- I just spent over $240 on the SDE of Vs & Vitalogy to listen to the same songs that I have on numerous CDs and bootlegs "remastered"
- I spent the 2 nights I had in Vancouver attending solo Eddie shows in 2008 (totally ignoring the friends I was staying with)... And spent all afternoon waiting for Eddie to arrive at the theatre istead of siteseeing Then because we didnt get to meet him, stayed back after the 2nd concert in about 2 degrees for over an hour until i FINALLY MET HIM (best moment of my life so far!!!)
- I totally worked my holiday around PJ and travelled from London to Nijmegen Holland to see Pearl Jam in 2007.
- In 2009 I travelled to Perth and Adelaide to see PJ cos seeing them in my hometown Melbourne just wasnt enough.
- This year I travelled to Brissy to see Eddie solo and then also went to the 2 Melbourne shows
- My family know not to bother buying me PJ stuff cos I have it all

When I lived in FL and PJ was in town I'd hang at the beach I suspected Eddie would show up at all day everyday they were in town just hoping to get a chance to meet him....never did see him :(
I've been a fan since I was 15...I'll be 35 in October.
My kids can sing the lyrics to almost every PJ song..they're 5 and 8.
My screen saver/wallpaper on my iphone, mac and ipod are all Eddie/PJ.
I will marry any female that posts in this thread!
My cat stepped on the keyboard a few times when I was typing my post. Her name is Butterscotch. PM me if you are interested. Unfortunately she's spayed, but she's still really nice.

Please, Pearl Jam, consider a Benaroya Hall vinyl reissue!
Fan since '93, 8 PJ shows, 2 Eddie solo shows (2 more coming up), All albums, all dvds, check this forum constantly, listen to PJ or Eddie while exercising and commuting to and from work (approx. 1 hour each way) every day, posters (framed) of all shows I've been to except one, lots of bootlegs, did the "spreadsheet thing", plan vacations around PJ tours, did the mixed cd thing for the wife (not a huge fan of PJ) and dragged her to 3 PJ shows and 2 Eddie shows (although for the Eddie shows, she didn't need much coaxing!!)
The most "fanatical" venture was making a "pilgrimmage" to Seattle in 09. It's about 2800 miles one way from Boston. Was there for Backspacer release and the 2 shows at Keyarena. Had to go to Easy Street records in West Seattle and HAD to buy "live at Easy Street" there.
Love this band and love that I have a place to share that fact with all you "kindred spirits".

In 98 i was suppose to meet what is now my beautiful wife instead I had to cancel because i was going to the cleveland (blossom) show in which i couldnt take her because i already promised the ticket to a friend. That night as we were parting in the car I seen someone skateboarding. Once the smoke cleared the man skateboarding stopped and hand planted my brand new car and i about shit my self it was Eddie. Now just so you are aware my reaction time was rather slow at the moment if you know what i mean Eddie said "i know where the party is at" with a shit eating grin on his face. At this time I fumbled to get out of the car and by the time i did there was at least 50-75 people surronding him. the cops came and escorted him back inside. Freaking awesome i swear i didnt wash that car all summer. Any way i warned her before we got serious that Eddie was the best thing next to god himself. She of course looked at me like i was freaking crazy. in 2000 we changed our wedding date because it interfered with the columbus show. We have fought about all 30 plus shows i have been to since except the three she went with me. the craziest thing ive done was for the ev solo tour i drove to milwaukee and back to cleveland in the same night and then drove from cleveland to chicago and then back home with a day of rest in between. it was one of those times where money was tight so i had to go and couldnt stay the night. this year i will be going to detroit and coming back home picking my wife up and heading to chicago. we scored fifteenth row floor which will be the closest she has ever been partying at the hardrock and making a well deserved vacation out of it. Now if i can only talk her in to night 2 ill be set
Sort of like our lives, the 1st time my husband called me for our 1st date was 2006 while I was in Cleveland waiting for the show :-) I couldn't go obiviously, so our 1st date was the next day, and 2 years later (almost to the date) we got married so I will always remember that show! Our 1 year wedding anniversary (its paper) so he gave me a blank check to go see them in 09 in San Diego on my birthday!! He couldn't go so I went with a friend and got to meet Mike, Matt & Jeff!! It was freaking awesome!! Got a ticket to Ed's solo show in Detroit and guess what comes out on our 3 year wedding anniversary...Ed' solo album!!! I love this band!!!!!

