These are last weeks arrivals and how epic are these!?

All boards will be on display on the 31st but each board will auction at different times over the next several weeks. We want the global audience to all have fair access to these amazing boards and help support an even more amazing Foundation.

Our goal is to help raise awareness and funding for MPS (Montana Pool Service) and the many good things they are doing.

Founded by Montanan Jeff Ament in 2005, MPS has organized and contributed to over 40 world class skateparks in rural and Native communities in Montana and the Dakotas to date, with five new ones being built this summer.

Jeff Ament of Pearl Jam Is In The Middle Of Nowhere

The Middle of Nowhere, an art exhibit spearheaded by  Jeff Ament of Pearl Jam, comes to the Adler/Smith Gallery on Mini Kinney in Santa Monica on Saturday, May 31.The unique exhibit has been a year and a half in the making. One hundred skateboard decks were sent to renowned artists around the world as far as Japan, Peru, Thailand, England, Sweden, Switzerland, and more.  Some found their way into the hands of artists and skate culture legends like Craig Stecyk, Yusuke Hanai, Wes Humpston, Stacy Peralta, Thomas Campbell, and Ament himself, creating original, one-of-a-kind pieces. All 100 boards will be on display on Saturday, May 31, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.,) with Ament in attendance, and available to bid via an online auction that will be released soon.Proceeds from the auction will benefit Montana Pool Service,  a nonprofit Ament founded in 2005. MPS has helped fund and build over 40 world-class skateparks in rural and Native communities across Montana and the Dakotas, with five more breaking ground this summer.“Skateboards and art are like peanut butter and chocolate, or corn nuts and PBR,” Ament tells LA Weekly.  “So stoked to have many of the great pioneers, artists, and riders of skateboard art on the marquee for this incredible night supporting more concrete for the most isolated riders in the MIDDLE OF NOWHERE. Montana Pool Service has five new skateparks going in Montana this year, with a bunch more penciled in for the future.”

Welcome to Summer! We couldn’t be more excited for the next show and the summer rollout.

Please join us this Saturday May 31st from 5-10pm for what is sure to be one of the craziest openings at ADLER\SMITH to date!

    “Middle of Nowhere”

“Middle of Nowhere” is a skateboard art benefit show for Montana Pool Service.

Founded by Montanan Jeff Ament of Pearl Jam in 2005, MPS has organized and contributed to over 40 world class skateparks in rural and Native communities in Montana and the Dakotas to date, with five new ones being built this summer.

We sent 100 skateboard decks to artists and friends around the world as far as Japan, Peru, Thailand, England, Sweden, Switzerland, the Netherlands and all over the US, to create all original, one-of-a-kind skateboard works of art. The response has been overwhelming and I hope you find as much joy in seeing these boards as we do!

The boards will be put into an online auction to have a global audience and raise the most awareness and funding we can to hopefully build another skatepark in a much needed area.

A massive thank you to the many artists that sent back boards. It’s beautiful seeing these communities blur the lines of surf, skate, music and art of various forms all coming together for such an amazing project and great cause. And a big thank you to Paul Schmitt (Schmitt Stix Skateboards) for giving the artists the ultimate palette to create.

    ....................

We also wanted to make sure you have plenty of opportunities this summer to come see the amazing shows we have lined up.

The gallery is always open 7 days a week, but we know life is busy, many of you keep the same work hours as we do and not everyone is able to attend openings - so we’re going to show a series of Saturday night films on the art and part of it’s influential history of skateboarding during this summer’s run.

Put one (or all) of these dates on the calendar and come celebrate with us.

    We hope to see you!
