If you've read the book, it opens the album up a lot. There are references in most of the songs about the people in the book, little things, images. It's very tenderly done. I think that the main references to Anne are in 'Holland, 1945', 'Ghost' and 'In The Aeroplane...'. I assume two-headed boy is about Peter, who she had a fling with in the secret annex, but I don't really know.
My only copy is digital. I've seen it a couple of times, but haven't gotten a vinyl copy... yet.
Hello, hello! Just came back from the customs office and I picked up a lovely package from jokertt
Here's what he sent me:
"Moonflower" by Santana and "Stealing time" by Ocha La Rocha.
I have no Santana album whatsoever, but this is looking very nice! I think it's good music to listen to on vinyl! I haven't heard of Ocha La Rocha so far, but I just googled the band a bit and I think I'll like this as well
THANK YOU very much, jokertt! (and thank you for putting your forum name into the address as well, it helped "identifying" you ...)
I'm becoming a frequent customer at the customs office these days which is sort of a nuisance because it's outside the city and I have to borrow a car and finish work earlier to get there and it always takes something of the surprise moment away if you have to open the package in from of those dull guys, but it's always fun to get records anyway
I had to give them copies of our pms to prove that this is a gift, very annoying :?
Does anyone else have these problems or knows how to overcome them? I don't know if they are going to believe me everytime
But problems away - will spin now and surely be back for a third round soon Good evening to everyone
EDIT: Listened to the Santana album and love it - very nice summer music And I opened the Ocha la Rocha album and just saw that it's a beautiful vinyl as well, looks like a picture disc in the style of engravings, lovely Sounds good, as well!
Please, Pearl Jam, consider a Benaroya Hall vinyl reissue!

Very Cool Glad you liked them . Sorry to hear about the customs stuff i always mark them as gifts i wonder if everyone gets hassled . lol
To be honest i don't understand the customs thing anyways . here in the states they just deliver it .

It's all about money ... I think if I got more than two LPs in one package, they will go check their value online despite the fact that the package is marked as a gift :? If the value is over about 45 €, I'd have to pay the VAT.
Just try to imagine a friend is going to give you his Benny Hall LPs for free and the customs people check the value because it's 4 LPs and marked as a gift  Well, ok that won't happen, though
I better get used to the people there, I'm awaiting at least two more record packages from Israel and the US...
Please, Pearl Jam, consider a Benaroya Hall vinyl reissue!

Yeah, same in Poland. I had to pay $40 to receive a vinyl package last week. It was like a jack, the guy delivered it to my door without prior notifiaciton of delivery and wouldn't give me the package until I gave him the money. I had no idea what was in the package, so I just had to hand over the cash. I guess next time that I'll try the 'gift' argument but I know it won't wash with POlish beaurocracy.

how do i take a photo and post it on here? I've seen you all do it but I'm not very techie...
thanks Clare (below). I'm still too stupid to follow those simple instructions and get it to appear as a photo and not a link. But I did work out how to show photos from wiki. thanks.

Take the picture, put it on your computer.
Search for photobucket or something similar on line, load the photo in there, then you you can copy the link and paste it in here and when you click preview it should appear.
Hope that makes sense
Still waiting for mine, but I know they've been a bit busy and I live a long way from anywhere, so I'm not worried.
I love the Manics, no matter what anyone says about them. I bought this album the week it was released and my mates were ripping me to shreds about it. 5 years later they were in designer pubs singing 'design for life'... really nice 12" with limited edition art print, very Richie.
This one is bang in my era, the kind of thing I love on vinyl.
Also a Buffalo Tom 'Sodejerk' 12", which is very cool. I remember them from back in the day and I loved his voice.
And... an Ugly Kid Joe 7" which, I'm afraid to say, I think I have.

Yep, I think I'll get more play out of Mike Oldfield than the one you took out. Can't say for sure, as I haven't heard the other album, so it's not possible to accurately compare. However, I like the Oldfield one, it reminds me of my days aimlessly wandering the peaks of the West country at weekends when I was a student. Very Good call on your part.
So... is this a European thing or can this Yank participate?
Also, what's the general condition of the vinyl everyone is sending out? Reason I ask is that I've just started up collecting since RSD after having gotten rid of most of my vinyl in the early '90s. I've been hitting flea markets and yard sales and have picked up an interesting bunch of stuff, but you know no one takes care of vinyl the way you would personally take care of vinyl. I'm talking some worn corners and spines, some scratches and marks (even after being clean) - although I would not send out skipping vinyl, there might be an extra pop or click to contend with. If it's a problem, let me know. Regardless, I'm good for a round or two, so if there's a positive response to my first question, I'll add myself to the list. - Mike

Everyone is welcome...Most important to me when I'm sending something is that the records are listenable with as little vinyl wear as possible.
