this option will look the best as far as hanging...

if possible (and i did this once to help me) print out colored pictures of each poster and make them all to scale... then make a scale version of each wall... thatll make it extra easy for you to move each poster around and find how they all work best... like a little puzzle

Well....As promised, here are some new pictures of my posters. I have never been much of a photographer, so hopefully, they are okay for starters!

All total so far, there are 89 framed prints. I am sure I didnt get them all in the pics, but you get an idea of what I am dealing with now! I am in awe of them right now. The bright colors, the various shapes and sizes, the different tours, countries and venues! I am so glad that I decided to step up and do this.

So now comes the fun part. Deciding how to go about putting them up and where. If ANYONE has any suggestions, I am open to them all. That said, if anyone would like to fly in or drive to WA State to help me, maybe we could make a weekend of it. I will even help with airfare! Serious inquiries drop me a pm! ;)

Anyhow, hope you enjoy them so far, there will def be more in the weeks to come!

mattes help keep the poster off the glass... but that can also be done by spacers which do the same thing but out of sight along the edges... which is important because over time being against the glass causes the colors to fade

    scott, I have 2 ideas:
    1) Stealing from the seinfeld episode where George creates a little model using a shoe box of a room with him and his former fiance's estate executives, I would do the same, but of your room and little posters.
    2) Invite the band to Spokane and personally have them hang them up with you. That many posters - they should be there at the least!

If I am ever at the Gorge or in Spokane again I am gonna come by to the PJ Poster Museum. Is that OK? You my friend are dedicated.

So, say I go to bigpop. How can I isolate the pictures for printing? That is a great idea, but you are talking to someone who is VERY technically challenged when it comes to computer stuff!

Go here and just click on a print and print it out. :) If you haven't already you should set up an account to keep track of all of them. It's an awesome site.

HOLY SHIT! I never thought of printing off those thumbnails! That will work perfectly. Then I can lay them out and move them all around and find a nice way to do this! Thanks so much. I never remember that site. I should put them up there though, just for fun......THANKS!!!

If you click on each print you have and then click "add to collection" you can record all kinds of data on it. Then print out your whole collection for insurance purposes. I have mine on there as well as an excel spreadsheet. :)

Thank SO MUCH for your help. I never really thought about doing all of this stuff. It will make it pretty easy to keep track of. I have ALWAYS been very lazy in that aspect. I AM and need to keep getting better at that. I think getting these all framed was the first step. Kind of forced me to do something with it all! :D

Just to add a bit to what sgossard3 said. I chose not to do mattes. #1 it would have just added to the already high cost of what I was doing, and #2, I wanted the framing to be consistant and about the posters, and I thought that doing a matte would take away from that a bit. So I chose to do them all in a simple black frame with some non-glare glass, so they would all look the same. Maybe a bit plain, but I think it will look good once they are all hung..:)

That is def the idea. To make it like a gallery, or a museum of sorts. Kind of like that big ball of string people drive accross the country to see! haha The posters are really just the beginning. I have all regular vinyl, promo vinyl, fancub singles, cd singles, promo flats, promo posters, vitalogy mobile, reenk roink, monsterhead, countless setlists, drumsticks, picks, backstage passes, photos, official shit, non-official shit and TONS of other stuff that I am going to put out on display. Some on shelves, some behind glass and some who the hell knows. I have my work cut out for sure. The posters just kicked it all off FINALLY!! :D

glad you figured it all out! its alot of math and shit keeping it all to scale but i think itll be worth it and save you alot of time in the long run... you can even experiment with wall colors on your lil scale model :D

    still jealous of your collection!

and i agree with your no matte, black fram approach keeping the focus on the print itself... i do the same with most of mine (when i can afford custom frames)... ive seen some people post pics of some really obnoxious matte jobs and overly elaborate frames

Yeah, I agree with the no mat, black frame approach. Only I varied on the frame color with a couple of mine. I'm using matte metal frames and they only come in a few colors. The guy at the framing store was the one who suggested using the copper color on the West Palm Beach 2003 surf theme poster and it looks awesome.

But I gotta say PJTRADEKING, that your collection is the most astounding thing I've seen. Congrats on having such an awesome tribute to the band.
