wait so having a PhD writing about race and sports does not qualify me for this? ;)
It is funny though looking back at our MT posts and generally here we often agree, except on LeBron.

Mark Cuban is in my top 5 choices of famous people to party with.

    Kimmel
    Cuban
    Sheen

I'll have to think about this. Probably deserves it's own thread

that's about as fraudulent as it gets. where did you hear that?

i heard heat fans, still wearing their team's gear, were cheering for the mavs at whatever bar they were at the other night.

You are right on that one...I've been following this since forever, and am thinking about writing about it for a journal article. However, I think that I may be a bit clouded by my allegiance to LeBron. Funny thing is my academic "big brother" is a huge D-Rose fan, so he's been giving me shit while slightly agreeing with me.

Juggler you are basically right - I am this boards Al Sharpton. It's my job to see things through the lenses of race/class/gender/sexuality/ability/age etc. Actually to be honest my job is to people watch and make some sense of it. The fact that I get to use sports to do so is amazing.

in fairness to one, they clip says he played for the mavs for several years....

but i still wouldn't want to party with my buds post losing out on a championship. go congradulate them in the locker room, but that's where it ends...

If they are talking about Eric Dampier he doesn't belong in the same room as the Mavericks. That waste of space and money was completely useless.

They did the same thing to a buddy at the Byron Nelson, the Irving cops were just pointing at people stepping off the shuttle and arresting them for PI's with no sobriety test given. I haven't seen this guy drink in 2 years so I know he wasn't. Oh well....I bet Stevenson parties like a champ though.

That was Dan's reaction to hearing the audio clip of Dirk singing We are the Champions. To put it mildly, he's not winning any karaoke contests anytime soon.
