Can you check?
I'm not too worried about the bus company, I would be more worried about people wanting to leave at a certain time. I am not sure everyone wants to leave the hotel at 11:00 am or noon and only 10-20 people getting on the bus and me losing a few hundred bucks.11/17/93, 9/17/95, 10/2/96, 6/27/1998, 10/21/2000, 4/13/2003, 10/8/2004, 7/6/2006, 7/7/2006, 7/9/2006, 7/10/2006, 6/12/2008, 6/16/2008,5/20-21/2010, 9/3-9/4/2011, 9/21/12, 9/22/12, EV solo Jax 11/25-11/26, 7/19/2013, 10/30/20130 -

I think you could get people to paypal in advance for the shuttle (if they were booking 10c shuttles they would be paying in advance) ... then if they don't get up in time it's their loss not yours. They would be paying knowing the time the shuttle is leaving.Post edited by chime onSo are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?0 -

Stuff in the area is booking super-fast.....I couldn't find anything reasonably priced within a 30 min. drive.
If you haven't booked yet, might wanna get on it quickly!!!
We ended up booking a Super8 in Illinois, which sounds far but isn't too bad..right across the border, about a 40 min. drive (not counting 2-3 hours in parking lot trying to exit:P )
And on the plus side, it's on our way back home, so we'll have knocked out 40 minutes of our seven hour return trip.0 -

We will rent a car from Chicago and we might not want to go in as early as the charter bus both days, especially on our reserved day. But if that bus can save 2 hours of gridlock leaving....
Here's the response from Alpine when asked if charter busses get priority exiting of the property:
Hello,
Charter busses are not given any specialized treatment when it comes to leaving the property after a concert.

That almost doesn't seem worth it then if we chip in money for the shuttle and still get stuck in the parking lot after the shows. Might be easier for everyone to just pair up with people who have cars. Isn't parking at Alpine free? Or included in the cost of the ticket?DAL-7/5/98,10/17/00,6/9/03,11/15/13

From the Livenation Alpine page:

Only issue with this is designated driver. We were a group with a car but were going to use the shuttle so our designated driver could then drink. So are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?0 -

I was looking at the Live Nation site and it had this info on parking:
"Parking
Early Parking Lot Entry: We charge $20 for cars and $50 for limos or oversized vehicles for entry to the parking lots prior to the schedule lot time. Cash only – day of onsite.
General Parking:
A parking fee is included in the price of your ticket unless otherwise noted.
VIP Parking:
VIP Parking is located close to the front gates and is held until show time.
Look for our VIP Parking signs or ask a parking attendant when you arrive at the venue. We'll be more than happy to point you in the right direction!
VIP Parking is available for an additional charge of $30.00.
Limo/Bus/RV/Oversized Vehicle Parking:
Taking a limo, bus, or RV to the show? We've got room for you too!
Limo Parking is available for an additional charge of $75.00.
Oversized Vehicle Parking (including all types of Busses and RV’s, Campers, Vehicles with trailers, etc.) is available for an additional charge of $100.00.
All Parking Passes can be purchased in advance online and on the day of the show in our parking lots (subject to availability.)"
So could there be a VIP bus parking option? Also as we will need 40 people to all make it back to the bus we wouldn't be ready to leave too promptly after the show anyway.
The VIP parking passes go on sale soon so if shuttle isn't decided on we may go back to the taking a car option ... and BD can retake his designated driver roleSo are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?0 -
Venue reports parking lot would open at 9am so anytime after that is free for regular vehicles.11/17/93, 9/17/95, 10/2/96, 6/27/1998, 10/21/2000, 4/13/2003, 10/8/2004, 7/6/2006, 7/7/2006, 7/9/2006, 7/10/2006, 6/12/2008, 6/16/2008,5/20-21/2010, 9/3-9/4/2011, 9/21/12, 9/22/12, EV solo Jax 11/25-11/26, 7/19/2013, 10/30/20130

Hi AliveinFl,
Any updates on what we are going to do Friday night?....I am still down for going to a local bar and having a few drinks...Also, would be neat to find one with a jukebox....We can actually play some good music...
Jeremy0 -
My husband and I will be driving as well. I don't drink at PJ shows(I like to remember it all), and if I do it's only a couple and way before they come on. My memory is shot as it is, I don't need alcohol making things worse! I'm not sure what kind of a car we will end up with, but I'm sure we can take at least 2 if not 3 people with us.
I think the shuttle is a great idea to keep people off the road, but it may be hard getting enough people to commit. I would hate for you to lay out so much $$ AliveinFl, and not get it back.
On a side note, now that I have tix, were you all able to get Expo passes?0 -
I will have a rental car and I don't drink either(at the shows) so I could definitely drive and probably bring 2 with me also. I thought it would be cool to ride with a bus full of fans especially after the show. But I guess I am not seeing enough interest. I would like to go to a small bar Friday night also. I may call the owner of the New Horizons bar a little less than a mile away and just let him know we may a few people come but don't plan of filling the bar. That is good with me.11/17/93, 9/17/95, 10/2/96, 6/27/1998, 10/21/2000, 4/13/2003, 10/8/2004, 7/6/2006, 7/7/2006, 7/9/2006, 7/10/2006, 6/12/2008, 6/16/2008,5/20-21/2010, 9/3-9/4/2011, 9/21/12, 9/22/12, EV solo Jax 11/25-11/26, 7/19/2013, 10/30/20130

I'm planning on renting a car, but I wouldn't be adverse to jumping on a shuttle if it means I can party. If I'm driving, no way. The Two Seasons Bowl in nearby Elkhorn is selling bus shuttle tickets for Jimmy Buffett for $35 each. See how he is doing it below
http://two-seasons-bowl.com/Buffett_Bash_2011.html
This is the guy Karen at the Super 8 had called when I reserved the meeting room. I called him, and he admitted he hadn't called her back. He is using 5 buses for Buffett now, and is open to doing it for Pearl Jam. People would have to drive to Elkhorn which is 10 minutes away.
For My Wife and I, that would be 2 x 2x 35 = $140 for both days. To be honest, I think it would be more economical and flexible to car pool with our rental car. But I thought I would point this possibility out, since this guy would line it up, and no one would have to risk their own funds.Charles
