Wow. I think a lot of people are just repeating what various sources and news outlets are saying. Cant really blame them for this, get off your high horse.{if (work != 0) {
work = work + 1;
sleep = sleep - work * 10;}
else if (work >= 0) {

work = work +1;
}system("pause");
return 0;}0 -

ok so they can maintain that they are innocent but plead that the evidence could convict them. Even know the evidence CANT because its ALL WRONG this is still a good thing here. They will be freeMSG II 5/21/10

this whole thing has been dragged on basically to save the arkansas judicial system ... and to protect the west memphis police department from the shame of their actions ...0

This is really crazy to hear all of this. Hopefully we'll hear something official soon so all this confusion is cleared up...it all sounds so strange.

If they are innocent, as it seems, I am glad they are free. My concern is that their guilty plea means no one will look for the real killers. That is NOT justice. It is not the fault of the WM3, but the system....they have turned it into a farce...and the WM3 have not had the chance to prove their innocence either, so they will always have doubt and mistrust..what a way to live!!! What happened to a fair trial??????0

The issue of the real killers has been brought up many times. I don't know if there are any legal experts here that can answer this for us.
Is it up to them to prove their innocence in order for the pursuit of the actual guilty parties to recommence?
Or, will the case be reopened regardless of the pleas entered today?0 -

I think this might be right. They strike up a plea deal to get them out of jail, while at the same time, it's really about the guys not ever being able to sue the state... I think getting them to admit wrongdoing takes focus off what it's really about. And they're not going to release that to the media.
Obviously the defendants' attorneys agreed to their clients admitting guilt... because that's probably not what's it really all about now. It seems like it's just for show, in exchange for something else.0 -

A strange way to end a strange case.....
I saw on the news last night that the guilty plea was forced in order to be free AND to never sue the state. So that's all it's about, really. The state really failed and it's their way of making it seem they weren't in the wrong...
And watching that video above from 3:00 on, it's obvious there's something stinky going on with prosecutors and refusal to re-open the case with new evidence.0 -

so let me understand this..guys went free..cool..atleast they will not spent more time in jail for something didnt do...but they say guilty.understand..that was the deal....that doeant mean automatically that the state will not search for the real killers????right???cos we have someone said is guilty..we put them in 18 years..now there are free to go..
but who killed the boys?who will search for that?..what a pitty..."...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".

But, as you know, they didn't really admit any guilt. They basically said, "We're innocent, but we acknowledge that the state may never believe (officially) believe us." It wasn't a regular, straight-up guilty plea.0 -

Every single article I have read. Every single news story I have watched in the last 24 hours, says the same thing......
Baldwin and Echols each pleaded guilty to three counts of first-degree murder. Misskelley pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree murder and two counts of second-degree murder. The Alford plea allows the men to maintain their claims of innocence.Take me piece by piece.....

It's really only legal speak though. If they truly are now admitting the crime, with no deal behind it, do you really think they'd be let free right now? It's confusing to the public, because that's all we're seeing. But there's more going on that's not public. And that's all about the new evidence, preventing the 3 from suing the state, and the state's public reputation...0 -

"_" is right. Don't take what you see on the media word for word. Cause the legal system is much more complicated...
And besides, don't believe everything you see and hear anyway.0 -
