Since I need to work 3 jobs , the odds of me being home are slim  . Hoping wifey will be able to order tickets. If not, I'll need a little help from my friends 8-) .

anyone from Toronto area plan on going to PJ20? seems like a very long drive or an expensive flight. I hope the opening bands arent that great, so it will make my decision so much easier of just doing a few cdn shows.

  • Glad to finally see there is an announcement coming. However, sounds like it's Alpine for sure which means I'm out. Hope everyone else has a blast. I guess on the bright side I will be saving a ton of money this summer.

So, is Pearl Jam the only band (aside from an opening act) to play at Alpine Valley, or will this be a festival with many bands?

So far, we have Soundgarden, Mudhoney, Ben Harper & Relentless 7, Liam Finn and The Strokes as the possible opening acts.

Ben Harper has a gig in California labor day weekend.

MMJ is available labor day weekend.

I think it will be at Bonnaroo Farms.... why? Because Bonnaroo announced that they sold out the same day Pearl Jam announced that something was going down on Monday. I think they have contracted with Bonnaroo to have it there and one stipulation is that they could not announce it until after Bonnaroo or until Bonnaroo sold out so that they would not draw ticket sales from Bonnaro.

I also think Alpine Valley is WAY too small 35K is silly. They will be playing shows on tour with more seats than that. A destination weekend will require a lot more room.

It has also been announced that it will be in the middle of the country- Alpine Valley is not in the Middle of the country, but Bonnaroo is in the middle. The bird says "have you been living in a Valley" I think this is an insinuation that it will NOT be in a valley, not that it WILL be.

Just my thoughts. I may be wrong, hope not because if it is at Bonnaroo it will be a BLAST. If it is at Alpine Valley, it will be about driving to and from the show, hotels and a big pain.

ugh, driving 2x to Bonnaroo in a 3 month span...but size wise would be ideal. What if it just a fan club festival? Could Alpine Valley cater to that?

what's your reasoning that it means it will not be in a valley instead of it being in a valley?
don't get me wrong, i'm not angry with you or anything, im with you i'd rather it be at bonnaroo too, i'm just intrigued by your reasoning..

No cash necessary. This will be a free fan-club only show. It's our Fan Club Holiday gift this year.

If my records are correct, the last Tweet we received was about the Aussie EV tour, which was on November 10, 2010, and we didn't get specific dates until November 29, 2010 (approximately).

So maybe I missed it, but why are we assuming there will be an announcement, let alone a sale, this next week? I hope we figure out the tickets sooner than later, but history suggests we may be waiting a while. I sure as FUCK hope not.

    Any thoughts?

My memory seems to think that when shows are announced, in order to be eligible for 10c tickets your membership had to have been active as of midnight the day before. Since we've been told that we have until midnight tonight to ensure we have an active membership, it stands to reason that the announcement will come tomorrow....
