omfg!!! just got up now and the smile was the same as it was last nite! massive!!!
class setlist, loads of old stuff and solat was superb,as was rockin in the free world! the crowd were mental at first but it did calm down and everyone was looking out for each other which was nice to see(only in the north!!!)
but my god what a band! the drum solo in evenflow was genius and jeff started properly rockin out during one song, think it was evolution,he looked ace, just made me smile!! so many people shouting for pj at a festival! it was like a dream!!
thought they might have done a 'who' song as they were in leeds(live at leeds, the greatest live album ever!) but nevermind,a bit of mr young went down a treat!!
thanks guys, come back soon you know you want to.....
When I was born, the doctor came out to the waiting room and said to my father, I'm very sorry. We did everything we could. But he pulled through......
That was fuckin amazing! The lads were on top form last night. It was my first time at a Festival and thought I would have no chance of getting near the front - but in the end I managed to get about three/four people from the front on the Mcready side of the stage!! Mike was superb tonight - he looked like he was loving it! He was blowing kisses to the crowd at one point.
Eddies voice was spot on too - and after looking and sounding really worried about the crowds safety when they first came out he relaxed during the set and we could all tell he was having a good time.
Stone was Stone (ie very calm and relaxed) and Jeff was rocking out all over the place - I particularly enjoyed his 'Kiss' style jump (can't remember during which song he did this).
Mat's drum sound was amazing tonight - and the drum solo; well what can I say? Eat your heart out John 'Bonzo' Bonham!!
First time we have got to see Boom and he looked great, he had the biggest cheesiest grin on his face all night.
The set was class, totally rockin! Green Disease was a major highlight as was the brilliant version of Alive. Rockin in the Free World was a great closer to a masterpiece of a Setlist. Perfect for a Festival headliner - If there is only one Boot you get this year, get this one!
LOVED IT LOVED IT LOVED IT, was front left Mike and Jeff side talked to loads of nice people everybody round us having a great time. Lets hope its not another 6 yrs we have to wait.
Enjoy Sunday everyone whos going cant wait to see the highlights on bbc3.
Pity they didn't show any of the show on bbc. Hopefully they'll show Reading. Wish I had a ticket for that now.

Superb gig - myself and the girlfriend went for the day to Leeds - blew us away.
Favourite tracks:
Why Go
Daughter with Its OK Tag (my girlfriend's favourite)
It's Evolution (Baby!!)
Alive (of course...)
If anyone has caught the PJ live bug and needs to see them again, we have a couple of spare tickets to the Arnhem show on Tuesday next week in Holland. Not for profit of course - just looking to recoup our mistaken extra purchase!
Might even consider a reduction for true and worthy fans!
Please PM me if interested.
Keep On Rockin In The Free World...
Decipher the illusion, know the facts but retain the magic.
There was just one guy in front of me I couldn't get around! I was just of to the right of the centre stage and could hardly breath when it looked like Eddie was going to throw a tamberine into the crowd, bit of a crowd serge!
Just got back from Leeds, fantastic show. Got in the pit straight after Placebo finshed. Got centre about 5 rows from front. Even got on the screen a couple of times according to my wife who back by the sound/lighting tent. Sound was fantastic, really clear, even when I 'retired' the sound/lighting tent for encore it sounded almost as good, not as loud though. The set as a posted elsewhere was quite old-school but who cares it's Pearl Jam. Highlights for me were Daughter, SOLAT, Lukin and Hail Hail. Shame it wasn't on TV I'd love to re-live it.
Just back home now in London after an amazing experience in Leeds last night.
Myself and RJB from the board drove up from London yesterday afternoon (nightmare bank holiday weekend traffic!) to make it in time for the end of Placebo. I was a bit bummed that we missed Slayer but we intend to make up for that by getting ourselves to Reading nice and early tomorrow.
There were plenty of PJ enthusiasts in the crowd which was good to see as I was not sure how the UK crowd would be. The best conversation I had was with two youngs guys of all of 18 behind us who saw my PJ t-shirt and asked if I could tell them what PJ were like as they had never really heard of them! This led me to two realisations (a) being 30 makes me old at a festival and (b) I have been in the fan club for almost two thirds of their lives!!
The wait for the boys to come on was intense - especially for RJB who has never seen them live before. The excitement of the moment was almost ruined by the music they played directly before the boys came on - I don't know about others but to me but playing "Come as you Are" was pretty fucking offensive.
The boys came on about ten minutes before they were slotted to as the main stage was running early. Ed came out and asked everyone to look after each other - it was pretty evident that he was concerned about playing to a festival crowd given the band's last experience and several times during the set you could see him go to the side of stage (usually while Mike was shredding) and take a good look at how things were going in the mosh.
Bets were on about the opener and incredibly I managed to call the Go/Animal double-header! The boys were really tight throughout the set and the reception from the crowd was great. The sound was quite good from where I was (Mike side) - the bass in particular was really loud which was great for me as I've struggled to hear Jeff at a few previous shows that I've been to.
As you can see from the set list the boys really ramped it up for the first 9 songs before calming it down just a little with Small Town. Ed (as always) thanked everyone for coming out and mentioned that they hadn't been to the UK for a while and never to Leeds (although Matt confirmed that Soundgarden had played at Leeds at some stage).
My personal highlights were the Go/Animal opener, Whipping and RITFW (where Ed came down from the stage and walked the full length of the barricade). The set list was pretty much a 'greatest hits' package although the absence of Betterman and Jeremy was evident - I expect that Ed had carefully considered the set list for Leeds and decided to hold a few crowd favourites back to ensure that people got something a bit different tomorrow night at Reading.
As has already been mentioned, Ed's parting speech involved him telling everyone about a dream which he could only describe as 'grotesque' which involved him watching George Bush fucking some nameless woman (although Ed noted George was currently fucking all of us!!). To para-phrase -in his dream Ed had noticed that no condom was being used and he subsequently had yelled for George to pull out as his fear was that another Bush would mean less trees!! Bizarre yes - but one would expect nothing less from Ed!!
After a 3 year break from seeing the boys live (my last foray was in Australia in 2003) - it was great to see them absolutely giving it some only a few metres away from me last night. I am pumped for Reading tomorrow and looking forward to the PJ only shows in Marseille, Paris, Verona, Milan, Prague and Berlin. See you other ten clubbers there!!
The excitement of the moment was almost ruined by the music they played directly before the boys came on - I don't know about others but to me but playing "Come as you Are" was pretty fucking offensive.
the lights have created big lines down the screen, but its ok quality
That's the greatest thing I ever saw.

Yep, it's on BBC3 (or BBC4, I forget) tomorrow night.
loved "it's ok" tag, and the energy of go at the beggining.
right at the end my gfried had to take a pee while RITFW came on. afterwards she comes back and say.
gf: "you know the middle guy......"
me: "what?"
gf: "the midlle guy . . . . the singer bloke....."
me: "yeah?"
gf "he looks likethat guy out of the bee gees!"

Best moment was everyone singing the do-do-do-do-do-do-do part at the end of Black and then Ed singing it as well, imitating us. It was so funny.
The version of Even Flow was one of the best I've ever heard, with the class drum solo. I also enjoyed hearing Do The Evolution, Lukin and Porch.
I was right near the front and I think the sound quality was amazing although I think on a couple of songs the mic was a bit quiet.
Bring on the boot!
