STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — The local charity founded by Jerry Sandusky, the former Penn State defensive coordinator who earlier this month was charged with 40 counts of sexually abusing young boys, is preparing to fold as it tries to reconstruct what it knew, and did, about any suspicions or allegations against Sandusky over the years.

what i dont really get is, what joe paternos thought process was, or rather was not. If Mqueary is truthful that he went to Paternos house the next day to tell him about what he saw, i dont know how one lightly introduces that into the conversation. I assume Mqueary was upset and told Paterno in the manner any of us would, that is to say, in a serious manner, because it was a serious issue. I can also picture both of them discussing how to cover it up, which is exactly what happened.

I totally understand how one might be skeptical at first. Rumors maybe. Maybe they had misinterpreted what happened. But as I said, the seriousness which i assume Mcqueary told Paterno of what he had seen, would have most likely made me believe the account.

I dont know how someone like Mcqueary could see Sandusky frequently since that incident and not do something about it, be able to even exist in the same building and as faculty togather. Same with paterno. How could you carry on a relationship with someone like that?

Does anyone have any published press photos of paterno and sandusky post Mcqueary admission? How about of Mcqueary and Sandusky?

Another new allegation was revealed today. This one alleges over 100 instances of abuse from 1992-1996. The alleged victim filed a report with law enforcement Tuesday and has also filed suit against Sandusky, the charity, and Penn State. The suit alleges that Sandusky threatened the boy's family in order to keep him quiet.

He's also been accused of molesting one of his grandchildren (the son of one of his adopted sons). His daughter-in-law filed a restraining order against him.

That brings the total of known victims to at least 10, and I'm sure it's not the end of it since there were reports that the total was "closer to 20" after a hotline was set up for victims to report his abuse shortly after he was indicted.

It comes naturally for Penn State to protect its brand. And you can’t really blame the school for being in crisis-management mode, not now.
But it feels wrong anyway. It is just too cold now to see an institution trying to protect itself.

Penn State is buying up .XXX Internet domains with the school name and nicknames. Why? To try to prevent people from starting up porn sites with the school’s name in light of Penn State’s child sex abuse scandal.

“The cost was $200 per trademark, but this purchase should also prevent someone from buying a domain that includes our trademark along with other words,’’ Penn State spokesman Jeffrey Hermann told FoxNews.com in an email. “(For example) our purchase of nittanylion.xxx is intended to prevent someone from purchasing a url such as nittanyliongirls.’’

Please tell it isn't so...It's getting worrisome for this university, I think this is one of the last things this school should be doing.

The guy that wrote the article is right, that is the LEAST of their worries.

At first I thought the school would be ok, academically anyway, but I'm not so sure anymore. This is going to be in the news for the next decade.

I'm not sure an institution can withstand that kind of bad publicity for such a long time.

I really don't see the big deal with having an intern scoop up bad domain names so porn sites wont be named after the school.

I agree with you. It would only be a matter of time before one of those sites popped up with Sandusky photoshopped into some innapropriate pictures/scenes.

I agree it's not that big a deal however I'd rather see them pay more attention to victims already hurt and any potential victims to come forth in the future. For example if they recieve money from any Bowl games they should donate a portion or ALL of it to a victim fund or children that have been abused in the state of Pa.

They seem more intent on protecting the school name than what has apparently what happened to abused victims.

They already are dude, they announced yesterday that the $1.5 million in bowl proceeds they make which usually goes back into the athletic department will be donated to 2 charities that support victims of sexual violence. The students have also raised $500k for RAINN. That's $2 million in donations in less than a month.

But the media can keep concentraing on the negative though and the $200 domain names they bought.

Outstanding, well that's more like what i was talking about and more of what they should or need to do. More positive things in light of all the negativity that now surrounds the college. I wish they will continue in this way, the media it seems has kept this side of things quiet.
