    Yes.
Both Sydney and Adelaide Throw ... are good. I'm currently double-checking on this Gone we have and the other suggestions we got for this track. So maybe if you do the same for WWS, we could end up finding a spot for Throw ... ?

I'm afraid I'm not in a position to 'listen' currently. I should be able to a bit later on though

    Ok.
I'll keep listening to Gone for a while, but so far I still like the version we have best. :x
I'll try and check on WWS afterwards, unless you can do it in the meantime.

Sydney and Adelaide are our only 2 choices.

    Of course  (at myself).

I have found a way to listen - so will give it a go for the next 20 minutes. I just heard a great version from a BBC Radio 1 session - but I don't know if that fits with our parameters.....!?? Was cool though, a bit different

Trust me you do not deserve any eye rolls. Eye rolls are typically reserved for certain people that make insane comments that ramble on and don't make any sense. (i.e. like that guy on this thread yesterday with the extremely long user name that was basically making fun of us)

I am trying to become one of the geek police, so far I’ve
1)Eating one family sized KFC bucket per week (maybe I should increase to one per day?)
2)I haven’t got a job and I have no plans on getting one (so I can spend more time on here pretending I have friends)
3)I will now start to criticise Pearl Jam every opportunity I get, especially at live show’s where I will now stand at the back.
If there is anything else is can do to join the elite geek critics (EGC) please let me know....

I agree with Tremors, we could easily replace WWS. They probably played that at almost every show of the tour.

I have listened to a fair few WWS's and the one that has most grabbed me has been

2006-08-27 Reading Festival, Reading, England, UK

A pretty wild version - I don't know if I'm also being biased though, since it was played on British soil! Sounds great though (I listened to the Marseille version, but it didn't cut it so much ;) )

    :o:D:D

    YEAH !!!

I totally like "Miracles" and it fits well if you think about it, especially if you think about the lyrics of it and "WWS".

"The whole world,... world over. It's a worldwide suicide."

    and

"I believe in a better world for me and you"

It's kind of realizing the shape of things and being optimistic about one day having a better world to live in.

WWS was not the highlight of the Marseille show 8-) .

About Gone : I understand it might not be a necessity to change it if we can change WWS, but as it is I 'surprisingly' caught myself listening to 'some' versions of it and I sort of feel we need this song to build up at some point. I'm not sure the acoustic version delivers that. I need to listen to it again though.

I reckon this project needs to have an optimistic thing to it as opposed to RA indeed. And, of course, our total objectivity regarding this song makes any justification as relevant as can be ;)

Have just been listening to Lifes Wasted - there are some good versions, but the one that stood out the most, and was a bit different (slightly slower tempo etc) was

2006-05-22 Palace Of Auburn Hills, Detroit, MI, USA

If we need to lose Worldwide Suicide from Adelaide, to make way for Throw your Hatred Down.... (sigh)

then Honolulu is very similar to the Adelaide version that I suggested, with the rolling drum intro.

If you're looking for a full-out version with Eddie barking it out, Vitoria 02/09 is much better than Reading in my opinion.

Reading vs. Honolulu vs. Vitoria who wins for WWS?

also, Dazzler had some great suggestions for "Wasted Reprise", opinions on which one we should use?

Give the dazzler the casting vote - I didn't have time to listen to too many versions, and this isn't one of my favourite songs - so he'll probably make a better choice!

Wasted Reprise - alot of the versions are either set openers or encore starts, so it's really obvious by the crowd noise that it's an opener, or the song starts during the 'encore break' and Ed starts talking over the instrumental, until the 'Wasted Reprise' track suddenly cuts in mid-note.
3 versions I've found that don't suffer from this
10/05 Toronto - extended intro, noisy crowd
17/05 Chicago - OK, but very slow
18/07 San Francisco - my preference, but All Along the Watchtower is played at this show (Bonus track?)

There seems to be a few other versions that don't 'suffer' from this as well but, having just listened to a bunch of them, I reckon I like Toronto best.

'suffer' - yeah it was a bit dramatic wasn't it!

San Francisco 16/07 is a good version of Wasted Reprise too.
I'd dismissed it, after suggesting Big Wave from this show, but San Diego was a popular choice for Big wave
