I rate Beck highly and his live shows are great, seen him 3 times going right back to Odeley, but I don't think I'll be getting this new one, Dreams and Wow are just shit..

Yeah, Wow is the one that is really giving me pause... but we'll see! Wow was actually pretty good live btw. But the studio version.... yuck.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata
I'm digging this....just saw him open for U2 last night

Interesting....I own no Beck CDs or vinyl. I loved e-pro, jackass, sexx laws, etc. but never dug too deep because I didn't care much for his mainstream stuff (i.e. Devil's haircut, where it's at, etc.).
I LOVE Dreams and Up All Night....not too into Wow

He was great opening for U2 in Minneapolis last weekend. Been a fan of his radio hits growing up, but never searched out his albums. I guess it's time to start!
As far as the new material, I've been digging dreams since it came out. At first I thought WOW was a joke aimed at Kanye or something. Its a bit catchy, definitely different but not really my style.
Mutations is a gem for chilling. One of my all time favorite albums
“I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version.”

Beer cans was always a favorite of mine, "How ya like me now?!?"

you ever heard the song "Fume"?
b-side about huffing butane.
I also enjoyed "StereoPathetic SoulManure". really an underrated album.

Gotta admit, I'm loving Colors! It's slick and fun, but still quintessentially Beck. There are some killer hooks on this album. "I'm So Free", "Up All Night" and "Fix Me" are my faves so far (not counting the three singles he released beforehand)

I love Beck, but I didn't think I would love this album. I have to say it has really exceeded my expectations. It's a solid pop album all the way through, with a few classics sprinkled in (Dreams, Fix Me, I'm So Free). One of my favorite new releases of 2017 for sure.
Saw Beck’s “album release” show last week in LA. It was a lot of fun. Surprised they only played 4 new songs, but they sounded really good live. Loved “Dreams” when it was originally released so I’m glad I finally got to see that live. “Up All Night” was a lot of fun too. Hadn’t seen Beck since 2014 so I was surprised to see almost an entirely new band backing him. They were good.

I was there too. what a fun show! And that venue!!
the new band is super tight. much different feel than the Morning Phase crew (JMJ, Smokey Hormell, etc.) Still had Roger Manning on keys and i'm pretty sure the guitarist Jason Faulkner has toured a lot with Beck in the past
Definitely check out the tour if it comes to your town.
Also, the new album is growing on me. I get where hes coming from a bit more after reading a lot of interviews. Its really cool how they do the whole pop thing but it is actually all live instruments for the most part. put a lot of work in on it
