Third album I ever bought, I think I've played this record more times in my life than any other. Having only had the CD version before, I didn't realise that '10:15 on a Saturday Night', 'Other Voices', 'Play For Today' and 'A Night Like This' were not on the vinyl edition.
Just quickly, I won't bore you with the details. I've broken my arm three times and each time I got a Cure album for free the next day by sheer coincidence. So, I'm kind of wondering what is in store for me this time around...

Great story behind it too, it's all about the life of Anne Frank and how Jeff Mangum fell in love with her after reading the book. I think it is number one in the 'unknown treasures' of the musical world for me. Well, it's not unknown but it isn't known well enough.
And it is great fun to play on guitar. The whole album is easy and fun.

We got some nice music swapin' around this shop.
If you've read the book, it opens the album up a lot. There are references in most of the songs about the people in the book, little things, images. It's very tenderly done. I think that the main references to Anne are in 'Holland, 1945', 'Ghost' and 'In The Aeroplane...'. I assume two-headed boy is about Peter, who she had a fling with in the secret annex, but I don't really know.

Great story behind it too, it's all about the life of Anne Frank and how Jeff Mangum fell in love with her after reading the book. I think it is number one in the 'unknown treasures' of the musical world for me. Well, it's not unknown but it isn't known well enough.
And it is great fun to play on guitar. The whole album is easy and fun.

If you've read the book, it opens the album up a lot. There are references in most of the songs about the people in the book, little things, images. It's very tenderly done. I think that the main references to Anne are in 'Holland, 1945', 'Ghost' and 'In The Aeroplane...'. I assume two-headed boy is about Peter, who she had a fling with in the secret annex, but I don't really know.
