Just how big of a fan are you?

I'm sure everyone here owns at least a few bootlegs, has seen them several times and owns a piece or two of memorabilia. But how extensive has your fanaticism reached? I find myself on this board constantly to hear the latest rumor, news etc. My car is constantly tuned into Pearl Jam Radio. When I get sick of that, I put the Pearl Jam section of my iPod on shuffle and create my own "Pearl Jam Radio". I'd say the nerdiest and most fanatic thing I've done is create a spreadsheet with every show I've been to and listed every song that I've seen so I have a reference of what I have seen and what I would like to see. (I was super bored and have an ex that still won't stop making fun of me...) So what kinds of things have you all done to prove your loyalty to Pearl Jam????

My hubby and I drove 31 hours straight, one-way, from Iowa to Mountain View to see them at the Bridge School Benefit. And we left first thing the next day after the show to come right back. Did the same for ACL '09 but it was a few hours (not much) closer. Also Pearl Jam never leaves any CD player, computer, X-Box, anything I can play it on. It's the screen saver and wall paper on my phone and computer. People around us think we are crazy--That's why it's nice to come here and see that other fans make the sacrifices we do to see the boys. Long live Pearl Jam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:clap::clap::mrgreen:

I'm still obsessed, but not as obsessed as I was from around 2000 to 2005.. I collected a few dozen boots from 2000 and 2003... I think I only bought The Gorge for '06 and downloaded a few shows from '09 and '10.

In '03 I logged on here every night to watch people post the set lists as they happened. THAT was obsession... I couldn't tell you what songs they were playing during the last few tours.. I'm sure it will die down a bit more, but I will always be a fan.

I also don't listen to them every day like I used to. Really the only album I've played lately is Backspacer, and I'm kind of tired of it. I'm ready for a new album. I'm tired of revisiting old stuff.

Thats hilarious! My co-workers were really rooting for me during the 45 minutes I spent to get the EV tickets at work... There was great applause when I finally landed them.

  • My PSP has all the albums stored on it plus Mirrorball, Into the wild S/T and a few other various other items that PJ did. When I'm not in the car listening to PJ radio I throw on the PSP hit scramble and I'm happy. :D

I work in a school super slow internet, I had them in my cart and once I entered my cc info, poof gone. When I arrived to work the next day clipped to my pj belgium poster was a white envelope, saying they pulled some strings, and inside was my ticket! I was able to get tickets on TM. Thanks to my teacher made lucky ticket of course :)

In 2003 we pretty much stalked them over a 10 day period. Saw them twice in camden/philly, 2 days later at MSG, 4 days later in Hershey and then 2 days later in Holmdel. Called out of work a few days to recover.

  • In 98 i was suppose to meet what is now my beautiful wife instead I had to cancel because i was going to the cleveland (blossom) show in which i couldnt take her because i already promised the ticket to a friend. That night as we were parting in the car I seen someone skateboarding. Once the smoke cleared :o the man skateboarding stopped and hand planted my brand new car and i about shit my self it was Eddie. Now just so you are aware my reaction time was rather slow at the moment if you know what i mean ;) Eddie said "i know where the party is at" with a shit eating grin on his face. At this time I fumbled to get out of the car and by the time i did there was at least 50-75 people surronding him. the cops came and escorted him back inside. Freaking awesome i swear i didnt wash that car all summer. Any way i warned her before we got serious that Eddie was the best thing next to god himself. She of course looked at me like i was freaking crazy. in 2000 we changed our wedding date because it interfered with the columbus show. We have fought about all 30 plus shows i have been to since except the three she went with me. the craziest thing ive done was for the ev solo tour i drove to milwaukee and back to cleveland in the same night and then drove from cleveland to chicago and then back home with a day of rest in between. it was one of those times where money was tight so i had to go and couldnt stay the night. this year i will be going to detroit and coming back home picking my wife up and heading to chicago. we scored fifteenth row floor which will be the closest she has ever been partying at the hardrock and making a well deserved vacation out of it. Now if i can only talk her in to night 2 ill be set ;)

    A few quick examples...
In 2000...I bought all 72 bootlegs of the world tour.
Same year...drove to Tampa with gf(now wife) straight through from Detroit..saw the show...caught a couple hrs sleep in parking garage after and then drove all the way home nonstop. Had time to shower and pack, and left for New Orleans(and then Memphis) with another friend. Made it to 8 more shows that tour in similar fashion.
My daughters middle name is Pearl, and she, at just under 3 yrs old, has already seen PJ twice and met Eddie and Matt.

I have at least 2-3 of each album (cd) so I can play them in my car or home at any time and just in case they get scratched. I didn't realize that was odd until my brother-in-law asked to borrow a couple and thought it was hilarious that I had so many.

Stickman sticker on my car, which my kids give me a bad time about, but I love.

I get cards from my artist stepdad on my birthday every year with drawings of PJ/Eddie and/or random photos.

For the past year or so, I have driven everyone in my family nuts by telling them that I really wanted Pearl Jam to play for my 40th birthday party...that didn't happen but I did get another card, pictures and a t-shirt that says "Mrs. Eddie Vedder" and some Pearl Jam earrings. LOL I'm like a 13 year old 40 year old.

My college boyfriend was actually jealous of my love for PJ, although he now gets in touch with me from time to time to let me know if they're going to be on SNL or Austin City Limits or whatever. My husband is also jealous of my affection and although he was a fan when we were dating and first married (14+ years ago) he is now completely burned out.

I can wake up to any Pearl Jam song anytime, listen to them throughout the day and fall asleep to them at night (release, indifference, immortality, black, etc. for drifting off) and then hear it all again the next day and never feel that I've had enough.

I've loved them for 20 years and I don't see that ending any time.

I am so retarded that when I walk into a store with a music section, I immediately take all the Pearl Jam Cd's and move them all over to the top 10 selling list
