I don't think there's a bigger government tit-sucker than the military industrial complex.

And Parachute, aren't Republicans all about personal responsibility? If so, why is it illegal for me to smoke a joint? It's my choice isn't it, I'm not hurting anybody else.

No, conservatives are all about individaul reponsibility. Republicans are all about Republicans.
You've jumped to conclusions before about my party affiliations, Bush being "my guy" and what not. step back and breathe.

If you worked and earned the money to buy that J, then be my guest. If you be cashin checks, dawg, and using my benjamins to get lifted yo, then protest, I must.

PS: It's illegal, I guess, b/c the people of state you live in want it that way. But if it was up to the FED, you would NEVER be able to light up. Keep that in mind as you rail against state's rights and glorify all things centralized.

Perry in his formal announcement on Saturday:
-"The United States of America really is the last great hope of mankind."

This may be the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Why do these guys think people born in this country are so much better than those around the world? It's an ignorant and arrogant way of thinking that makes us look terrible.

Also, didn't he hold the day of prayer because God was the last hope for mankind? And how is the praying for rain thing working out for him?

Either you are very short, or Perry is very tall, but this went right over your head.

Conservatives, do not waste your time trying to convert liberals. Liberalism is some people's religion. Having a mind of your own is a prerequisite to understanding where your freedoms have gone to.
Which is why so many people don't know they are slaves.

I'm a liberal? Thanks for letting me know. My problem with Perry isn't that he's a conservative it's that he's not very bright. Most of us in his state have learned that, which is why he can't get 40% of the vote.

Well, if being :bright" is all it takes, then maybe you should run.

The red states (that PJ won't play) will help Perry get over the hump.

Funny that your state is fairing better than any other in this Obama Depression, yet all you do is complain...

Why not move to NY, or Cali? Maybe their Governors would be more to your liking?

I'm not wealthy and can't be bought by corporations or lobbyists so I can't run.

My life is very good. I make good money at a pretty easy job. Unlike you I don't only give a shit about myself. I care about other people in this country that don't have jobs or options. You need to realize that job growth in TX has almost nothing to do with Rick Perry. He literally has less power than the Lt. Gov.

Why don't I move? Pretty childish argument.

Are you saying W had nothing to do with our current economic state? If so I can just ignore you from now on because you're obviously delusional.

haha, the old, if you criticize something, maybe you can do it better! too funny!
and the age old, if you dont like it, you should move! man, you're on a roll!

Personally, I'm glad to hear from someone who LIVES in Texas. He might know a bit more about Perry then your average bandwagon jumper.

Same thing. I really can't believe you even tried that argument... You usually debate better than that.

Splittin hairs like Bill Clinton. "Depends what the definition of 'is', is."

I'm talkin about EXECUTIVE experience/qualification. There is no comparison.

you had it right in your last post though:
"ignorance and inability for people to think critically is destroying the left and it is pretty much dead ..."

On that, you've never been more right. Haha. get it? "been more right?"
    haha,...
It's gonna be a great year.
    woot.

soo ... if someone like say henry waxman ran ... he would be more qualified than perry?

 I gotta say, that was a good one... I can only say that while traditionally, Governors have had a better record getting elected President than Senators and Congressmen, Waxman- jesus- even Waxman, is technically more experienced and qualified than Obama.

At least he's governed a committee. well played.

    i fix for you

Fine. Don't move. Just sit there and bitch. Oh, and "care about people." Wonder how you do that? Do you take what's left in your paycheck and give it away? What about all the money you spend on pot? Couldn't you do with less? Do you watch football, or buy clothes for yourself? Or do you just walk around naked so some illigel alien single-mom can buy her 2 yr old Air Jordans? What a triumph you are.

No, I'm calling bullshit. I bet you care about yourself a great deal. You just like to sound noble on here and probably day dream about Ed or Jeff reading your posts and saying, "Ya, man. That ComeToTX dude is alright."

If "giving a shit about myself" is wrong, then I don't want to be right.

    haha

    I guess we disagree...

Nope. Bush, w/ the help of a Dem Congress for 2 years, spent money like crazy. And it made me mad as hell.

But Obama is WORSE. Much WORSE.

Good luck w that "Bush sucked" line. No rational person is listening to that jive no mo'.

    This is the Obama Depression.

I'm bitching? I'm trying to tell you why I don't like a candidate. And all of a sudden I smoke a lot of weed? I haven't smoked weed since my first kid was born and have probably gotten high 5 times in the last 8 years. I do care about myself but I don't disregard the needs of the rest of the country. I'm not on welfare but that doesn't mean we should do away with it for everyone either.

I do give my money to causes I support. I've supported WM3 since I was 15 and also do everything I can to support the Pat Tillman Foundation.

I'm not saying Bush sucks. I'm just saying it's not all Obama. I voted for Bush in 2000 (mostly because I partied with his daughters in HS). Once we started invading countries for no reason I changed my opinion.

Those clips are from Goldwater's presidential campaign and Reagan and Goldwater were opposing the Civil Rights Act on the basis that the government (the "little intellectual elite in a far off land", recognize that one, too?) didn't have the right to interfere in those matters and also that businesses should be allowed to choose whom they will and will not do business with.

Why does liking Perry mean abolishing "welfare for everyone"?

Some people here have said that b/c Perry doesn't want some Junior college graduate teacher to instruct Texas's 6 year olds how to put a rubber on a banana- then Perry hates children and wants them to get pregnant.

Ask a Democrat about abortion and you get a 30 minute answer about some 13 yr old African immigrant that was raped and impregnated by her father. (John Kerry in Bush debate)

Why is it always the extreme examples? Just talk real life man. And leave your nobility out of it. It stinks.
