Screw Trump. Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, Paul Ryan, Ron Paul and just about any other GOP hopeful, excluding Sarah Palin, would be a better choice.

  • I actually am a bit surprised that conservatives haven't suggested Snookie as a running mate.

i mean, she's conservative, she's a great self-promoter, she's got no shame, she's got a successful reality show... she appeals to young voters and old people with TVs and wheel chairs.

I mean, she's just as qualified and has just as much experience.

Mind you, she hasn't bankrupted 4 companies or been divorced 4 times.... so.... maybe he should be her running mate?

My sentiments exactly. Even Krauthammer sees Trump as a joke.

This is a scary statement on where we are as a society. Most people know Trump as the host of a relaity TV show, and that is what will get him elected. Idiocracy, here we come!!! (Or, as "gimmesometruth" has agreed, we may be already there!).

Aside from being too young, we haven't seen her birth certificate, either.

    And i don't remember seeing George W Bush's or Bill Clinton's.

Trump and Palin are not the BEST that the GOP has to offer. It's just that the republican voters are too stupid to think for themselves. Instead they listen to FOXNews and Rush Limbaugh. I think it's telling that FOXNews doesn't include Ron Paul's poll numbers on their shows. Ron Paul is polling at 10 percent in Iowa and New Hampshire, but you wouldn't know it if you get your news on TV.

I think leading up to the crap about the birth certificate, the reason he was/is doing well in some polls is because he actually has some pretty solid opinions. He's pretty much against us being the world police, he hates the trade relationships we have with various countries like China, and he's for us being more independent. There's really nothing wrong with any of those views, and that is something the majority of the people in this country support. I'd rather have someone who's already a billionaire, who can finance a campaign with the change he leaves on his dresser drawer at night, as opposed to someone who is beholden to a myriad of campaign contributors. I believe we need someone like him, just not him.

Yes. He SAYS a lot of nice things. So, he is already qualified to be a politician.

It amazes me that we elect politicians based on what they SAY they are going to do, and then they get into office and we are disappointed, sometimes unjustifiably due to our idiotic instant gratification culture, that they did not immediately do everything they said they would do. THEN, we just attach ourselves to the next candidate who SAYS nice things.

Is something wrong with this picture? Is society this deranged? I think so. I mean, we still haven't realized that our addiction to oil has formed a warped, extremely dangerous Middle Eastern foreign policy. Do we need another 9/11 to wake us up to make some changes?

you can't really believe he's gonna make a run on his own dime ... the problem with america is the corporatization of gov't ... he epitomizes that ...

i would be fearful of us actually becoming an official fascist nation if a businessman like trump took office. well...the corporations and big business runs this country anyway so we are almost there already....

in response to whygohome i would just like to say that we don't need another 9/11 to wake us up because all that will do is cause another outbreak of blind flagwaving patriotism without looking into the actual reasons for why we are being attacked, and hopefully doing things to prevent future attacks. the lessons of 9/11 have not been learned and the first one did not wake us up, and when 40% of the population believes that iraq was behind 9/11 because iraq hates our freedom, i would say that the lesson was never learned to begin with....

and it is pretty sad when brick tamlin's iq of 48 is higher than our collective iq of 32 :lol:

i would like to see what kids are being taught in school about 9/11. we are probably portrayed as the innocent victims. and i will bet that no mention of OBL telling us what we have to do, like getting out of saudi arabia, in order to prevent an attack.

i hope it is not anything like my school, we only spent 2 days on the whole vietnam war.

technically it was just a conflict so two days sounds right

some day the education system won't be a joke...I cannot wait for that day...

However, regardless of why we were attacked, I don't think it is good policy to give in to the demands of a lunatic. If that was the case, no government in the world would be able to do anything because lunatics will always be against them one way or another... ... maybe we should start giving in now that I think about it...no aggressive foreign policy of any kind  yep I like that idea

edit*** back on topic, I think Trump is a guy like Newt, using the free publicity to sell books and his image all the while having no plans to actually be president. anyone who considers him a serious candidate should simply look at the fact that he has serious questions about the birth certificate of Obama...in my mind you cannot be a serious candidate and do that.

Are those straw poll results? Those don't mean a whole lot. Nationally, the GOP nom leader is Huckabee at around 18%, edging out Romney and Trump. This is setting up for a great year of comedy as it couldn't be written any better. Let's hope Palin stays in the mix!
