Several times, it seemed that he was trying to figure out how to answer a question and instead of just letting him say it, she kept interrupting. It seemed like she had her agenda of what he was going to answer and didn't let him wander off that track too much, which is exactly what we wanted to hear. My opinion - I would have loved to see Howard Stern do the interview, seriously - I think he is a great interviewer and would have been able to get more out of him.
I would pay money to see Howard Stern interview him.
You have a problem with megalomaniacal people interviewing, and you'd rather had Stern do it???Bright eyed kid: "Wow Typo Man, you're the best!"
Typo Man: "Thanks kidz, but remembir, stay in skool!"0 -

Howard Stern isn't a megalomaniac. Arrogant and self-involved, sure, but definitely not a megalomaniac. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0 -

Oprah sucks, she might as well have left a return ticket to Australia under his chair like she does with her audience.Adelaide 17/11/2009, Melbourne 20/11/2009, Sydney 22/11/2009, Melbourne (Big Day Out Festival) 24/01/20140 -
wow ... that was worse than the first night ... oprah was absurdly awful ... totally not prepared ... how do you not know that he's gotten a lifetime ban and that events like the boston marathon is sanctioned by usada ... she got played ... awful ...
as predicted, the douchebag brought up his kids and his mom ... still can't tell the truth ... so, much of what he said were blatant lies but oprah had no clue ... awful ...
well ... only comfort is that the majority of the public saw that he hasn't really changed ...0 -
laughable that he feels he deserves another shot at the sportFor the ones who had a notion, a notion deep inside

He'll tell truth over time, it'll just have to trickle out slowly. I figured this admission was about 3 years out, so he's ahead of my schedule. It's all typical narcissistic personality disorder stuff. I'm still curious why he decided to come out now, because I'm not sure what the payoff for him is.0

I would say that he is also a psychopath. He sees nothing wrong with what he does as long as it leads to his own successes. The part of the story about him bullying other people to not tell the truth is telling to who he really is.Go Get 'Em Tigers!0 -
ultimately I think America needs to have a real and intense discussion about cheating in sports. Going after individual athletes whether in cycling or baseball or track is fine if they cheat. But i think we as a society need to discuss this issue in a manner that has not happened yet. We all know what happened in baseball, yet people like A-Rod and Giambi continue to play and have their stats intact. For example, everyone is involved in perpetuating this myth about ARod and his homers. When he hits his next homer, his 648th, the issue of his cheating and doping wont come up. That number is accepted despite what we know.
MLB and Cycling need a fundamental change, of higher ups, of staff of everything. Selig and the UCI didnt give a damn about dopers and having a clean sport when the whole world was cheering on Mcgwire and Sosa in 98, and cheering on Lance and his team for those 7 years. Lance and Mcgwire and Sosa and Bonds werent the only atheletes who made a living off a lie. Their respective sports did as well.
How many people cared about cycling prior to lance? The higher ups in cycling didnt say a word, because he single handedly made the Tour and cycling something interesting even to people who dont give a damn about sports in general.
Im not sure what needs to be done in terms of this, but certainly more than has been done. So far, in both MLB and cycling its only been the athletes who have been targeted. I'd like to see a larger discussion in society on this involving others.
Ultimately, lots of people knew 80 percent of the peloton and Lance and many MLB players were using. But because both sports were thriving, especially baseball in 98 after having some awful PR for several years post strike, the worlds attention was now on these 2 sports. No one was willing to call anyone out, because they all were making tons of cash on it0 -
plus it is a naive view of the issue. Had lance never won those 7 tours, its not like the cycling world would have been clean. Same with Sosa, had Sosa not hit all those home runs and capitivated the nation in 98, its not like the MLB would have been a clean sport.
lance was merely one of 80 percent of the peloton during those years that doped. As has been proven all top 5 riders all 7 years he won also doped. This was a doped sport. It was way beyond one rider and one team. Everyone was doing it.
Lance lied to the world during those 7 Tours. But so did Basso, Ulrich, Hamilton, landis, rasmussen, contador, vinokourov,
Every one of those guys got on that winners stage thing and drank in the attention and glory and the yellow jerseys despite knowing full well they were lying to the world.
Or take Bonds. They guy has the temerity to interact with people like Aaron or Mays, people who were clean and act like he deserved a place with them. And that he was indeed hitting all those homers legitamately. Really?
If the MLB and the cycling world and the public are really serious about dealing with doping in sports, the issue needs to be looked at beyond 1 rider and one ballplayer.0 -

i find this disturbing and gross. you are entitled to your opinion of the guy, but if someone has AIDS and it comes out they are a liar and cheat, i wouldnt substitute AIDS for cancer in your pic.
I dont think wishing cancer on people or wishing people die of cancer is funny or adds anything at all to the conversation and discussion. Its childish and peurile. I can understand maybe someone saying they wish he hadnt of gotten into the cycling world or raced. But to wish that cancer killed him is indeed offensive.
As Lance said, cancer effects everyone. Everyone knows someone who has it. Ive never found jokes about cancer or aids to be funny. maybe thats just me though.
My own sister nearly died of melanoma and my dad recently had surgery on his face to remove malignant melanoma, and my grandfather died of colon cancer and my grandmother died of lung cancer and didn't smoke, and my great grandmother died of breast cancer and my other grandmother had cancer of the thyroid. My aunt also had breast cancer. I am almost certainly going to eventually die of cancer myself with that fucking family history. However, I also think that ALL things are open to humour, because without that, what's the fun of this life that you're so serious about that you won't even take the time to understand what the joke actually means.Post edited by PJ_Soul onWith all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world.
