5-6 stores in what seems to be a loose business partnership across three states hardly makes cheapo a national chain. by that extension, the fetus is no better as they are a part of cims, which has like 80 stores under its umbrella.

That's not really the same thing. CIMS was formed to rival the chain stores. I don't know how loose they are when they shuttle CDs between stores in different cities. Unless it's commonplace to see local MN bands with self-released CDs with 10 copies of said release in Austin, TX. :?

it IS pretty much the same thing. unless i am mistaken, the ones in other states are not owned by the same guy who owns the cities' stores. so the relationship definitely is a partnership among independently owned and operated stores, just like cims. also, the austin store closed recently (austinites must not "get" good quality minnesota music!). so i guess it's 4 or 5 stores in the "chain" now.

To those going to SG this weekend, I am jealous (not that jealous, as I will be in Arizona, but could be my only chance to see SG this close to home, so I am jealous nonetheless).

also - good luck on the lottery for Wrigley for those of us. My wife and I are crossing our fingers!!

AZ sounds fantastic with how ugly and sloppy it is out. SG should be awesome! The sets have been great so far.

As for the lottery, I think it will turn out well for more of us than people think. Can't wait!

What's with the attitude? Anyhow, not worth getting into a tizzy over. Agree to disagree, I guess. Peace.

i really think this is going to be one big fan club show. i doubt there is the ticket allotment restrictions that the places they usually play have.

Well and if Theo's as much of a PJ fan as he purports to be, I think he'll understand the fan club demand for tickets. I think, generally speaking, they may be able to accommodate more 10c requests than usual.

No River's Edge in 2013 = no PJ festival possibility this summer, at least for MN. Knowing that they are doing fall US dates means it wouldn't have happened anyway, but I know some of you were hoping that if PJ played here, it wouldn't be a festival show. Looks like a "PJ @ River's Edge" booking won't be possible until 2014 at the earliest anyway.

... granted most of you probably have heard the Bad Radio demos and such, but it sounds like these demos are crisper and there's a few new songs that haven't been on the previous demos. I'm still somewhat of a newb to the PJ world so I haven't heard any of it

That's interesting that they canceled it. I guess it wasn't as much of a success as everyone thought. Although it would have been interesting to see what the they drew this year.

My summer is pretty packed so I prefer PJ to COME PLAY MINNESOTA in the fall anyways. :D

Looks like a "PJ @ River's Edge" booking won't be possible until 2014 at the earliest anyway.

    Boo!!

That's interesting that they canceled it. I guess it wasn't as much of a success as everyone thought. Although it would have been interesting to see what the they drew this year.

My summer is pretty packed so I prefer PJ to COME PLAY MINNESOTA in the fall anyways. :D

I really liked the idea of a festival that could draw national acts right in my hometown. Hopefully they can come back in 2014.
