  • I realize that playing Maine is a long shot, but there outdoor areas that they could play such as Scarborough Downs, fair grounds etc... It's a tough sell to play Maine, but pushing it out there can't hurt.

I don’t think any place except the Portland or Augusta Civic Centers would be large enough - both currently seat about 6,700, less than half of the capacity of Worcester’s DCU center & those seats sold out fast for the Oct. 15th show. Does anyone know how many seats there will be when the Portland Civic Center renovations are done?

I'm pretty sure that they were in talks to play the Oxford defeat back in 96, but things didn't work out, so they turned the Augusta CC instead.

The new CCCC will hold about the same; about 8,000 for concerts. A little small, but doable, I suppose.

The Bangor waterfront has gotten huge acts and seems to be the most likely place. Some huge country acts. Arcade Fire next summer. I haven't heard great things about the venue, but they seem to have no issue getting name to play there.

The eastern prom in Portland (where Mumford&Sons played) would be the best, but least likely. Legit hometown show with great views. And those without tickets could just hangout up in the street to hear it. Would be great!

Eastern Prom show would be absolutely ridiculous. Can you imagine how many people would show up for this?!? I would probably drop dead with excitement.

    Old Vaudeville Routine (I think):
Vaudevillian #1: I just got back from Maine, beautiful up there.
Vaudevillian #2: Oh yeah? I got a sister lives up in Maine.
    Vaudevillian #1: Oh, really? Bangor?
Vaudevillian #2: (disgusted and outraged) Bang 'er! She's my sister!

    bah-dum-crash!

    Too funny! :P

I still think an indoor show would be better for Maine. Anyone who lives here knows that if you plan on something outdoors on a certain date, it sure as hell is gonna rain that day. I also would rather enjoy the band without fighting of a mosquito & black fly feeding frenzy!

    My Maine Wishlist song :

I wish I was in Portland, Maine, where Pearl Jam played for me.
I wish I was in the front row, near Mike & Eddie V.
I wish I didn't have to drive to Mass. to see their show
To see the band I’d drive for miles, but I'd rather just stay home
I wish I was on Casco Bay, at DiMillo’s before the show
In Maine where I can find my way without paying any tolls
