I listened to the Halifax show the other day...and I have to say...I don't think it's as good as either of the St. John's shows.
I was at St. John's and Halifax, Listen Again my friend...Perhaps something is wrong with your Speakers??? This show was one of the top shows of the tour (along with Ottawa and The Gorge).
Look what I found in the "Framed Poster" Thread in the Porch:
"I then averaged out the points at each show to come up with an index of how varied the setlist for each show was. The lower the number, the more unique the setlist.
Here are the results (with 16.5 being about average):

12.759 Halifax, NS
13.192 London, ON

your two cents are welcome, as we all have our own and since no two people can have the exact same experience we are all entitled to have different points of view.
not only that, we all seem to be biased and lean more toward the shows we were actually in attendance for because, well, we were there, we have incredible memories and the songs are more meaningful.
i'm glad you enjoyed the St. John's shows. i wish i could have gone. i haven't listened to them yet, but i'm hoping to soon.
I'll agree with you. Go, Even Flow, Animal, Corduroy back to back after the opener was pretty intense. But I like the awe struck feeling of a show to hit you at the end, not a few songs into it.
Not that it was a bad show, but seeing all those people sitting down (especially those two entire sections druring the 2nd set) just kinda bummed me out. I never understood why people would sit down...
The feeling of hearing Hard to Imagine as an opener was pretty damn unbeatable if you ask me. I doubt that I will ever experience the excitement on hearing the first song as that gave me. Also being closely followed by Animal and Corduroy was pretty awesome, not to mention Breath and Solat both being in the first set.

i have not herd Saint John's but Halifax was my first pearl jam show and it was unreal way way better then the stones in Moncton and that was awsome to. we need pearl jam to play one of the three bigger cities in New Brunswick before they hit halifax this year although if they just hit halifax that will be ok as long as i get tickets ha ha.
I was at the Halifax show and both of the St.John’s shows and I would have to say that halifax was the best of the three. The set was better and the crowd was more involved. I am happy to have attended all shows but I would rank them
1 halifax
2 st john’s 1
3 st john’s 2
So I bid farewell to the Eastern town I never more will see;
But work I must so I eat this dust and breathe refinery.
Oh I miss the green and the woods and streams and I don't like cowboy clothes;
But I like being free and that makes me an idiot I suppose.
Halifax was fucking amazing. 15th row on the floor and I couldn't be happier.
I remember hearing hard to imagine during soundcheck and completely forgetting about it until hearing stone play those magical notes during the opener. Unfuckingbelievable.

Here's to Halifax 2006!
is this not the best rock n roll band in the world?
make me wanna holla,
throw up both my hands.. yea
Down the street you can hear her scream youre a disgrace
As she slams the door in his drunken face
And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green
Wow!
I am so impressed this is still such an active thread!
Halifax 2005 rocked!
The excitement came rushing back for me when I saw the Touring Van DVD!
Great piece of work!
Next thing to look forward to? ....The "christmas" single. Heh! Heh!
Anyone get theirs yet?
The world does not belong to us

pj played 30 songs..
seems to me that pj plays extended encores when the crowd shows it's ilk.

the show was even more impressive than this thread!!

that reminds me that i need to do something with those papers i picked up in Hali after the show. i was going to make a scrapbook but i don't have enough things to fill a book.
maybe i should laminate the reviews so they don't fade and yellow with time.
Thanks Clayton! That review is one any PJ fan should read!!

there's an awful lot of speculation and excitement in the Porch right now...it's almost overwhelming.
they must be going to spill the beans on something soon, either tour dates or an album release date.
the sharks smell blood and are circling!
interesting that i was about to make sure that this sticky did not sink any further.. thanks for bumping lanners..

Ya know, there's so much stuff floating around on the Porch that I don't even want to go there. Something is certainly coming down soon about the tour, else Kat wouldn't have made those comments that she did. Won't be long now. I'm surprised by the level of secrecy re: the tour cities - sometimes there are leaks by people who work at the various venues, or who know people at different agencies related to the tours etc. But so far I haven't heard a damn thing.
Also, would your fixation on the lottery have anything to do with that lucky fuck in NB who just won 12 mill ? I think about it alot. Its pretty bad when winning the lottery becomes your best bet for retirement income. **shakes head at how pathetic that is**
I remember it well... my first PJ show... my first concert really... the house lights were still up and it was early... half the crowd hadn't taken their seats but I was glued to mine... a cheer starts to erupt!... "is that Eddie?! is that Eddie on stage right in front of me!"
"Drifting, drifting, drifting away.
I got myself a mansion, then I gave it away.
It's not the world that's heavy, just the things that you save.
And I'm drifting, drifting away."

Mh
I don't know...it just seemed like the songs that they played just kicked you in the ass.
Go...Even Flow...Animal...Corduroy.
I Am Mine...Small Town...Black...RVM...Whiping...Do the Evo...Spin the Black Circle (LP's rock by the way!)
Same for #2 Last Exit...Animal...SOLAT...Hail Hail...Corduory...
Then you have the amazing songs in between, that I'm not gong to type out cause it would take me all night and I'm too lazy! haha
Just find that the songs run together so good.
That's just my 2 cents.
