It's rather ironic that the grill features a "Loyalty Program".

Hard to blame a guy for leaving for an extra $60M.

altho I could give a shit....I could blame a guy.

$190M is like you or me making $100,000 a year for the next NINETEEN HUNDRED years

Although he is getting an extra $60M.

The Cardinals run a tight ship and don't have big market revenue. Probably wise of them to not tie up so much in just one person.

Cards arent a big market team, but they cant be struggling too much financially. They sell out just about every game, don't they? That ballpark is great...

They also have among the highest ticket prices and fans that shell out the dough for merch.

  • So much for a repeat. A Poo-holes-less Cards team means 3rd place in the NL Central.

    cubs
    houston
    pittsburgh

    have no chance

it would be a three team race between cincy, milwaukee and the cards

getting to the WS would be difficult tho.

They have a pretty goodshot, but they're gonna have to keep ridin the wave of good luck they had last season. If they can get into the playoffs I'd put them against anybody. Wainright, Carp and Garcia is a pretty great 1st 3. Holliday had kinduva weird season last year, so he'll be lookin to bounce back. Of course Berkman will have to play out of his ass again, and Freese or Craig will have to put their big boy pants on.

  • as a cards fan for the last 36 years today is a dark day in st. louis. we as fans are used to ball players leaving their teams to come here and play. we are not used to a player the caliber of pujols, who was so involved in the community through his charity work, the face of the franchise, and to a large extent the face of the city, to leave on his own accord. i was bummed out when the the blues ran brett hull out of town and when the rams ran kurt warner out of town, but today feels a thousand times worse than that...

to pujols i say this.. god made your decision for you?? really??

all the money you make will never buy back your soul...

Soul, really???? They had their chance to sign him well before his FA. The following story hits the nail onit's head.

I can understand Pujols not going since he left as a free agent and it could be a very awkward situation for him. LaRussa should have gone, though. He's not working for another team so it wouldn't be a situation where there might have been animosity towards him from anyone. The players probably would have enjoyed seeing him for one last celebration of their win. I know he's had 2 previous White House visits after a World Series, but I can't imagine that getting old.

    Not surprised either way.

Pujols prolly didn't wanna ruffle any feathers.

    Larussa is kinduva schmuck.

loshe was a beast tonight. the guy cant throw more than 100 pitches without getting fatigued but was very sharp nonetheless.

glad to see WS hero Freese pick up where he left off. Gave my fantasy team a nice night.

cards picking up where they left off. 4-1 without no pujols or larussa. so far, so good.
