldn't do that ANYWHERE! You really think Ed or his people just hook people up with tix for the hell of it instead of making sure fans get in? I figure they must like some of his music. He doesn't seem like one to just give celebs seats and leave fans outside. I don't know. I only saw Jonathon Silverman go in but I was in early and went to my seat and watched Liam...who was cool by the way.

Yeah we went around to the other side, and there was like 1 fan and some paparazzi. The paparazzi kept telling us to go around to the other side because that's where everyone was waiting and where Ed would come out.

Fuck that how are we going to meet him if there are already 100 people there. So we waited there and Ben Harper came out and signed some stuff and so did Liam. They were both nice as hell.

I was standing next to a guy in line and he had some connections through other then ticket master or the venue tickets and he said he tried every thing and could not get a ticket. He said that Eddie closed off tickets that way and that it was geared more towrds the fans-for sure.

Ok so I wanted to share my story with you all. I was one of you that stood in line for LA 2 and I was there and felt that disheartening point when they closed the window and every one was looking at each other with pale faces. Stubborn as mules, I and some others decided we would stay. Slowly people continued to give up; fall away. Hope seemed to be growing even dimmer as the guys with the ladder came and letters of Eddie Vedder's name were dropping to the ground. Still two other ladies and myself waited it out. Props continued to fall away and at the end, it was myself and another girl. Finally, an Angel of Mercy (who worked there) brang us out some used internet tickets.

    We got in!

My favorite part was the dark chocolate from the fundraiser. From the concert, singing to Grandma Margaret, seeing Jack Irons and Ben Harper.
And just sim[ply...getting IN. I felt honored to be there. It was heaven on earth.
