fot those who don't speak czech:

ed introduced dead man, man of the hour and leatherman each as a song about a man - tato píseň je o muži - (which was nothingman obviously as well, he just didn't say it) and then he introduced better man as a song about a woman - tato píseň je o ženě

    great gig

  • What an awesome gig! The band truely seemed to be enjoying themselves with lots of close up playing between Jeff, Stone and Mike, at one point Jeff seemed was on his knees as Mike was letting rip with a solo! Ed spoke lots of Czech - no idea what he was saying but it certainly went down with the crowd who were laughing a lot at what he said! Personal highlights were hearing Alone, Sad and the Man trilogy (although not forgetting the other 2 Man songs aswell!). The crowd were in great form, particularly when singing along to Betterman and Daughter. This will be a great boot to get, it was a pleasant surprise to have MFC and Last Exit so early in the set - as always it seemed to end far too quickly....ah well....!

  • Hi everybody!!! Ive just returned from Prague after 8 hour journey...And it was terrific, the greatest performance ive ever seen. It was the first time for me 2 see PJs live and I havent dreamed about something like before. Great kick off, amazing even flow & do the evolution "classics" and 5-man set, after better man i nearly lost my voice...and if there's no1 in prague for me it must be Rocking in the Free World, ligths started to glow and everyone to scream and leap...annnnnddddd mike's Y-led end solo i surely will remember. THANK YOU, PEARL JAM....

    Best regards from slovakia

  • Well, this was my first PJ gig ever and I am thrilled with this experience.

The setlist looked nearly like my wishlist (Sad,Alone,Insignificance,Jeremy,Leatherman,Rockin in the free world to name few...) and the band was playing great- I didn´t expect them to have such a great time but I was surprised. Mike threw tens of picks to the crowd,he was jumping around, Eddie was speaking czech between few songs which was great to hear althougt I am from Slovakia.

I was standing about 15 mtres off the stge facing opposite with Eddie and MAtt so I had the best place I could get according to the fact that I bought my ticket in the last 15 minutes of on-line sale.

The highlight for me as a drummer was Matt´s ass-kicking one minute long drum solo after Mike during Evenflow.:)

  • only a wow on my lips again.

Thought nothing could top Arnheim, but again the band was on fire yesterday.

so: thanks so much PJ and Co. for that wonderful night again.

Great tunes (even some new ones making some songs even better -mike, jeff and stone, you are my heroes), a great great setlist (thanks PJ again; you put on again some of my faves... sad, marker, save it for later tag!!! - what a version!!!, all so great).
And I need to say the Kafka's sons and daughters truly know how to rock out.
Again it was a wonderful atmosphere and this time I made it into the ten club section (thanks dear L. :) )... wow, what a bummer to be so close to the stage and still able to dance your brain of and indeed be given to fly :)

wow, did I say this already?

Now I am all excited for Berlin... bright blue sky, sun, warm temperature and a beautiful outdoor venue...

...wow, what an European conquer all in PEACE and ROCK they do here!!! :)
there is no way to peace, peace is the way!
...the world is come undone, I like to change it everyday but change don't come at once, it's a wave, building before it breaks.
  • yeah
    great show
btw did Eddie forgott Jeff when introducing the band members
or am i wrong and deaf?

    That's a cool poster!
  • made the journey over to Prague... unsure as to whether it could possibly top Reading Festival performance...but it was SO good it hasn't sunk in yet!! The set list was fantastic...all my personal favorites and more... comotose was superb, yellow Ledbetter brilliant, Rockin' in the free world... the list is almost endless.... Given to fly.... such a great set... wasn't sure that the atmosphere would be as good as Reading, nothing of a mosh-pit, so not as much jumping around as I would like... its harder to jump around when you are jumping on your own!! ... but it was a great night.

and almost did it again last night in Berlin..by which time Jeff started looking (jokingly) upset..the crowd reminded him though... :)
  • Just a question for the people who were in Prague, how was tarantula ad ???
I'll be in Vienna and i don't know them i've heard 2 songs and i can't say that i was really fascinated
Beavis : Is this Pearl Jam?
Butt-head: This guy makes faces like Eddie Vedder.
Beavis: No, Eddie Vedder makes faces like this guy.
Butt-head: I heard these guys, like, came first and Pearl Jam ripped them off.
Beavis: No, Pearl Jam came first.
    Butt-head: Well, they both suck.
  • ad Jeff: yeah. i tried to scream jeff when Eddie forgott him in Prague but I was far away from the stage and nobody joined me.

ad Tarantula A.D.: they are OK, but i think they dont fit in those large venues
it will be fine to hear them in a smaller club though

there is one thing: i would love to have the bootleg of the Prague show, but I dont have a credit card, so i would like to ask, if there is somebody in Prague with a credit card and with a good internet connection, who would be so kind and download it for me, i would give him the money of course or we can share the expanses
if anybody would be so kind, just send me a private message, thank you

Rock on Prague! A great gig and a beautiful city. Atmosphere was good even though we were on the left side just next to the 10C entrance. Nice setlist and I think it would have been too perfect if RVM and State of love would have been there aswell...

For some reason it seems that I'm a bit too tired to analyze it right now :-)

ps. this was the first PJ gig ever for me and it went straight to the top 1!!!
(so what's the point of going on anymore?)

Wasn't there but I'd love to talk with some Czech people (who actually speak Czech:D), you see, I'm studying Czech and it would be cool to communicate you Czech jammers... I can add you to msn messenger or mail or something...
    THANK YOU, LOSTDAWG!

  • Not a bad start to another weekend of Pearl Jam... 5 man songs in a row.... a pretty good crowd.... and a good party city. Tarantual ad were interesting, but their trick got old quickly.

The sound was diabolical. We could only here mike.. mainly cos of our position. If this had been my only concert of the tour, I would have been really pissed off, but it was wonderful to hear things from a different perspective.

I'll get the blog finished as soon as I get a chance, until then, here's some photos:

??? you're kidding about Paris right?
Was front row in front of Stone and I had actually room to dance...nothing like Paris! thank god for that! and certainly a very nice change after the Italian stupid crowd....the fact there was a front pit probably had to do with it...though my friends in the second pit thought the crowd was actually really lame.

Setlist was really sweet... happy gig for me for sure.

  • What a night! Loads of energy. Attended a conference next morning, i couldnt sit, just had to move ! Lord, what a night!
Seen them in Prague last time in the good old Sports hall, this new - mccdonald style building isnt really "underground" rock'n'roll friendly, but thanks to all the beer and "funny" cigarettes passing around even in the VIP zone, everything was forgotten....

Thanks for all. shame it was that "short", we would have survived till the morning, no doubt.

I just wanna scream - thank you!
