Project #9 - Break the Sky: Pearl Jam Live

After "Riot Act", Electricxlovex, Myra, Tremors, and myself thought it would be fitting to move on to the "Avocado" Album and give it the live treatment. This album (and tour) has a lot of emotion to it and hopefully we can capture that in this latest project. Let's get started.

Here are some parameters that we would like to go by for this project:

-All songs must be from the 2006 Tour.

-None of the Italian Shows will be used for this Project. This is because somebody has already put together an excellent "Avocado" collection that has widely been distributed and the entire album was performed at the Torino show. We want ours to be different so that the listener can experience other versions of these songs. If you would like copies of the Italian shows, then you can find them here: http://dp-rearviewmirror.blogspot.com/s ... %202006%22

-All songs must be from the "Official Bootleg Series" of 2006 (Minus Italy).

-We will add 3-4 bonus songs at the end, which will be covers/B-sides from the 2006 Tour.

-No repeat shows. (i.e. each song must come from a different show)


Please feel free to use this thread to make suggestions and give us feedback as to what would be good to include on this new compilation (and what wouldn't be good). I will be updating the working track list for this project on the front page of this thread (right here). Our plan is to slowly start putting this together on Monday (March 7th) and have it completed and ready for download by or before next Saturday (March 12th).

    Great stuff!!

    I am out all day and probably all evening now - so will be better able to contribute from tomorrow. Myra is also back on Sunday I believe - so it would be great to see what suggestions we have had coming in when we check back in.

    There are so many good bonus songs to choose from...

    I vote for Waiting On A Friend from Pittsburgh and So You Want To Be A Rock And Roll Star from Denver (either show is fine) :)

    Bonus Songs will be tough to decide on for this project. There are so many to choose from. IMO we should choose bonus songs that reflect what was going on subject wise on the album and tour (i.e. "Masters of War", "Throw Your Hatred Down", "All Along The Watchtower" and "Here's to the State" would be good ones that reflect the tone of the tour and album).

    Ok, in that case...Masters Of War from Washington DC is perfect...and Watchtower from San Fran 3 is also great.

    When i heard an Avocado project was in the making I thought of a few suggestions instantly,

    Worlwide Suicide - 22/11 Adelaide. great version and starts with extra drumming which sounds amazing
    Inside Job - 04/09 Lisbon... extended intro
    Gone - 07/11 Sydney, the ONLY 'acoustic' version of this song
    Unemployable - 15/07 San Francisco, the ONLY version where Ed sings, "they can't say that I never tried" which is the original lyric choice which is printed in the CD lyric booklet, but was actually sung in the studio and all other live versions as "was a dream that had to die"


    Also love alot of the Australian shows where Eddie's voice has been warmed up after 6 months of touring

    I don't know, we haven't discussed that yet. We just started this Project today, maybe in a few weeks we will discuss what will get the "live treatment" next.

    Like I say, how do I become a member of this geekfest?

    Are you trying to be offensive?? Does the "we" bother you for some reason? This is not an exclusive club. Just show up on the thread and have some opinions on the subject matter. "We" love to have everyone involved. It's what makes these Projects so much fun to do. So if you have opinions on what should or shouldn't be on this Project, then by all means join in on the discussion and let us know (your opinion will be valued), but mocking us is just silly. Don't be rude, just kindly just move along if this kind of thing is a joke to you.
