Woohoo :-) I'm not good at maths but still I think you did it wrong according to your statements, I think the line should rather go:

    1996 - 2000 - 2006 - 2014 (2006+8) - you added 8 to 2000 in lieu of 2006
    1996 - 2000 - 2006 - 2015 (2006+9) - you added 9 to 2000 in lieu of 2006

So it seems a bit longer than 2009 :-)
A compliment for us is a compliment for you.

well two dates arent really enough for extrapolation but i considered two possibilities
    A) every waiting is two years longer than the last one = 4 - 6 - 8
    B) every waiting is 50% longer than the last one = 4 - 6 - 9
i hope i am wrong, we will see

    LMAO :D I like the logic :D

The waiting drove me mad... ;)

  • To keep things short:
    - I never called you stupid
    - before you call something stupid, lame or accusing you should get some informations about what you are talking about - if you don't have time to do it then be silent about the whole case cause you may hurt feelings of a lot of people
    - I know that there's a lot of people who didn't get the joke, but none of them made a public statement that the action is lame or anything like that

    Cheers

P.S. I think there's a thin line between being proud of your nationality and being arrogant. I don't think we crossed that line in Prague or anywhere on this tour. Even when I said that Poles saved the show I was just speaking an opinions I heard in Berlin. You have right to disagree with all those opinions, and I'm okay with that.
P.S.2 A lot of photos from the concert (check sub-pages of that thread), also some video clips:

Oups ... all this seems to be more politic like than it should be.

Well, if you got plenty of time to google everything is discussed and more importantly lived it doesn't mean the others got it too. This is not politics so we shouldn't be expected to know everything. I have just said my feeling about the whole flag thing and if you feel so irritated by my "stupidity" - as you have called it - of not understanding a joke, I'm sorry for you.

I did not understand the flag action and the only thing I said was that I would not do so if in any concert taking place in Poland or anywhere else. Seems like there's that difference between our two nations in general - yes, there are weird people in every single nation, yes, there are jurks in every single nation. I just find you, the Poles, a bit way too much arrogant to _my_ taste, as a Czech.

Concerning the girl with a sheet: I was some 10 metres from her so your suggestion would be somehow useless, don't you think?

This just proves my opinion about Polish arrogancy true ... sorry to be so frank.

I'm also sorry that _my fanview_ of the concert made the Poles "angry". But I can't help a Czech saying "Potrefená husa se vždycky ozve." coming up my mind. Sorry.

But enough of this useless babbling. I enjoyed the concert very very much. The band was great and me - a Czech, imagine that! - danced my ass out and sang my lungs out ...

  • This will be a long one...

We arrived at the arena just after 11 am. We expected the touring bus people to be at the front of the 10C line. They were, but there were only a few other non-bus people in line ahead of us. So it looked like we'd be among the first 20 people into the arena.

The people near the front of the line were really friendly. There were a couple of guys who were going to the Zagreb and Athens shows afterwards. The two guys behind us were cool Americans from Texas who had been to a bunch of European shows already.

The line got to around 100 people by late afternoon. Then there was some confusion. The line originally formed outside a ticket window with a sign that read "Fan Club." Around ticket pickup time, a ticket guy in that booth told the touring bus people at the front of the line that he knew nothing about the Ten Club, and that there probably was another place to pick up tickets. Those of us at the front of the line who had been waiting all day were worried that the waiting was for nothing, since everyone would get out of order running to a new line.

Turns out the ticket pickup area was around the corner in a different spot. Fortunately the 10C line to enter the arena was right next to where the original line was, so those of us at the front had our guest wait in the arena entry line while the 10C member picked up the tickets. As has been standard during this tour, there were 150 pairs of Ten Club tickets sold for the show.

All seemed to be in order, but as has been typical, the front of the line started to grow wider instead of the whole line growing longer. Most of the new people who joined the front were just there to chat with the touring bus folks, so no big deal. But some of them just walked up to the side of the line in the front with the hope of getting in early. This guy was the most blatant scammer:

    http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y243/nickrand/Prague1.jpg

After calling him out in front of everyone (thanks Texas dudes!), he eventually moved back a bit. A couple other guys tried the same thing. Don't mean to be a prick here, but there is a big advantage to getting a front row rail spot on this tour if you don't want to be smooshed.

Anyway, as we were let into the arena, there were big metal detector machines that everyone went through. So some people with very little in their pockets got in quick. Others had a little wait.

We eventually got past security, ran into the arena, and got a rail spot in front of Stone.

    Now onto the show.

We didn't know what to expect of Tarantula Ad, a NYC band. Turns out most people were not into them very much. They have a progressive sound that isn't made for arena rock types. But their blend of classical with rock--without many vocals--was interesting. They used many different instruments and seemed passionate in getting the most out of them. Their violinist/pianist was like an uber-psychotic Flea; he provided the passion that complemented the artistry of the drummer.

They announced during the set that they will be changing their name to Priest Bird. They weren't sure what to do with their extra Tarantula Ad cd's, so the drummer started throwing them out into the crowd. Once their set was over, he threw out more cd's. The head PJ security guy yelled at him to stop throwing them, which gave us a good chuckle.

We saw the violinist in the 10C section just before PJ took the stage.

The arena wasn't completely sold out, which was a bit of a letdown. But PJ got its usual huge ovation and started into MFC, which lead perfectly into Last Exit. We could tell the arena's sound wasn't the best; early on, Ed shrugged his shoulders to the sound tech area as if to say this is the best it would get. We couldn't notice any big difference from the front row.

Life Wasted was a real crowd pleaser.

Sad seemed to be played perfectly; we'll have to see how it sounds on the boot.

    Alone was a huge surprise.

After a Man quintet started the first encore, a feverish Alive closed it.

At the start of the second encore, the whole band sans Eddie came out. We could tell Bushleaguer was coming. We had a good view of the stairs at the back of the stage, and sure enough, we saw Eddie sneak up, head behind the stage, and ready himself to lurk on stage. Here's a clip I took:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qCCsjZcRo0

We're used to hearing Comotose late in shows now that we know it is hard on Eddie's voice, but it was a welcome treat. Given to Fly was a late-set surprise, followed by an inspired Rocking in the Free World.

Ed tried to speak a lot of Czech during the show. The crowd was good but not among the best I've heard during the tour. Fortunately the band seemed to be having a really good time. We ended up getting an Eddie guitar pick, so this will be a night we'll remember forever. Great energy, a few real setlist surprises, good crowd, and our favorite band having a good time.

Thanks to the 10C for another shot at great seats, and thanks to PJ for making a great Friday night in Prague a special one.
