If they do the BDO lets hope they do all of lost dogs + leatherman which should been on it, that will just leave the FAITHFUL to enjoy the show and there is a few songs off LD that I have'nt seen live yet. ;)
Imagine all the NON FAITHFUL going crazy to betterman and last kiss

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

the only way that this is good news is if they announce side shows... which they never fucking would in new zealand.

this will not be good news if it's true. i just can't do it. i can't drag my ass up to auckland for a potential 1.5 hour good time (no guarantees with this festival) when the rest of it is a guaranteed shitfest.

PLEASE pearl jam. don't do it! unless you play here as a side show like soundgarden did in 1997. missed the big day out but didn't give a shit because i got to see soundgarden at the wellington town hall.

qotsa owe us a fucking gig too given they cancelled the welly town hall show in february.

so. come for BDO, but both o'yall better come down to wellington!

    Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out
  • I'll take any pearl jam I can get. If i i make it to four of these shows it will take my total of seeing eddie vedder to 11 times in less than 12 months. The BDO will not be as bad as you guys think it is going to be. None of the younger brigade even know who pearl jam is, thet will all head off to the boiler room or simlilar and leave pearl jam to us, this is exactly whats happened when I saw neil young at the bdo a couple of years ago. and the sweaty 30 year old, it cannot be any worse than 09 when in auckland I got pissed on by some loser.

  • thats funny,
lucky it wasnt you because about 10 minutes later security ask for me to grab him so he could be removed from the venue, i reach for him and only got a handful of hair which i almost ripped out of his head as a threw him from the pit

so is the "no headliners starting with a P" facebook post enough to stop this madness?

Sure does...and rules out many other that were heavily rumoured...Prince, Radiohead, RHCP. BDO has a history of recycling their acts (KOL, Tool, Muse, the Prodigy, Foo Fighters, System of a Down, Chemical Brothers, Basement Jaxx, Kasabian, Rammstein, Deftones, Iggy and the Stooges are just a couple who've played at least twice) so I dare say the headliner has already played BDO before.

    Melbourne: 16/11/24, 18/11/24

yep. from your list.. at BDO i have seen.....

    KOL
    Tool
    Muse
    Foo FIghters (twice)
    SOAD
    Deftones
    Iggy

it's the only place to see most bands in nz. but it stills sucks nads.

their line up.. last year.. or the year before.. was almost a carbon copy of one i went to a few years back.
  • And I quote

I am feeling kind so here is another hint (I told you yesterday no headliner starts with an R): No headliner starts with a P! OK one sleep 'til we meet right here and start the 1st announce party...

    FUCK. YES.
makes much more sense to live in the present tense

I'm still backing the 20 announced bands will be one major act from each year of BDO.

I'm gonna throw it out there that the "no headliner starts with P" doesn't rule out pearl jam from playing the BDO. It just means they or gonna be playing the boiler room between some dub step acts.

Damn, then that rules out Prince!
  • Hmmm maybe soundgarden.... to make some noise before or possibly after their new album drops????

Well, I'm stumped - unless this is all some elaborate joke on behalf of the BDO organisers.

the "no headliner starts with P" doesn't rule out pearl jam from playing the BDO.

I'm thinking the same thing. PJ could still come for BDO.

yeh. pearl jam arent the sort of band that would be considered a headline act. :?
Yeh I've seen Pearl Jam, too. But I can't remember the dates.

Rumours have been coming from Triple M, Live Nation and Music Feeds but the official BDO Facebook page says there are no headliner bands beginning with an R or a P.

The bdo promoter said no headliner starts with p
    That safely rules em out

Unless they're playing 35 min lillypad set in the Arvo :(

Who knows. Maybe they just want a holiday in Australia in January and don't want to play for long. :)

Well I was checking the list of acts that have played past big day outs and to me some of the bands announced were bigger or more popular then the "headliners" the same year.

Like 2000 blink 182 was a headliner over Red Hot Chili Peppers

2001 Mudvayne headliner over placebo, queens of the stone age, even the black eyed peas should headline over Mudvayne.

2005 slipknot headline over The hives and chemical brothers.

And last year M.I.A was a headliner.

Yeah, especially if this means we'll get a genuine PJ tour instead.
