I'm a liberal? Thanks for letting me know. My problem with Perry isn't that he's a conservative it's that he's not very bright. Most of us in his state have learned that, which is why he can't get 40% of the vote.

Well, if being :bright" is all it takes, then maybe you should run.

The red states (that PJ won't play) will help Perry get over the hump.

Funny that your state is fairing better than any other in this Obama Depression, yet all you do is complain...

Why not move to NY, or Cali? Maybe their Governors would be more to your liking?

Are you saying W had nothing to do with our current economic state? If so I can just ignore you from now on because you're obviously delusional.

Nope. Bush, w/ the help of a Dem Congress for 2 years, spent money like crazy. And it made me mad as hell.

But Obama is WORSE. Much WORSE.

Good luck w that "Bush sucked" line. No rational person is listening to that jive no mo'.

    This is the Obama Depression.

That line was pretty f-ing funny. What is this a reality show? The "last great hope of mankind"? thats priceless.

That's Reagan. I recognize it from this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HDRA3XFfDr4

I'm bitching? I'm trying to tell you why I don't like a candidate. And all of a sudden I smoke a lot of weed? I haven't smoked weed since my first kid was born and have probably gotten high 5 times in the last 8 years. I do care about myself but I don't disregard the needs of the rest of the country. I'm not on welfare but that doesn't mean we should do away with it for everyone either.

I do give my money to causes I support. I've supported WM3 since I was 15 and also do everything I can to support the Pat Tillman Foundation.

I'm not saying Bush sucks. I'm just saying it's not all Obama. I voted for Bush in 2000 (mostly because I partied with his daughters in HS). Once we started invading countries for no reason I changed my opinion.

Those clips are from Goldwater's presidential campaign and Reagan and Goldwater were opposing the Civil Rights Act on the basis that the government (the "little intellectual elite in a far off land", recognize that one, too?) didn't have the right to interfere in those matters and also that businesses should be allowed to choose whom they will and will not do business with.

Why does liking Perry mean abolishing "welfare for everyone"?

Some people here have said that b/c Perry doesn't want some Junior college graduate teacher to instruct Texas's 6 year olds how to put a rubber on a banana- then Perry hates children and wants them to get pregnant.

Ask a Democrat about abortion and you get a 30 minute answer about some 13 yr old African immigrant that was raped and impregnated by her father. (John Kerry in Bush debate)

Why is it always the extreme examples? Just talk real life man. And leave your nobility out of it. It stinks.

My nobility? You asked me if I gave all my money away and I answered you.

Where did anybody want to instruct 6 year olds how to put a condom on?

Can this be backed up with facts?

So how come Texas' teen pregnancy rate is up 50% and the rate of second teen pregnancies is soaring too? This isn't about teaching 6 year olds about condoms, this is about teaching teenagers birth control and not just shaking your finger at the class and saying "just say no." (because that clearly doesn't work and you now have a LOT of unwanted kids and parents who don't have the resources to care for them... which drives up the tax costs.)

Funny but I've heard plenty of real-life stories about real-life abortions.

For the record, I'm anti-abortion. I think it's wrong. I don't think you'll find anyone who's "pro-abortion" anywhere. However, it's not my body. And just like I won't let anyone shake their fingers at me, I feel it's my duty to allow others to make that choice for themselves.

Don't you wish it was that easy? don't you wish that life were so simple that there were no extreme examples?

Tell me if you ever find that Utopia. I'd love to live there.

You posted about Perry's stance on sex ed. I'm referring another member to you for the facts, b/c you seemed to be an expert.

It was meant to foster debate and ideas, of which you had many on this subject. I couldn't find the thread.

No... that's not it at all. you made up a complete lie about Texas teaching 6 year olds how to put on condoms and suggested that I knew about that. Don't play like that's not where you were going with that. I'm a gay man and I've been directly and indirectly accused or a lot of stuff. I know when it's happening.

No. It was meant to suggest something very inappropriate. And it wasn't funny.

if you can't back up your own big bag of bullshit, may I suggest you shut it?

if i were a reporter the first question i would ask rick perry is this...

"you have spoken in favor of secession in the past. if you win the presidency, how would you view it if a state decided to leave the union and what would you do about it?"

that would put him in a tight spot. he would have to claim state's right to secede is indeed a state's right, or he would have to fight to keep them in the union. i would like to hear his reply on that.

Oh, but Texas is different, he will say.
When we joined the union we retained the right to go back to being a sovereign nation if we wanted to.

That isn't true but it's the argument he's presented before.
He needs to go back to his 7th grade Texas History class.
