If you would like advice about any hotels dowtown (price/value/reputation/location etc) post here and I will let you know. I am not going to steer you towards my hotel - that's not cool (plus we will be full anyway).

    Cheers

    Jon

    Hey Jon -
Thanks for the advice. I reserved a room at THE FAIRMONT ROYAL YORK (185.74 USD/night) about a month ago. What do you think about this property? I was curious if there are nice areas to stay outside the city that have easy access to downtown via subway. Any thoughts or ideas you might have would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

right across from union station so the subway is there. you can walk to the venue either inside or outside and it is about 5 mintues. lots of restaurants, bars and tourist attractions nearby. nice hotel. if it is refundable you can always look around still while keeping the reservation

    Hey,
I booked the Novotel, got a family room (1 double and 1 single bed) for cd$150 a night, more than I was planning to spend but I am now sharing a room with my ticket buddy so only half the rate each.
I arranged it by email, so didn't pay in advance and then went to a conference in a Novotel in London and they guaranteed the booking with my credit card by phoning Toronto - saved me an international call! :D

I want to book @ Novotel but not @ $150 a night. I'm traveling alone. Just need one room. Need to find something close but lower then $150. D'oh!

Yeah, I was the same until Sarah said about sharing a room with her for the gigs in Toronto and Ottawa. I am in a private room in a hostel in Montreal, and the Sheraton in Hamilton for ease sake.

I'm staying @ the Sheraton in Hamilton too. It's just right next door. Sweet! :)

I'm staying at the Novotel in Toronto also. I booked through Priceline as soon as the shows were announced. :)

The Royal York is where members of the British monarchy (i.e the Queen herself) stay when they come to Toronto. Can't get much better than that....

Cool! Hopefully there will be a few of us staying there, it kind of makes sense :D
It's a last minute addition to me, I fly home on the 16th, but 7 shows in a few weeks kinda had a nice ring to it!
    Hope you get Toronto sorted!

Yep! I'll hooked up for Toronto, Ottawa & Hamilton. Haven't yet booked for Montreal. Need to find some promotion codes for Novotel there.

I take it you have an A Card for Novotels? I have managed to get discounts by using my loyalty card :D or at least match some special offer rates.

Hey there! Anyone staying at the Le Meridien "King Eddie"? I got a very good rate through a friend; I'd rather be at the Westin but it ends up being almost double and I think I can handle the half mile walk. King Eddie is a little stuffier though so worried I may be the only one there :?

MrMerkinball, would love your thoughts as you are the expert!

Really excited for the shows (don't actually have tix for the first night yet, but that will work out I am sure) and to meet more of you ... really the best fans I've ever encountered!

    Hello -

I'm also heading in for Toronto on 9/11, staying the weekend, and am looking for some advice. I am a Starwood Platinum, and will be using points for a free stay. Any thoughts/or advice where to book? Looks like my choices are:

    Sheraton Centre Toronto
    Le Meridian King Eduard
    Westin Harbour Castle

Any help is appreciated. Also, we're planning on doing it up on that Sunday, possibly Jays/O's, followed by watching some NFL football (opening weekend), followed by my version of PJ20...

    Looking forward to meeting up!

Don't have an A Card. Didn't even know about that.

Found something cheaper for the 2 night's that i'll be staying in the city.

I was able to book the Holiday Inn Downtown Centre this week through Priceline. I tried several bids, and it finally accepted $140US + tax per night, which came to a total of $328US for two nights (Sept 11 & 12). I've stayed there several times before, when it was a Days Inn, and had no complaints. Rooms are a bit on the small side, but fine.

For those of you staying at the Delta Chelsea, be sure to set at least a few minutes aside for a couple trips down the waterslide! Very fun. Had a great time when we stayed there in 2009.

Just booked at the Radisson East through travelzoo for only $79 Canadian per night. It's 12 miles from the Air Canada Centre

no need to have a car in the city ... everything is pretty much downtown ... you can walk, transit or bixi
