I did 13 Euro 2006 shows, and 8 US 2008 (Virginia Beach, and then the last 7). Milan 2006 was a greatest hits setlist but one of the best PJ shows I ever saw. In fact, that whole Italian run was great. But Camden 1 in 2008 blew me away, too. And I got to hear Wash in Boston in 2008, which was a dream come true as well!
    My Pearl Jam shows: 1 in 1995, 2 in 1998, 20 in 2003, 13 in 2006, 3 in 2007, 8 in 2008, 5 in 2009, 4 in 2010, 5 in 2012. EV: 8 in 2011, 1 in 2012. Brad: 1 in 1998, 1 in 2002.

Yeah, they sucked. They were sloppy as hell.

That's why they officialy released them in a box-set?
They officially released them in a box set because, a, they release all their shows, and b, because of the circumstances around the shows it made sense to box them together.

You can't honestly listen to those shows and tell me they were playing tight, from a standpoint of pure musicianship? They simply got too drunk too early, it happens. I feel like they learned a lot from that experience and that entire run of tours during the 08/09 years though, because from 2010 through today, including Alpine this year, they've sounded incredibly well rehearsed.

The beginning of that 2008 tour, some of those shows sounded like rehearsals to me. Missed notes, lyrics.

they play 120 different songs a tour... they are entitled to a missed note here in there... no?

we got quite the group of perfectionists here tonight hahahah

seriously...i hope they don't read these. if i were in the band and saw the amount of bitching and complaining that some of these people do it would completely turn me off.

There are some songs that sound sloppy, but those 4 shows are just an awesome collection of hits, rare, etc.

But they released them in a box set because its the only time they've done something like that and they covered a lot of ground (even though they left a lot out of night 4 to repeat every major hit, which is fine). :)

Don't agree. They were majorly tight in 2000, but they've had a lot more breadth and depth since then.

I agree with this 10000%. The fact that they are willing to play so many different songs means they cant get them all perfect, but thats what adds to the character of a PJ show.

I used to feel this way until the first time I hear No Way. It's been a top 5 PJ song for me for a long time, and I finally got to hear it at Spectrum 09. And it was so sloppy I could barely enjoy it.

I don't care about lyrical mistakes, I just care when the band can't even play tight together.