I have had a thought of Pearl Jam every single day since August of 1992 and many good and happy things have come my way through my Love of Pearl Jam!
Thank You Pearl Jam!!!
whenever there's a big event in pearl jam history and it's feasible for me to attend i will find a way to go. when i found out they were closing the spectrum in philly i decided to buy tickets to the 30th and 31st show even though i can't drive and didn't have money for hotels. so, i took a megabus there, saw the show, went back home to pick up my brother (made it back home at 6am) we both went on another megabus there and back. we were some of the last people to ride the subway back too, if we had missed the subway we would have been stuck in philly with no hotel until morning. so overall i was awake for a good 40+ hours.
there's a lot of history of me having to take trains/buses for some pearl jam, like the ones i took to hartford and dc when i was a teenager (we stayed in hartford overnight in 08 and had to lie about a lot of things to be able to stay at the motel 6, which was 21 and over for check in). i also got up extra early to take the earliest train to brooklyn to be able to make it in time to check in to plant trees. i figured planting trees would be fun then i could watch the show later. turns out waking up at the crack of dawn to plant trees was so worth it since i got to meet stone
in school during free time or when class was boring i would write dozens of drafts of a letter to eddie vedder for "just in case". then in 08 i got to kinda sorta meet him before his solo show and give him the letter. don't know if he read it or cared but still...
and i remember one time i tried to go a month without listening to pj so that i don't go into overkill and after a week i grabbed my brother's iPhone from his hand and searched for pearl jam music and listened to Sometimes to calm my nerves
ummm..now i'll show you how mature i am..or was...in the later 90s.. my ex hated pj and even worse, eddie...and when things were coming to an end for us, and he knew that pj meant the world to me, he used to really get on me all the time about how eddie's singing sounded like a goat or a frog ( to him).... to which i responded (so maturely) by putting Evil Little Goat in the cd player in his truck whenever i got the chance, and plastering pj stickers, you know the ones that he wouldn't necessarily KNOW were pj stickers, on his truck bumper....his truck was his pride and joy..so he rode around with pj love all over it and never even knew it (childish?) ya...well....and i do have to admit, that the last straw for me was when he FORBID ...yep...FORBID me to go to any PJ shows.. yeah, well, you can guess where that went....so i suppose i could say that i got a divorce over PJ...but that wouldn't be true...exactly
but besides all that nonsense....and that was WAY WAY long ago....
and i'm not proud of that..but its way long forgotten..and so much the better for it....
cut till later, now you're strong, you've bled yourself, the wounds are gone, survived and now among the fittest...
so now...i am on here in the pit every day when i should be working
i think i belong to every facebook pj group there is
even started one or two myself
ALL my fb friends, other than relatives, are PJ friends
i use ANY blemish on my car as an excuse for needing to place a pj sticker over it
i have all the band (if they participate)members and fan clubs or anything even remotely connected to pj on my twitter, facebook, etc.
I make PJ jewelry on a regular basis..and if i can't make it, i have someone else make it for me
i paint, and when i fill a canvas, there is always some hidden pj reference in the finished piece (you guys would probably catch it, but others wouldn't)
I used to take my kids to PJ shows..now that they are grown, my son, the only one who can put up with my over the top crap, takes ME to some shows...or ...we go together (sometimes)
EVERYTHING and ANYTHING can turn into a PJ reference..everything
i spend way too much time and money on all things pj and/or eddie
i own (quite possibly) every show that there ever was, old or new, big or little, pj or ed solo (and some side projects too).. recently i i had to go out and buy a 2 terabyte drive so i could back up all the shows cuz i'd be crushed if i lost even one
whenever i am watching tv and anything pj or ed related comes along...say a snippet of music, or a reference to some lyric..i guess i must make some giggle, or some sort of acknowledgement..cuz everyone seems to chime in...oh, no let me guess...it's pearl jam..no, don't tell me, its alright....(that happens more than i'd like to admit)
and the best thing...oh and everyone loves this..lemme tell ya..i CRY
let me hear ed start singing something that has special meaning (hahhaaa and THAT could be anything)
and the tears start flowing...geez man, there's just no helping it
i don't know..there are prob a lot more silly little things
most recently the thing is PJ20...
my family keeps saying..HOW are you going to go to that, just exactly? HOW? you don't know WHERE it is..you don't know WHEN it is...you don't know HOW MUCH it's going to cost..you don't know HOW you are getting there...you don't know WHERE you'll STAY....you don't know THE PEOPLE you'll take with you/ride with/stay with (i get that one every time tho)....so jsut HOW EXACTLY are you doing this??? you know...and a lot more negativity.
to which my response is the same as yours most likely... "I Don't Know....But I AM"
am i right?
and i'm sure many of you, if you've shared your "plans" or lack thereof..are hearing the same thing
does that make me a bigger fan than anyone else...NOPE...for sure..NOT
but it does drive the people around me crazy
i think they should just chill
does it drive your friends and family nuts?
peace,
jo

