Seeing him in Brisbane on the 15/10. Hopefully Soundgarden will do some side shows in Brisbane or the Gold Coast.

So it's Kasabian, Soundgarden and Kanye West as headliners for BDO with more bands to be announced as apparently last night's lineup was only the first half.

Apart from Soundgarden it all sounds pretty crappy to me.

    LOL at this thread....

SO while the PJ rumour was going around, they didn't hose it down and kept it in the porch... As soon as we know for sure they weren't playing they shift it into 'other music'

Perhaps it was a possibility after all?

Maybe both Soundgarden and PJ were thinking about it and Soundgarden won? ;)

Still it will be nice to know that Matt is in the country next January.

They'll be long sold out by then probably. Usually the way it goes.

I'll probably go, just for Soundgarden. But $160 is still a lot of dough for a one-hour Soundgarden set (or however long they'll get to play), no interest in seeing anyone else currently on the bill. They should've played Soundwave.

    Definately!
Soundwave has the right crowd for Soundgarden, I just find the BDO a very odd choice for them. :?

So, so glad that Pearl Jam aren't a part of that hideous line up...and even more glad I don't have to go to the BDO to see Pearl Jam. Will gladly wait for the announcement on here that Pearl Jam are touring Australia sometime in 2012...

I agree it's a hideous lineup to someone like me who is no longer a teenager or in their 30s and out of touch with those sorts of bands. However I did see the Living End not so long ago and they're really good live, probably one of the few bands worth seeing in that nauseating selection.
  • I want to point something out to a lot of people here.... if you have never listened to any of these bands atleast give them a chance.... its all good and well saying the lineup isnt great.... and I completely understand it doesnt appear to be with Kanye and Kasabian as the other headliners but atleast give these other bands a listen you may like them. Eg I'd heard of Cage the Elephant a few times before from topics in the "Other Music" thread and when i first heard rumours they might be coming i decided to check them out and now I'm quite happy they were on the first announcement. To each their own however, I'd just hope everyone might give these other musicians a chance :). Now I'm just waiting for the eye candy that is Florence Welsh to be announced on second lineup 8-)

Yah, I love how a lot of people are saying cause they have never heard of the bands it's a crap line up. I myself haven't heard of one or two. But even if pearl jam were on the list I still would go to BDO. But for some to say they are happy pearl jam didn't stoop so low as to be part of that line up is laughable. I'm sure if pearl jam were approached to be apart of BDO their first question would not have been "who else is on the line up?" "oh kanye and some bands I've never heard of? No thanks"

For the record, kanye's last album and his new one with jay z are both pretty good albums and are highly played by me. More so then the last few pearl jam albums. Sure the guy is an egotistical douche hole, but I think his albums are pretty great except 808 and heartbreak, it had 2 good songs. I think a lot of his shit it pretty smart and a lot better then the "bitches and hoes" wanna be gansta rappers that are around today.

Kanye's first break though song "through the wire" he recorded like a few weeks after his near fatal car crash and he still had his jaw wired shut, hence "through the wire". But also as a producer he is responsible for a lot of hits over the last decade that people wouldn't even realise.

But anyway. I'm gonna go now as I know saying the word kanye is like dropping the c word round these parts.

But like I've said before, even people like Justin bieber dont bother me cause I just choose not to listen to them. I'm not gonna hate on him or people who like him just cause he ain't my sort of shit.
