Agreed. Not to mention I absolutely hate when people say this is something that happens all the time at Phillies/Eagles games, etc. Guess what, it happens everywhere. We just have a reputation, so anything that happens now is pointed out in the media, on boards like this, etc. I've seen drunk people at every concert and sporting event I've ever been to.
The show was amazing, as was the crowd. As pointed out earlier, it was obvious Ed was hyped up for this show. We all know PJ has loved playing Philly throughout the years.
Yes I suppose they could have been from anywhere and the same could be said about fans at Phillies and Eagles games and maybe it does happen everywhere, but it still doesn't make it right. For instance the guy this year at the Dodgers game that was killed for being a Giants fan. But Phillies fans kill each other and purposefully barf on children which is really really dumb and if you're from Philly you know what I'm talking about. You have to admit people can't really bring younger children to a Phillies game anymore on a Saturday night. And maybe this goes on at other ballparks but it's still trashy behavior and should be called out!
Anyone know if they're putting out a video of this? I noticed a camera and they were super strict with taking pictures and videos.
I really hope Ed has been recording AND filming and will come onto the board and see how badly we want boots, DVDs, whatever he is willing to share. I was not at this show, but personally would love to hear Falling Slowly; it was amazing at the Beacon so I'm curious to see if it's even better the 2nd time around.
Hey, thats me on the right, that's my ear and that's Eddie! ha ha Great night. Met a lot of great people, amazing show. My dad is watching in Detroit as we speak. I know he is loving it. I left at 1 am last night, what time did Eddie come out and what happened?
Ed before the show
I think I recognize your ear I was standing right behind you and when you left, I got to move up to the front. Sorry you left, but it worked out for me since I'm a shorty and I could actually see! Ed came out around 1:30. Security announced he wouldn't give autographs or pose for pix, but he did go around to everyone and shook hands, said "hi," and made a point of looking everyone in the eye. Very very cool experience. Actually got to tell him what his music meant to me.
The show was amazing. Had a good crowd around me in Orchestra Right - no one was disrespectful...everyone seemed to be really into it. I'm dying for another show!
"I need your strength for me to be strong...I need your love to feel loved"
Anyone have any pics or vid of Ed outside meeting the crowd after the show? I was there living in the moment w/o a camera or phone for either unfortunately...
I do!!! Not that good. My camera died as he got to me. But don't know how to post them on here! Tell me how or send your email address. Sorry I suck!

Great pics comebackgirl!
Would you be able to send larger versions of them to me via email? I'm in the second pic
Thanks in advance!
Incidentally, I also noticed the exact same thing you mentioned here... about how he made sure to shake everyones hand and made it a point to look everyone in the eye when he spoke to them... really struck me... a much more personal experience, something I'll remember forever.

That is me in the maroon Phils hat in the middle pic after the show. You almost got a pic of me shaking his hand!! LOL. Awesome.
Oh I'm a lucky man, to count on both hands the ones I love
Dream the dreams of other men, you'll be no ones rival

Absolutely! I got a bunch of pics when he was over that way, so I may have a better one of you. If anyone thinks they may be in my pics, send me a PM with your email and I will send you a copy.

If anyone managed to catch a pic of me could you return the favor and send it as well? I'm the short girl, tan, long wavy dark hair wearing a purplish/blueish dress. I was right at the gate in the center facing the doors that Ed exited. Thanks in advance!

Today on 93.3 wmmr Piere Robert is doing concert coverage of Eddie's show from Saturday night. www.wmmr.com might be a place to be later this afternoon.
great show, everybody around us were quiet and respectful. eddies voice was amazing, drive all night, speed of sound and parting ways were outstanding. there is nothing about grabbing a beer or take a pee during the show, but if you have to, wait for between the songs.
thx to travelar for the spare!
During "Drive All Night" when they were singing the "...you got my love" part and Jake had his eyes closed singing with the sax raised above his head and the crowd was clapping along was just awesome. One of the best/surreal performances I've ever seen.

Without a doubt one of those moments you can't believe you were there for!!!
Great day, great night. Seems I had to leave about 5 minutes before Ed came out after the show. Girl with me had uncomfortable shoes and couldn't wait any longer. Hopefully some audio will turn up at some point. Great show.
"All I Ever Knew" available now in print and digital formats at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and iBooks.

I definitely agree..It was amazing to be there for that moment.

Met some people from Germany who flew over here just for the concert and were going back right after the show - that's so awesome to me:D
Was one of them super tall? He took my spare ticket. He and his friend were great company throughout the afternoon/evening. I hope to be able to travel to a show like that sometime.
I thought the tributes to Clarence Clemons in Hartford, on Dave Letterman, and especially in Philly were all so touching. To cover Springsteen at the Tower Theatre with Clemons' nephew was so thoughtful and poignant. Really unforgettable.
I saw somone mentioned they were keeping cool with their Play Bill.
My wife and I got there about 15 minutes before Eddie took the stage. I was not given, nor did I see any PLay Bills.
Any chance someone has an extra that they'd be willing to part with? I saved them from the other 3 Eddie shows I've seen, and would really appreciate having one from last Saturday night as well...

Dude stop. No one got killed in LA. No one ever got killed at a phillies game. The NY sucks guy was 2 seats away from me and he was responding to the "let's go Yankees" chant. Was it awful? Yes. But it wasn't out of the blue during a decent strawberry fields story.
We all know Philly get a bad fan rap but if u let a dozen shout outs/cell phone lights ruin your night, it's your own fault. Turn them out and enjoy.
Still cant believe I was about 10ft from Ed at this show. Unforgettable night. Thanks again to Jesse C, Ed's head of security.
Margeta Irglova waived and smiled to my girlfriend offstage as she was about to come out for the first time. She is a big Hansard/Irglova fan. It made her night. Just an all around perfect night. Ed was on, Glenn was on, Margreta was on.
And so you see, I have come to doubt All that I once held as true I stand alone without beliefs The only truth I know is you.

You're right the guy in LA was only beaten into a coma -
But it's probably more of an alcohol thing in both cases and the fist fight at The Tower as well. The yelling and cell phones are whatever. It's just dumb to hit people for whatever reason which I'm certain you would agree. And there just seems to be more of a culture of it in Philly, there's just that trashy mentality, that it's Saturday night, so let's get drunk and fight, that's stupid wherever you are.

I can't listen to this song without getting depressed knowing that chances are pretty small that I'll be front row at Ed's feet for a duet with Glen.
This song is fucking gorgeous and their duet was even better!
Did anyone get any really good up close pics from the show? I got a couple during Hard Sun, that was the only time I was brave enough to take a pic. Wouldn't mind getting one or two of Eddie framed with my ticket. Also, what are the playbills people were talking about?
