I went to Hartford. Last minute like. Ticket magic got me a great seat. People big that show up setlist-wise, but I didn't think it was all that. I loved going to see Mark Twain's house though. Good show, but not awe-inspiring. I thought the 2 MSG's and Camden 1 were best. Camden 1 was fucking jaw droppingly good. One of the best Pj shows i ever saw, and i've been to over 50...

Hartford is one of my top shows ever been to - I personally liked it more than Boston or NY that year easily.

Hartford was one of those shows where you just didnt know what they'd play next. Nothing was THAT rare, but a lot of it was deeper stuff than they would normally play.

I looooooooooove the Hartford show! :)

A simple haircut and he suddenly seemed old.

He reminded me of my Uncle. Not good.

No, it wasn't good....and I hope he never cuts it like that again....he needs the beard too....mmmmm beard! (I have a beard fetish....Ed's is a lovely specimen)

I appreciate a man who can pull off a beard and EV can certainly do that.

The biggest problem with the band are the elitist fans who feel that the band owes them something. They are like those stuck up assholes in school that never grew out of it.

Hartford was my first "real" pearl jam show.. Loved it. I was too in the moment to care about the setlist. We saw a great show. Right behind Boston '10 for me. Immortality into Porch was brilliance.
I will be what i could be

See that's what I loved about GA in Australia/NZ for 2009....I got the rail 3 times out of 3 because I wanted it....and chose not to for the 4th but could have. I'd already had front row in 2006 too....and now I'm totally spoiled and want it all the time.

Well rehearsed ... thats not what PJ is about... Id take the mistakes on a song they havent played in 10 years over well rehearsed any day... you want well rehearsed go to a U2 msg board my friend
I agree with this 10000%. The fact that they are willing to play so many different songs means they cant get them all perfect, but thats what adds to the character of a PJ show.

This is it, right here! That is why you can see more then 1 show a tour and love every show.

Front row, congrats! That had to be awesome!
I've had a lot of front rows. Adelaide, all 3 Melbournes, and Perth in 2003. A lot of up the front for the General Admission shows in Europe. Ed gave me a tambourine in the front row in Paris in 2006 (still not a great gig-Marseille was good the night before, setlist-wise).

I kinda like the short sharp shiney shows. They tend to blast the shit out tight and fuck off. Just my style.

Me too, what a day, what a set, what a show. That was the first time I heard Immortality since 1998 and I was so pumped

First US show that I travelled to and it was so hot and muggy, band came out on fire

I think your viewpoint of Avocado is evil and wrong, and your review of No Way at the Spectrum '09 is over the top (it wasn't that bad) but other than that, I'm down. We ought to be able to critique a bit.

    As do I.

But hey, "the unexamined life is not worth living" etc. If you can't sit back and identify when you feel something is going off track, I don't see the point of discussing it at all.

Absolutly, plus we got the intro to Immortality and I knew it the moment I heard it, and then Porch. Leash too in the encore with that girl from the wish foundation dancing on stage LOL, Katie

Once you've gone GA, you'll see how much more energy and atmosphere there is in a building. Seats are good for not having to arrive early and all that, but GA gigs have an energy seated gigs severely lack.

I've seen hundreds of gigs since I was 16 in 1991, and know this to be true.

I was pissed at my tickets for EV solo....didn't complain....that's the way it goes....but still not overly happy. I'm such a seat snob.

I'm 5'1....I need to fucking see....and even in row 6 I start to struggle.
