I have to say that all the vinyl variations are off putting. 5 to choose from. I like the look of the yellow indie, don't see the value in the deluxe but they are a bit vague about it. All versions are way overpriced IMO. £30 in the UK for the indie 1lp version.

Agreed - that is just too much. QOTSA does multiple versions too, and it's irritating because I want all of them. Of course, that would be silly, so I'm forced to choose, which is unpleasant.

sweet.  you probably will i would think.

wish he would play philly soon.  last time he was here i passed cause it was at a festival in Camden, NJ (which i hate that venue/place).  wish i saw him in '06 when he played philly, but missed that one.

Although there is two versions of the new foo fighters record, at least they have kept it simple and the price down.

Saw The show last night and it was really good! Ben's a solid performer, and the setlist was well-made to keep the crowd really going. Nothing fancy - just a good, quality show. And his band is really good. :) BTW, I can't believe he is 47.

    Oops, *Beck. :)

No, he didn't play the new song he released yesterday, but did play a couple other songs from the upcoming album, as it turns out, now that you posted the tracklist (could live without Wow being on the album, though it was good live). Here is the setlist. https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/beck/2017/orpheum-theatre-vancouver-bc-canada-13e2b155.html

I rate Beck highly and his live shows are great, seen him 3 times going right back to Odeley, but I don't think I'll be getting this new one, Dreams and Wow are just shit..

Yeah, Wow is the one that is really giving me pause... but we'll see! Wow was actually pretty good live btw. But the studio version.... yuck.

I do not like where this new album seems to be headed, judging from the singles so far. :frowning:

Interesting....I own no Beck CDs or vinyl.  I loved e-pro, jackass, sexx laws, etc. but never dug too deep because I didn't care much for his mainstream stuff (i.e. Devil's haircut, where it's at, etc.).

I LOVE Dreams and Up All Night....not too into Wow

I always thought Timebomb was a pretty kick ass tune (wouldn't mind hearing that live)

He was great opening for U2 in Minneapolis last weekend. Been a fan of his radio hits growing up, but never searched out his albums. I guess it's time to start!

As far as the new material, I've been digging dreams since it came out. At first I thought WOW was a joke aimed at Kanye or something. Its a bit catchy, definitely different but not really my style.
  • Mutations is a gem for chilling.  One of my all time favorite albums
“I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version.”
