    ・・・
𝗚𝗿𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗚𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗱 | Andy Kemmis’ new book dives into the Montana Skatepark Association and JA’s role in the local skate community.
Big Sky vibes + raw concrete dreams! Just devoured this sick deep‑dive into how a ragtag crew out in the sticks turned nowhere Montana into real skate history. From dusty banks to legit parks, these cats didn’t wait for permission — they built community, battled bureaucracy, and made space for every rippah out there.
This isn’t just about ollies and kickflips — it’s about keeping it real AF: grit, grind, friendship, and heart.
Story is full‑on stoke: old school skate roots, backyard sessions turning into world‑class spots, and a whole culture rising up where most people wouldn’t even blink. If you’re about DIY energy, collective power, and scenes that give a damn about the kids who need a spot to belong — this hits hard.
And ya… that foreword? Written by someone who walked the talk in that very scene — bassist for one of the most iconic bands ever, and a lifelong skater who’s been supporting those parks and youth crews back home in MT for decades.

Not all skateparks are built the same.
That’s why Big Spring Skatepark partnered with Evergreen Skateparks — known for skater-driven, site-specific concrete parks built to last.
With support from the Montana Skatepark Association and the community behind Jeff Ament’s Jeff Ament’s Army, Lewistown’s park was designed to be something real — not just a slab of concrete.
Now Big Spring Skatepark is moving into Phase 2 planning.
If you want to help push the next chapter forward, our $30 Triple Impact Donation supports:

    Centerfest Music Festival
Three grassroots projects. One Montana community.

I've been looking for the hat but it's impossible to find in the wild. Just auctioned off on FB for hundreds of $$$$. Sigh.

Yeah shocked that purple one sold for $500 over on Facebook.  :o

If only Jeff knew these are flipping so much. Too bad he couldn't sell these online @ the 10club store.

I think that’s why he doesn’t have them on MPS site. He knows the merch goes crazy. He wants people who care and show up to their events. I don’t blame the guy
but if he sold the hats/merch to supply the demand (no flippers), it would spread the word more. "nice hat, what's MPS?, oh, it's this really cool charitable org that builds skate parks...cool!".
Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer

Fair, I think MPS is doing well regardless. In 2026, they will reach their goal of having a skatepark in every corner of Montana. Who knows what their next goal is.

I made my own hat by taking a patch off a beanie.

‘MPS’ wheel by Speedlab Wheels. This colab wheel with Jeff Ament’s Montana Pool Service (MPS) is the result of skateboarders giving back to skateboarding. MPS helps build skateparks in small towns and on Native reservations throughout Montana to provide communities with the gift of skateboarding. At each skatepark grand opening, MPS gives away complete skateboards to the underprivileged local youth. We will be donating 10% of all proceeds from the sale of this wheel to aid MPS efforts. These colorful pink/yellow swirled wheels have rounded conical cuts on each side to provide a highly functional profile & shape made from the best formulas in the world for ultimate speed & control. Grab a set today and help a great cause. Artwork by Bobby Brown.
