Maybe PJ will be playing Lollapalooza 2013. I would definitely travel to Chicago for that. Wrigley Field would be icing on the cake. I love the Cubs.

I didn't make it in 07, but saw Foo Fighters there in 11--incredible show. I've got it all planned out for PJ...close Lollapalooza Aug 4 with special appearance by the Foo Fighters, then play Wrigley Field on Aug 5. Cubs are hosting the Dodgers Aug 1-4. Perfect

We all probably have Pearl Jam #1 on a top five list of some sorts. Given that, what are the other bands/artist are in your top 5? Who don't you miss when they come to town?
I would say:
Arctic Monkeys
Butch Walker
Down and Above
The White Stripes

Thanks Derek...getting there, but today as rough!
Let's see...there are all kinds of factors and variables for top 5 lists (i.e. who I'm currently listening to a lot, all-time favorites, all-time indie favorites, all-time metal/hip-hop etc). So I'll go with my top 5 currently...
Bear Hands
El-P
Neil Young
Beach House
The Coup
One or two of those are also on other lists...

So I did the ticket test and received my email today letting me know I didn't win any of the prizes. Thats all fine and well that I didn't get any of the rare prizes, but did anyone else feel super bummed for a second just by seeing the words "sorry, you didn't win a pare of Ten Club tickets" (assuming this will be the regular response for when a real tour is on the line). I mean, I know there weren't real tickets at stake here, but I just HOPE I never get that email when I am trying for real tickets... in 2013!!!! BUMP

I just can't see how it will be any better or any worse. I think getting tickets during the last few "big" PJ sales (PJ20/Europe/Canada) had a lot to do with luck anyway.

Agreed. But I do see the point people make about the persistent ones being "rewarded". However there are so many other factors that influence if you are able to make that F5 commitment. I am luck enough to have a job that I could (most of the time) sit and my desk and hit refresh, or take the day off. Not everyone has that luxury (teachers come to mind). Does that make them any less committed - doubtful.

See but that's the part that gets me. We have no clue if the most persistent people got tickets and if the people who gave the least effort didn't. There's no correlation between being persistent or effort or trying hard and ending up with tickets, at least that we know of. Until we do, its just as likely that luck had something to do with it, and not effort.
I think the best argument for why scoring tickets in the last few "big" sale rounds through 10c had to do with luck and not effort is the fact that 10c did NOT intend for F5 to be the primary way of getting tickets.
It just bugs me that so many people complained for so long about the last few 10c pre-sales, and then when they try to make a change, people say that the old way was better. We can't have it both ways.

My first experience buying PJ tix was for PJ20... I should get an F5 tattoo for the amount of stress and anxiety it made me go through. I felt like it was definiate luck that came from being persistant (I sure didn't just try for an hour and let it go) BUT, that being said, I understand and appreciate that they've been continually trying to update their system. Since I do not know what the "old way" (although I've heard it's similar to the "choose your priority show..") I don't have much to compare it to, but I assume they would hope to make it better without going to an arcaic form. LET'S JUST BE THANKFUL THEY OFFER AN ALTERNATIVE TO TICKETMASTER PRE-SALE!!!
It just bugs me that so many people complained for so long about the last few 10c pre-sales, and then when they try to make a change, people say that the old way was better. We can't have it both ways.
Yes! Didn't most people say they liked the lottery system for the Missoula show? I found it strange that there was so much negativity with this test. Maybe it was only a few, very vocal people! But I agree, you can't have it both ways, and certainly a lottery system is much less stressful for all!
Getting back on track.... Play Minnesota PJ!

i'm on board with the ticketing system. mainly it gives everyone a chance at tickets, and anyone complaining about that is selfish. yes, it stinks we won't know right away, but doesn't anybody remember the times we had to send in money orders and wait, not knowing FOR SURE if we'd even get tix?... the only fear i have is that scalpers (or abusers) will create multiple accounts to maximize their potential.
anyway, just went to cheapo vinyl in saint paul only to find they are consolidating their vinyl and cd/dvd shops into the smaller vinyl store. all that glorious vinyl is now condensed into the back third of the store. ugh.

Oh no! How will they fit all the CD/DVD stuff in there? I would think they'd use the other store. Also, parking on that side of the street is awful! "Ugh" is right...

the newly vacant space is looking likely to be a bw3. i like bw3, but not there.
a few weeks back the clerk told me this move *may* be coming, but i had completely forgotten. the reason for moving to the vinyl side instead of vice versa was because of the rent. i guess the owner is cheap and often acts on whims.

Maybe PJ will be playing Lollapalooza 2013. I would definitely travel to Chicago for that. Wrigley Field would be icing on the cake. I love the Cubs.
The Lollapalooza show in 07 was pretty awesome...
Perfect

The White Stripes
PS - Play MN PJ
PSS - Hope you are feeling better, Joe.
Bear Hands
El-P
Neil Young
Beach House
The Coup
One or two of those are also on other lists...

... You're welcome Ten Clubbers!
I must admit, it was a little bummy :(
Lots of hate for the new system - not sure where I am on it.
Excited to test it out when PJ plays Minnesota, though!

+1 to that!

Anyway....MINNESOTA - PEARL JAM - 2013 :corn:
What what what? Prince? When?
Prince will perform two shows each night on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at the Dakota Jazz Club.
January 16-18
The shows escalate in price, starting with $70 for the "Soundcheck" show, $150 for "Jam" and $250 for "Surprise."
:fp:

anyway, just went to cheapo vinyl in saint paul only to find they are consolidating their vinyl and cd/dvd shops into the smaller vinyl store. all that glorious vinyl is now condensed into the back third of the store. ugh.
Oh no! How will they fit all the CD/DVD stuff in there? I would think they'd use the other store. Also, parking on that side of the street is awful! "Ugh" is right...

a few weeks back the clerk told me this move *may* be coming, but i had completely forgotten. the reason for moving to the vinyl side instead of vice versa was because of the rent. i guess the owner is cheap and often acts on whims.
