I kinda thought Arms Aloft killed a bit of the energy after the four back to back kick ass openers. Other than that no complaints. Such a good setlist. This was my 3rd show and I didn't think a show would top Kansas City but this did for sure. I cant believe we got Once, I Got Id, Daughter w/ WMA/its okay, and Inside Job and of course indifference to close it was perfect. The only other song that could've made me flip out more would've been hard to imagine. The crowd was amazing too by the way. I got to give a big thanks to Gus in fargo and 10c for the great floor tickets. Such an awesome way to spend a weekend. Canada is all right with me too. But anyway, thanks to all involved in the preparty, it was a good time. Being my first time at one I wasn't sure what to expect, but it went well and everyone was very friendly. Oh and I forgot to mention how incredible it was to hear why go open.
There are good concerts. There are great concerts. And then there are Pearl Jam concerts.
What a GREAT review!!!

Agreed! Very thorough piece. I really liked the following:
"Green Disease
Another jump ahead to 2002’s Riot Act. There’s a false start, then drummer Matt Cameron lays down a rock-solid foundation for this propulsive, punky blast. Ament’s bass is meaty and grindy. Which reminds me: Kudos to whoever is doing sound: Not only can you actually make out Ament’s bass, you can differentiate between the three guitars onstage. Easier said than done."
Evacuation is like the secret hand shake for my breed of PJ fan. Most of you hate it, so when I meat a fan and they're all "yeah, Evacuation kicks ass" I know they have good taste.
It's a process of separating the wheat from the chaff, so to speak.
Hahaha. The "Evacuation" haters are so clueless, they think you're actually kidding. I wonder what goes on in people's minds when they hear that song. It brings their brain to a screeching halt. Meanwhile, cheesy crap like "Come Back" and "Unthought Known" makes them jizz their pants.
there is NO WAY Pearl Jam could have put shows like SPECTRUM 09 in 2000... not a chance... but hey... personal preferance i guess...
I think they easily could have gotten drunk and played a SHITTY three hour show with confetti and balloons in 2000. Fortunately, they played some of the best shows they've ever played instead.

Well, those comments are only slightly insulting.
I've always been one of those Evacuation "haters", but I was recently listening to Binaural and wondered how I could have ever disliked it. Maybe it was just the continuous screaming of "Evacuation" for the last minute of the song, but despite that, it really is a great song and I take back my dislike for it.
