    now we wait.

i'd rather see the NFL miss a season than miss a season of Rose coming into his prime :x

that ain't happening my friend. nfl lockout will be over soon.

i doubt the nba misses more than a few weeks...considering how long the season is, that's not a bad thing.

looks like we both got a nikola last night. who would have thought?

The MLB learned it's lesson after 1994 and 1995. I would never be able to handle an MLB lockout.

We get MLB games all the time now here in Aus, pretty much every day.

some older (2004-2006) NJ Nets statements

i would avoid the authors analysis, read the statements and make your own conclusions

it just makes me sad that we are going to miss a year of D. Rose. 98-99 season didn't bother, as the Bulls were broken up, but this winter is going to blow with games.

imo, there is nothing wrong with the soft cap, except for the owners over paying avg and below avg players.

I agree on both accounts. My winter's will also suck with no NBA to watch.

With the playoffs happening the way they did last year, I was super excited to see some new blood this upcoming season. The Bulls will only get stronger, and OKC should be recognized as possibly the next powerhouse in the West.

Do you think that they'll really skip an entire season though? I just don't see them doing that and missing that revenue. However, I'm sure a good amount of fans have already declared to drop off of the NBA... I can only imagine that number will increase the longer this goes on.

Like it's been reported, the majority of fans of the NBA have a very hard time relating to NBA players saying that they want/need more money.

It doesn't help when a select players (now, and in the past) have said the foot-in-mouth things that they had. For instance, Patrick Ewing (albeit, not during this lockout... but still) ... "Sure, we make a lot of money, but we spend a lot to."

Why exactly do you feel lik you have to spend more money just because you make more?

i'd be suprised if there was a season.

sounds like at this point, they are just sitting on their hands without any talking. they need to be talking now. it's not like they take 6 months off like the nfl does. they have like 3 months to get a deal done before training camp opens.

The Union guy sounds like a clown. I forget his name.

I think the owners are going to dig in and wait until the players crack. IMO, the owners really want to cut salary and add a hard cap and i have a feeling the players won't crack anytime soon.

    Hope i'm wrong

I hope you're wrong too... I want a season. Like you said, they need to be working on this now. They should have met again already, in my opinion. The off-season is way too short to be wasting the crucial time of being able to negotiate by just being idle on the issue.
