No way, Miami takes it by a long shot. Phoenix is pretty bad too, but Miami takes it by a long shot. The Dolphins games always have tons of empty seats, the Marlins shouldn't even exist their games are so poorly attended. They only sold out their first game in their new stadium and by the 3rd game it was half empty. And no one cared or even knew who the heat were before the king of flop got there, and once he's gone they will quickly forget all about basketball again. The screen shot of Pat Riley sitting behind the bench with 28 seconds left and long lines of fans exiting says it all. It was a 5 freaking point game, not double digits. This type of stuff doesn't happen in legit sports towns, only in the disgrace that is Miami.

I'd have to disagree. Although, Florida is definitely bad when it comes to baseball, but thats mostly the owners and the location. But the Heat have always been decently popular here. There were a few good eras before Lebron where fans filled the place.when he leaves, there will likely be a down cycle for a bit, but the Heat will be fine.
ahh just skimming through i'm feeling a lot of hatred for Lebron and Bosh. Dwade seems to be getting out unscathed - which makes no sense. He is terrible right now. At least Bosh appears to be trying haha.
I really hope Miami wins tonight - I never thought i would be rooting for Lebron but what can i say - i like the bad guy and somehow the best player in the league has become the ultimate villain.

I'm by no means a Miami fan but in a way I also hope they win tonight. It's just not good for the league to have their best player known as a guy who can't come through in the clutch. Russell, West, Magic, Bird, Jordan, Kobe etc, all those guys were known as winners and clutch. If LeBron can't reach that level as clearly the best player in the league it isn't good for the NBA. I know he brought a lot of it on himself with "The Decision" but at this point who can argue that going to Miami was a bad career move? Bad PR move no doubt but really who cares at this point outside of Cleveland?
I guess Chris Bosh took his own advice and decided not to show up tonight... 0 points. Everybody loves to hate LeBron and he's got flaws in his game but he's shown up in big spots the last 2 years when he needs to, unbelievable physical specimen. Reminds me of my favorite athlete growing up, Bo Jackson.

Most entertaining NBA Finals series since the Bulls-Utah series in 97 & 98. Probably best finals since 84 Celts vs Lakers, Spurs are a great team and gave Miami all they could handle.
What will you remember most from this series? I'd say probably that Ray Allen shot it game 6 and LeBron completely shutting down Tony Parker. Spolestra made some great adjustments riding the hot hands each game among Miller, Allen, Battier, Chalmers, Cole, Birdman.

Game 6..... Spurs had 10pt lead, Miami took it back, Parker big 3pt shot and teardrop.... Then like 10 things have to go Miami's way and against Spurs for the Heat to pull it out.... And it did.
Really amazing series.
Games 1,6,7 all fantastic.....a shame 3/4 best games were wasted on those turd fans of south beach

Let's face it. Lebron is third all-time after Jordan and Magic as far as non-centers go. Kobe and Larry Bird aren't even close to him.
well I totally disagree. I think Kobe and Bird (for sure) were better than Lebron. One question, what skill does Lebron possess that is better than what Kobe and Bird had to make him better? Bird is one of the best shooters and passers of all time. and Bird played in a much more highly competitive era of the NBA. I think Kobe is a better shooter, probably a better defender, and both players intangible's are way better than Lebron's. not knocking Lebron because he is great, just not ready to put him in the top 5 yet.
Yep. Besides that 1 huge game Ginobili had, he was fucking terrible. Isn't he retiring? If not, he should.
Lebron is the best. No doubt about it. Heat are a great team, but definitely not up there with the all-time great teams (90s Bulls, 80s Lakers, 80s Celtics)

Okay well he's obviously a much, much, much better defensive player than Bird. And he's better than Kobe too. And I'm not taking away from either of them. Bird wasn't that good of an on-ball defender but he can jump passing lanes and make steals. Kobe is a better on-ball defender than Bird but he can't guard every position like Lebron. Nor could he rebound or block shots as well as Lebron. Passing? Lebron's better than Kobe by a mile (and about the same as Bird). He gets the basket more often than both. He's not as good a jump shooter as either but he's good enough. And as far as intangibles go, I'll give ya Bird. But Kobe? He's ball-hog that doesn't make teammates better. I don't care how intense he is or how he holds his teammates accountable or whatever else could make people think that Kobe is better than Lebron. He's just not.

I've never seen Kobe deer-in-the-headlights look like Lebron had in the last 3 minutes of game 6. Lebron was as bad as any star player has been in an NBA finals in those last 3 minutes of game 6. he was awful in that stretch. he got bailed out by the Spurs missing 2 free throws and a great shot by Ray Allen. If that doesn't happen is this even a discussion yet?
no one has ever played off Kobe daring him to take jump shots like the Spurs did with LeBron last night.
end of the game, one shot for an NBA Championship i'm taking Jordan, Bird and Kobe all before LeBron. in my eyes of those 4 Lebron has the best chance of bricking that winning shot.

I'm not sure what you're talking about with game 6. Didn't he hit a three on the possession right before Allen's three? Lebron's three was just as big as Ray's because without it, Ray's isn't even for the tie. And yes, nobody has ever played off Kobe daring him to shoot....which is why this finals loss is mostly on Pop. That was beyond moronic. If Lebron bricked all his shots and they lost, you'd have argument there but he hit all the shots and finished with 37 points in a game 7. And speaking of game 7 shooting performances...remember game 7 of the 2010 finals against Boston when Kobe was like 6 for 24 shooting? You want to talk about getting bailed out by your teammates and/or the other team playing like shit, that game is the best example I've ever seen. And as for one shot to win a championship, yeah I'm taking Jordan and Bird before Lebron. But not Kobe. If I need an airball that Metta World Peace could rebound and put back, I'll take Kobe for that.

yes but here is LeBron's last 39 seconds in game 6 (via Espn game tracker).
0.39 seconds - turnover
0.28 seconds - turnover (actually air ball from about 7 feet but they called it a pass)
0.23 seconds - missed 3 (mike miller rebounds and gets ball back to LeBron)
0.20 seconds - made 3
0.07 seconds - missed 3 (bosh rebounds and allen nails the game tying shot)

the only other thing you referred to was Kobe in 2010 game 7. yes he shot poorly but he was the leading scorer and leading rebounder in the game for either team and ended up with 23 points and 15 rebounds.
no problem agreeing to disagree I just wanted to know why you thought Lebron was clearly better than Kobe and Bird. it's all good.

Bosh is a loser
Spurs incredible Run probably Over, smallest Market in Nba and the accomplishments are crazy.
I thought Diaw should have gotten more time last 2 games. Green looked scared, over his head.
Duncan missing the short shot was tough to see.... But what a great game 6,7 he had...... Hopefully he plays another year.
Battier was big
"..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."
“..That came up on the Pillow Case...This is for the Greek, With Our Apologies.....”

Chris Cornell was there tonight too
Miami fans leaving early in game 6 and proving every stereotype about them is 100% true.

well I totally disagree.

1-3 from 3 and 2 turnovers.
Alright fine but what everything else I wrote? Actually don't bother with it. We'll just agree to disagree.

the only other thing you referred to was Kobe in 2010 game 7. yes he shot poorly but he was the leading scorer and leading rebounder in the game for either team and ended up with 23 points and 15 rebounds.
no problem agreeing to disagree I just wanted to know why you thought Lebron was clearly better than Kobe and Bird. it's all good.