can I also throw in that I bought a brick from the Spectrum because I was at all 4 shows and the first night I was wearing my 'I love Eddie Vedder' tshirt and during black while the music was playing, Eddie was going across the stage checking out the fans. I was in the 12th row and had an end seat ,so I jumped out in the aisle and he noticed my shirt, pointed me out and let me know he loves me too lol it was one of the greatest moments of my life hahaha then he went back to the microphone and starting singing 'we belong together' lmao i was in heaven that night lol
Up until the time my life fell apart and everything changed....I purchased my home based on the fact that it had a shop that could house my collection....I spruced it up a bit and it turned into this......
Due to life...it never turned into what I wanted....but it was a good idea....Will be losing this in the weeks to come...but it was fun while it lasted....still my passion...my obsession...but everything has changed.... :(
Sorry to hear it. If you need to sell and you have any Hartford posters, I'm in the market.
I will marry any female that posts in this thread!
Hope you believe in polygamy b/c there are plenty!
yeah, right? time for a move to utah for him

Alright, I drove 3 hours down to Syracuse, then took a 5 hour bus down to NYC, went to MSG II 08, had to leave a bit early, RAN back to Port Authority, just in time to get on the midnight bus back to Syracuse then drove the 3 hours back in time to catch my daughter's 8AM end of the year School program that morning. I didn't want to miss my daughter's program or Pearl Jam, which took place about 11 hours apart at 2 locations that were 8 hours apart. Unfortunately missed Ace Frehley though, but it couldn't be helped.

I've been a fan since I heard a tape a co-worker had back in 91 when we worked at a Six Flags (Great America in IL). It was Temple of the Dog on one side and Ten on the other. Loved them ever since. Bought every cd on the release date. Have a few posters, and a few bootlegs, Ten through Yield on vinyl. I have the Ten SDL box and just recieved the Vs/Vitalogy SDL box yesterday. I've got some fanclub singles and different iterations of the 10Club magazines. And I have a Stickman tattoo on my leg (the wife does, too, but hers is the size of a quarter, whereas mine is a little bigger than the Alive single cd cover LOL) that I got in '98.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, I may not have been to as many shows as everyone else here and I certainly don't have enough memorbilia to fill a whole house let alone one room, but does this count?....
When I saw them in Ft. Lauderdale in 1996, the band started playing "Black" and I had what some might call a religious experience. I don't know WHAT to call it, but I started crying and could not stop. I held my wife and just sobbed like a baby. It was very strange as I'm not normally a "cryer". The crazy thing was, the more I tried to stop, the more I couldn't. It just kept coming and it actually felt good after a minute.
These guys will ALWAYS hold a special place in my heart even if I'm not the hardcore fan I wish I could be.

I love reading all these stories ... great thread!
I just banned myself from ebay for a month because I couldn't stop buying PJ stuff ...
My boyfriend and I travelled to Verona (2006) and Berlin (2009) to see PJ perform at two of the most beautiful locations in the world.
Some time ago Into the wild inspired me to learn to play the ukulele, so I surfed the internet for weeks to find out all there is to know about ukuleles ... went to several shops to find the one I wanted ... until I heard Ed play the intro to Porch during ACL and realized just how awesome it would be to be able to do that, so I switched to wanting to learn to play the electric guitar. Of course I want to play PJ music only ... so I'm having my guitar teacher build his lessons around PJ songs only! :P Last night I spent a good 2-3 hours selecting songs and the right youtube videos to go with them ... First lesson is next Wednesday by the way and the first song I'll be working on is rearviewmirror!

I was at that Ft Lauderdale show too and I cried on more than one occasion that night, Black being one of those songs..it's my favorite PJ song to this day. It was my first PJ show and while I had been a fan for several years at that point, that show was what made me a forever fan. I've only had the privilege to see them twice since then and like you, I do not have the means to own every poster, box set and whatever else may come out...my husband's in the military (we all know how much the military is paid  ) and I've spent most of my adult life in college..but I do own every single release and a handful of bootlegs..the ones that are important to me, like every live FL show I could get my hands on. Does this make me less or more of a fan than anyone else? I don't think it does :?

HOW? you don't know WHERE it is..you don't know WHEN it is...you don't know HOW MUCH it's going to cost..you don't know HOW you are getting there...you don't know WHERE you'll STAY....you don't know THE PEOPLE you'll take with you/ride with/stay with (i get that one every time tho)....so jsut HOW EXACTLY are you doing this??? you know...and a lot more negativity.
to which my response is the same as yours most likely...

My friend was going to see Eddie last night. Since he was in Vegas, I gave him 5 Grand to gamble with. I told him I wanted it all to go on Black. Bastard! PhillyCrownOfThorns-11-2-12
