    After watching TLJ at home on Blu-ray, nice and baked...
    Still loved it, but some of the criticisms were more apt than I have credit at first.  Snoke backstory.  They can still have some but it can't have the same potency in a retrospective position as it would have if it built the same way the Luke/Ben reveal did.
    Leia floating wasn't as bad for me and I think it wasn't as hokey as people said, but the casino arc was a dud.  
    The things that he dropped from JJ's setup were dropped balls for sure, but the things he focused on, he nailed. 
    The overarching themes were presented very effectively...letting expectations from the past go, both within the STU and in the real world...the Lone Ranger hotshot's time ending...the intense connections between Kylo and Rey and both of them to the Force...all really well done. 
    Those Kylo/Rey scenes are the very best in the film history of Star Wars.  Adam Driver and Daisy Ridley are fantastic actors and they really just nailed it. 
    They are so fantastic though that they make Finn and Poe...and half the others, look like amateurs.  
    Rey's parents being nobody's was the only outcome that isn't corny as hell, so I think he nailed that.
    Snoke though...

    Truth be told I bought it on Amazon shortly after released....and haven't watched it yet.  I really liked it the first time and am waiting a bit longer.  
    Odd.  Figured I would want to watch right away but I didn't press play yet.

    I've only watched TLJ once since purchasing it on blu ray.
    Have not had a chance. Was going to tonight but I am so tired I don't even want to watch a movie.

    I'll see Solo eventually but I'm not buying advance tickets and I have no plans to be there opening weekend.

    I tried to revisit The Last Jedi a few weeks ago but didn't make it very far. There are a few great scenes but overall I just don't enjoy that film. All these months later I'm still a little surprised at how disappointed I was by Episode VIII.

    Quite a difference in excitement level from last year to this year.
