Pretty awful. The heat wave is knocking me on my wimpy Canadian ass. It's making me feel sick, I'm even less able to sleep than usual, I can't focus. It blows. Fuck you, summer. I hate you.

Dizzy, nauseous..I started P90x again, I want to get into a faster group for the stair climb...I entered as a 'trotter'...I'd like to be a 'sprinter' and finish in 10 minutes.

So, first workout...yeah, I only made it 30 minutes, drenched in sweat-I was even in the basement...probably need to get up at 6am to work out.

Tired but wired. Ramadan has my sleep cycle all askew

I'm guessing this is a really tough month to go through Ramadan - I bet you're up having breakfast at about 4:00 a.m., and then staying up to eat dinner at 10:00ish. That doesn't leave a lot of time to sleep! Best wishes to you, your family, and all in your community.

(And just read an article about Ramadan fasting which mentioned a town in Sweden above the Arctic circle where the sun won't set during the entire month! I think the citizens get a special dispensation to eat during the middle of the night).

So glad I don't live in Sweden! I think they do get a special consideration though.

We eat breakfast at 3:15am ish and then dinner at 8:30pm ish. It's a long day. Especially bc nothing else stops. I still have to work. My schedule is flexible though so I make my own hours. I try to leave early enough so I can be home by 3:30 pm or so. Then I still have paperwork but at least I'm home. Then I try to sleep a little and then cook. After we eat sometimes we go out or go to the mosque. I'm also a nut when it comes to fitness and couldn't possible skip that for a month so I exercise at night too though my exercise schedule is less intense this month. Before you know it midnight has arrived and I have to be up in 3 hours to cook again. It's all good though. It's really a great month of gratitude and reflection, connecting with friends and family and self. I always greet Ramadan with a little apprehension but am sad to see it go.

It's really terrible this situation, I hope something positive will happen soon so the people in Greece feel optimism for the future.
