Going to a cool restaurant next week. Here's their bourbon/whiskey list:

Think I need to try the Four Roses Single Barrel Garces Selection (half pour...)
Almost finished a plain old Four Roses Bourbon at home.
Does everyone drink bourbon on the rocks??? I do, even though I drink Scotch & Irish neat, usually with a splash of water.Spectrum 10/27/09; New Orleans JazzFest 5/1/10; Made in America 9/2/12; Phila, PA 10/21/13; Phila, PA 10/22/13; Baltimore Arena 10/27/13; Phila, PA 4/28/16; Phila, PA 4/29/16; Fenway Park 8/7/16; Fenway Park 9/2/18; Asbury Park 9/18/21; Camden 9/14/22; Las Vegas 5/16/24; Las Vegas 5/18/24; Phila, PA 9/7/24; Phila, PA 9/9/24; Baltimore Arena 9/12/24; Pittsburgh 5/16/25; Pittsburgh 5/18/25

Got a gift card at least. Is it reasonable to think they would charge half of those prices for a one-ounce "sample?" 2 ounces of whiskey is kind of a lot for me, honestly.
Yeah that's how I take it too.Cliffy6745 wrote:Awesome spot. You been there yet?

I'm on a red meat hiatus in preparation.
Anybody drink rye? Or is that impermissible in this thread? I haven't had too much of it.Spectrum 10/27/09; New Orleans JazzFest 5/1/10; Made in America 9/2/12; Phila, PA 10/21/13; Phila, PA 10/22/13; Baltimore Arena 10/27/13; Phila, PA 4/28/16; Phila, PA 4/29/16; Fenway Park 8/7/16; Fenway Park 9/2/18; Asbury Park 9/18/21; Camden 9/14/22; Las Vegas 5/16/24; Las Vegas 5/18/24; Phila, PA 9/7/24; Phila, PA 9/9/24; Baltimore Arena 9/12/24; Pittsburgh 5/16/25; Pittsburgh 5/18/25

I just tried the Hudson Rye last week. It was quite spicy, with def overtones of cinnamon. I tried it not knowing it was $21 a glass.

Forecastle Festival had a great Bourbon Lodge in which you could sample 4 different bourbons. I tasted them all
multiple times
Woodford is by far the best followed by Four Roses. And if you come this way, you definitely have to hit the Bourbon Trail. And any decent bourbon has to be from Kentucky otherwise it's just whiskey (so says the girl from KY :P )Are we getting something out of this all-encompassing trip?
Seems my preconceptions are what should have been burned...
