Maybe they "changed their minds" after reading all the negativity in this thread :?

That's a nice thought. Means they're still listening to the fans :)

Hope that's the case, and if so, a big thank you to all the positive(?) negativity posted here - would find it very difficult to attend the BDO festival. Not saying that I wouldn't - too hard to resist the opportunity I reckon. Will be anxiously waiting for the announcement.

No privileges and also most people who go to the BDO these days don't go for the music they just go to think their 8-) wearing their tennis gear and fucking coloured zinc  or hand writen Ts saying they been to every BDO and they are only 16  .For real music followers Soundwave shits all over the BDO thats what Kelly Curtis should be looking at if their looking at those type of fests.
Plus PJ will get an hour and a half maybe I think I'd rather see them do they own thing more feedom for the band and the FAITHFUL.

The (in)famously unreliable MMM reporter is the one saying it's NOT going to happen.

You might read that as a hint that it probably will...
  • He keeps changing his mind. The last 3 articles have been that pearl jam are headlining. Now they aren't? I don't think pearl jam are there.

Forget Nui Te Koha - anything that comes from him is irrelevant.

He wasn't where this rumour originated, remember.

Yeah someone called james young reported it to MMM.... Koha just jumped on board with it like he has done with every other rumour. Prince and Blink were rumoured and he jumped on board then went back on Blink, then He said MCR. James Young said PJ and then he jumped on that. Radiohead were then rumoured and after that was shot down by BDO he then went and said they were going to headline.... the guy has no clue

    Exactly.

I know you don't want it to be true guys, but it's looking at least as likely as it is not at this point.
  • The jock on MMM just re-iterated the rumour of PJ & Radiohead headlining BDO - we'll find out later in the week.

I'm saying this rumour is Bullshit!

If it ends up being true, making me wrong, whoever ends up actually getting a ticket to the BDO can collect the hats of a thousand hipsters and I will eat them ALL!!

If Pearl Jam are really about the fans they love, they wouldn't play the BDO...

The people with glow sticks these days end up drinking them before the show is over... much safer than taking drugs made in a toilet cistern :D

In that case if PJ do play BDO we should try to get as many 10C members in there as possible to try to overthrow the hipsters! This could be the only chance we get to make BDO decent!

Sadly I don't think the way pearl Jam tour here is about the fans much any more. It is more about the quickest, easiest, most cost effective way to tour. Like they did in 09. So if that is what they are about the BDO will happen.

Don't get me wrong I understand their reason. They are all older, have families, funding alot of it off theirown back now without a major record label so I fully get why they wouldn't want to fund spending a month here to do 12 or so shows when they can play to the same number of people over 5 shows like 09.
    condescending and sarcastic since 1980

Yep. Don't count out an arena tour here again though. I think their decisions about where to play/how many shows are based on what they can be fucked doing at the time really. In 09 they weren't going to even come here, but Mike and Ed were going to be down at the same time and they went, OK let's play 5 massive shows in a short time and make a holiday of it (this is what I heard, anyway).

Well I'm kind of hoping PJ do play BDO now so that I can go and see if it's really as bad as people say it is. I'll make sure I wear my dirtiest, smelliest hat too. ;)

Hmmm. Well I remember reading in 09 that Mike and his family were already here two weeks before the tour started and that Mike was surfing at Coolangatta.

  • Ok

So here's how I see it
NO ONE wants this to be true
No one. If it is true I'm gonna sulk. Vital5 is eating hats.
Ek is running naked around the block (potentially wearing a hat to make it super tasty for the aforementioned hat eater)
Were gonna make a mega 10c group and take out the hipster fucks
I'm probs gonna clobber any jerk that stand near me drunkenly swaying constantly yelling betterman

But one way or another. if. IF they are on it were all gonna go and were all gonna have an amazing time

And were all gonna take a sign that says smile cause I really wanna hear it :$
